Default Don't use type as an excuse for behavior.

I assume this is gonna effect more people than I saw. You know who you are if you do it.

Feel free to explain why you do something. I'd love to know.

An optimist - does not get discouraged under any circumstances. Life upheavals and stressful events only toughen him and make more confident. He likes to laugh and entertain people. Enters contact with someone by involving him with a humorous remark. His humor is often sly and contain hints and double meanings. Easily enters into arguments and bets, especially if he is challenged. When arguing his points is often ironic, ridicules the views of his opponent. His irritability and hot temper may be unpleasant to others. However, he himself is not perceptive of this and believes that he is simply exchanging opinions.

If you know your type it should serve as a tool to help you identify why you do certain stupid things so that you can stop being stupid.

Do people consciously, deliberately do this is in a way that they could decide to stop doing? A message like this is well meaning and I applaud your intent. The typology crutch might be preferable to the alternatives that would unquestionably appear

For somethings, yes. Just because it may not be readily conscious doesn’t mean that once you’re able to pinpoint the issue, that you shrug it off. You can consciously work to correct certain psychological tendencies.

If you have a tendency to use external sources as an excuse to avoid working on things you can improve, I don't think socionics is a central component of that issue

Then again, I don't think socionics is a central component of any issue, so I guess my views might be out of step in this community

Hmm. People use lots of things to describe poor behavior. If it wasn't socionics it would be something else. Socionics at least can give them some self-insight on why they do different things- not that they would necessarily change though. I also doubt the validity of 'correct' or 'right' behaviors - and to me the way you presented the question naturally implies that there's always a "right" or "correct" behavior and I don't think that's true... I mean there are certain behaviors that are obviously more beneficial and helpful to the individual- and work with other people better in a community or business sense. But I don't really even think there is a such thing as "right" behavior in a sense that is too extreme because everybody does things that pisses other people off. lol

That's kinda part of where the eternal creativity of life comes from, and the conflict that sparks every story yet to be written. And why boundaries are so important. Live with somebody long enough some of their behavior is bound to rub you the wrong way probably no matter how many humanitarian ideals you have... or you just are naturally a very dense and insensitive person and other people's idiosyncrasies really don't bother you at all and you can truly claim stone-cold indifference ((although I think this is pretty rare)). Some EsXjs or EsXps might be this way though...

Hehe I remember ashleesha posted something how when you don't like a bitch even the way they eat their crackers annoys you or something like that.

Bad is when a human intentionally rejects to improve a behavior (often related to weak functions), when such behavior makes significant harm to him or other ones, and when there are no strong obstacles to improve it.

But knowing about types should not enlarge this significantly. Noone likes to have problems and to get criticism due to weaknesses. A human just understands better himself and may better describe himself.

There is a close problem. Often people have positive explanation based on their type's point of view. They may do not think as bad or inacceptably bad or more bad than good, what is perceived such by a human with other type.
For example. T types worse notice emotional effects they do and may overesteemate the degree other people may follow to logical conclusion.
It's hard to explain problems in weak regions. They are better understood by practical consequences, by objective results. Dealing with complementary types helps to understand better weak regions too.

Personally, I'd say yes and no. Personality is arguably partly ingrained, but also fluid and malleable; so even though people might be more inclined to cognitive strengths, similar to how certain people have natural talent at sports or playing a musical instrument, I'd say personality is trained to the extent that repeated similar behaviors and ways of thinking become reflexive to the mind and only changeable if the ego breaks down and reflects on itself - and then makes a conscious effort to change. I think this is more of a super-ego thing though.

So maybe another way of reframing Alomoes message is that people should reflect on their behavior and sometimes adjust.

I don't even have to respond, people will actively analyze my message for greater meaning. Nice.

Sounds something what my dad would do. I think his Si highly functioning. In our house we always had plenty of ketchup as a result I have terrible ketchup consuming habits.

Ketchup on steak is fine. Burning a steak and then eating it dry is what I do.

Of course, Hell yeah. don't use it as an excuse. because you don't need excuse. for example, if you're narcissist, don't say I am because of my type, yell out I am because I am, who's next lol.

seriously, there's no need for excuse. I don't know why people go for it. yell out who you are, if even the world will be against you, no problem, you go against it again but just love who you are with no excuse. if these systems didn't exist you would've said you aren't narcissist? yell out, just yell out.
