Default New Supreme Court Judge Amy Coney Barret (re: confirmation hearing)

Hurry up and get this fuckin thing over...

The identity politic cesspool (aka democratic party) is tryin' to turn this into a sleazy political messaging campaign.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a second rate fckin' supreme court judge

Amy Coney Barret is sittin' there like a fckin ninja.

She's ready to slice and dice up the retarded democrat 'prosecutors'...i can't wait to watch make an ass out of these bums.

Klobuchar made an ass out of herself. Real nasty. Her IQ must be below average.
(That useless piece of shit Keith Olbermann is back on the waves.)

These establishment demoturds are making a big deal about healthcare but they ruined Bernie's chances in two back to back primaries.

They put up that half-dead comatose paperweight Biden into the spot instead of Bernie.

Biden, Clinton and Obama are culpable for Benghazi...also in Afghanistan when they made US bomber planes stand down in daylight time costing the lives of American soldiers and resulting in late night friendly fires.

Senator Chris Coons this pencil-necked bum...him and the democratic party's COVID-19 narrative really shit the bed with Chris Christie coming out of COVID unscathed...the guy is an encyclopedia of pre-existing risk factors

now poop for brains kamala harris queen of the bag ladies who only got to where she is because of her female victim pandering, made up biography, and liberal non-merit based policies is so full of shit in her superficial grasp on the issues...

PENCE destroyed her in the debate and all she and the liberal gay media could do was play the victim female cardd because he interrupted her...what about all those stupid faces she made while he was speaking. he just destroyed her...she had no command over the information.

these demoturds have now turned this into a demogagic preaching that her confirmation will cost Americans their healthcare...what dopes with their idiotic emotional appeals holding up pictures of 'sick kids'

fuck does any of that have to do with a Supreme Court confirmation hearing. Not a fckin' thing!

they scandalized the Kavanaugh hearing where they tried to make him look like a rapist by bringing in some academic nutjob who had not an ounce of support for her allegations and read her opening statement off a script. kavanagh is the biggest choir boy around

this is a supreme court confirmation hearing....poop for brains just pooped all over it.

lindsay graham is sly motherfucker, stuck her poop for brains ass in between two higher intelligence republican senators...

kamala poop for brains queen of the bag ladies spoke about Brown v Board of Education she forgot to discuss the busing policies that Dementia Biden former segregatoinist was in favor of...that she basically called him a racist over in the first debate...

I can't wait to see Supreme Court Justice Amy Barret slice and dice phony Kamala...

    @Kill4Me

What is your opinion on abortion rights?

    Are you pro-life, or pro-choice?

From what I hear Judge Barret is pro-life. I wonder if her opinion extends into the law of the land. Surely on a lawful basis, prochoice, the right for a woman to terminate her own pregnancy safely and lawfully, should always stand, even if you yourself do not agree with it.

There are a number of mammals who terminate their pregnancies if their instincts tell them to do so.

I do not think Barret would actively fight to have this right reversed. I do think she is a person who would strive to conserve what is.

On a related note, its hypocritical of a social Conservative Government to support foreign governments, like China, who practise infanticide frequently with their past 1 child policy. I guess what is good for the goose is not good for the gander.

its funny watching those three primary losers (kamala, klobuchar with her big pointy schnowzer, and that troll Cory Booker) waste everybody's time...kamala poop for brains didn't have an ounce of fight in her during the primaries....she was like the first one to drop out of the primaries and only got selected for VP because Biden wants to pander to both the Black and Women vote. All three of them are whining their little butts off about Healthcare but they all had a chance to get behind Bernie if they gave such a flying fuck about Healthcare. like they did four years ago they fucked bernie....history repeats and now they're up waxing platitudes about healthcare for all.

klobuchar is a moron...she says trump called military losers and suckers as if its a well established fact. it was fckin hearsay which has been rebuked by numerous people who were present. it could have just as easily been a calculated framejob based on Trump's disparaging remarks of McCain. klobuchar and poop for brains run with it like its fact...like they were there, standing next to him when he said it. How the fuck do they know if he said it. total dummies and these are the brains of America that can determine whether or not to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court....geezus

Barrett gave her opening statement, Amy Coney Barrett is picture perfect. None of this stuff about policy has anything the fuck to do with whether to confirm or not confirm. this is a just identify politic cesspool shit show....total waste of time...nothing the fuck to do with whether to confirm or not confirm....can't wait for Amy Barrett to make a fool out of Kamala if Kamala tries to pull a dumb but nasty line of questioning like she did on Kavanagh (who with a chuckle showed Kamala to be the simple-minded dunce that she is)

Universal health care is the most humane way for people to go about it...the one positive about pay-for-play health care, is it drives competition, which drives innovation. Money talks. Its sad, but the rest of the world net benefits from the american insurance based health care system. Americans do as well, they just end up paying for it, with shorter lifespans as well.

