Google Scholar Alerts
Over the years, I've set up many alerts for research papers and books and occasionally researchers I've found interesting, which means that I get emails when new stuff is published that cites them. I intend to post links here in case others find them useful - others can do the same, and I suggest they also set up alerts for stuff they find interesting. Ideally, you should avoid papers/books that get many thousands of citations each year.

If anyone wants a paper here that isn't open-source and you don't know about Sci-Hub, I'll see what I can do.