Values matter, actions matter equally the same. What will this woman do by shaping the destiny of *the system*? This is the concern and its silly to say this is a non-starter issue.

Identity politics is a spook though, I agree. A person can never be satisfied under this way of thinking.

Republicans are going to miss all the gentlemen's agreements they're breaking once Democrats grant statehoods to Guam, Puerto Rico, and Washington D.C.

Only two things wrong with that. Democrats will forgive and forget, and those places don't want statehood. They have a better deal as things are now.

I'm not fond of Harris either, but Trump/Pence are narcissistic sociopathic sadists that will do nothing to help blue collar str8 men out of poverty- he only easily manipulates them from a safe distance but does nothing to truly help them or their situation. So I wouldn't fall for their antics or bravado. Bullying other people doesn't make you stronger, just saying. So many stupid lower/middle class white str8 males voting against their own self-interest while thinking they are doing the opposite. Y'all are being played like a fiddle.

Harris is very problematic tho because she's another limosuine faux-liberal that wants to imprison/govern/control the middle and lower classes herself instead of truly empower them (under the guise that she's 'empowering') but she's not- she just wants to use the government to punish people for breaking the rules while she goes to expensive wine parties and looks down on people. I can't get behind her because she was overzealous with 'truancy charges' - something that I had as a kid and she would invade the government too much in my own life and smugly get rid of my freedoms under her control.

In America, conservatives aren't conserving. Liberals aren't liberating. It sucks.

As Southpark would say, elections are all about choosing between a Douche and a Turd. =D

"On five separate occasions, Judge Barrett was a paid speaker of the Alliance Defending Freedom, an organization designated as a hate group

by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a result of its support for the recriminalization of sexual acts between consenting LGBTQ adults in the

U.S. and criminalization abroad; defense of state-sanctioned sterilization of transgender people abroad; and its contentions that LGBTQ

people are more likely to engage in pedophilia. In addition, Judge Barrett, in a 2016 speech, contended that Title IX of the Civil Rights Act,

which also prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, does not protect transgender persons from discrimination because, in her view, “no

one . . . would have dreamed of that result” at the time the law was enacted."

    and

"Judge Barrett’s writings, speeches, and sign-ons raise grave concerns about her fidelity to precedent and the rule of law, including core civil

    rights protections."

    and

"The judge’s writings suggest that, although she considers Brown v. Board a “super precedent,” she believes it may have been incorrectly

decided in accordance with her interpretation of originalism. Judge Barrett has also suggested that, while she does not think it would ever be

invalidated by a court, the Fourteenth Amendment may also be “possibly illegitimate.”

Her understanding of originalism as potentially justifying the illegitimacy of the Fourteenth Amendment — and her continued adherence to the

doctrine nonetheless — raises deep concerns about her fitness to serve on the nation’s highest court. Without this amendment, Congress

would lack the power to enforce civil rights laws, and Americans would be stripped of their rights under many constitutional provisions,

including the rights to free speech and freedom of religious expression."

    Are you sure??

    * The House passed a bill in June (H.R.51) allowing D.C. to become a state. link

    * Chuck Schumer has promised to grant statehood to both D.C. and Puerto Rico. link

    * The last time there was a referendum in Puerto Rico, it passed, although the vote was heavily boycotted by anti-unionists.

    * D.C. voted to approve in a referendum link

^ How unreliable is any of that?

Don't actually know anything about Guam. I just put that in there for rhetorical effect.

Supreme Court Justice Coney Barrett is by far the best long term thing to happen to the Country as a whole in 2020....what better justice to replace than that second rate intellect and crazy radical Ruth Bader Ginsburg...

All booker klobuchar and harris did was waste everybody's time...booker, klobuchar, and Harris the Three Trolls are so pathetic...the idiotic and simple minded and political motivated questions that kamala poop for brains harris directed at this woman Amy Coney Barrett a Fckin' Gift to the United States of America, Notre Dame classic American college (unlike phony harvard full of liberal nuts), shows kamala harris to be a complete disgrace to the Country!

Amy Coney Barratt is a fckin ninja...she sliced and diced those three losers....

boy you couldn't get a better contrast between America's finest and an alley cat than the split screen between Barratt and Kamala poop for brains Queen of the Bag Ladies who was lookin....who was lookin....who was lookin.....MIGHTY WHITE...under that light....Can anybody say Rachel Dolezal (aka "Call me Shaniqua")!

I'm hopeful for an overturn of Roe V. Wade (which Ginsberg herself actually wrote a paper against to anyone who bothers to look it up), but I ain't exactly holding my breath. My real excitement is over the 2nd amendment. Imagine nationwide Castle Doctrine, "The 2nd Amendment IS my Concealed Carry Permimit", Full Auto 3d printed guns are A-OK (unless you're talking something like the Gatling Gun on an A-10 Warthog. Though we're at least a century out before that actually becomes remotely possible)

With her confirmation, that makes the court 5-4 on gun rights. That circumvents/assumes Robert's "swing" vote (a vote that always swings "left" BTW). This is why all the gun rights organizations have torpedoed any attempt to bring such a case to the supreme court. Roberts is supposedly "right wing" but he just can't seem to refuse to live up to the expectations of the likes of CNN sucking his cock and "innocently" musing in a daze of being sexually conquered by him that he could make her love him eternally if only he voted as if he were a Democrat/Commie.

Add in the fact that he is, deep down, a simp and well, now you know why even the era of Trump the NRA and their fellow travelers have been biding their time.

I'll point out a vital fact encapsulated in a single quote: "Democrats hold power, Republicans hold office".

Say what you will about my enemies, I must give the devil his due. They never failed to advance their own objectives. They knew as Machiavelli did (and I do). In the realm of politics Perception>Reality. They knew exactly how to bait and counter a foe who assumed the opposite. This, mind you, is because of most all of them are Protestants and thus they don't really get that God told us that Satan rules our current reality.

Poor dumb fools. The foolishly assume "facts" trump "perception". Hope this bites my foes in the ass though. Only a real, full blown and total idiot would accept the "fact" that Trump lost after all the "mail-in" votes that just got tallied up 4-weeks after the election would be legit. Pro tip: you need a week or two to actually learn how many votes your candidate needs to win to win the election. It's like being able to see the dealer's final hand where he stands before you decide to "hit or not.

Easy as fuck to fake 30k or more votes towards your preferred candidate on election night. Hell, nobody'll really notice truth be told. That, however, is but merely tipping the scales. If your opponent actually won fairly by a margin beyond that, well, he just plain and simply wins. That's why Trump got fairly elected in my eyes BTW. Plus it shows just how detached our rulers are from us. They think us but a few dozen inbred hicks. Pure projection according to my research, you're best bet to finding an inbred idiot as a dictionary example is best started from an identified child of our ruling class.

The full implications of that amendment were incomprehensible to those who made it at the time. America was already a multi-ethnic, mutli-national entity at the time. We Americans, at least initially, were all the "refuse" of Europe/The Old World. "Lowborn" trash who were rightly convinced by right of our piety, demonstrable intelligence, and our raw desire to give Lucifer Dueling middle fingers (or whomever the Jews and Protestant sects called that figure).

Sadly, some of the old prejudices survived the trip on that cramped and shoddy ass wooden boat. Brits still reacted with instinctual desire to murder anyone who sounded even a wee bit French/Foreign and upon hearing a Scots or Irish accent wanted to enslave them instead.

Everyone still got the gist of it though. Try explaining why the Irish hate the Brits to a Zulu in a common tongue or historical experience to yourself as a being of European descent. Try to explain to the Chinese why no true son of Europe would knowingly and freely kowtow to anyone who isn't literally Jesus "just because that's tradition". Hell, point that gun at the head of my own mum. She's just as hardcore as I am and we all know the beatitudes. Those who die in his name in the cause of righteousness are truly blessed for they shall inherit the kingdom of heaven. Try oppressing folks like that!

I digress however. They lived in a world where trans-continental travel was a true commitment. All on that ship, crew and passengers included, were wagering their very LIVES upon the success of that journey. If the navigator was full of shit, the captain a farce, the crew a bunch of charlatans, they were all well and truly fucked. They'd all die at sea unremembered and unmourned.

Could you make that wager? Would you take that chance? If you can honestly answer yes even if it meant everyone you knew from your homeland would view you as a traitor worthy of death? Could you roll those dice? Would you? My ancestors did. They trusted in Christ and his infinite mercy and his beneficent plan and I respond in kind. Can you?

Well this is either a fact or it isn't. If it is a fact, then it is just dealing with facts as they are. Not dealing with the facts is cultish.

Of course, it is a fact. It's obvious seeing the now much-exposed, decades-old, planned infiltration into the Catholic Church of homosexual men into the priesthood, young men who were purposely recruited* because they were gay and because they did not hold the supernatural faith in God or in the Church that they then professed to believe -they LIED, in order to become priests. And from these homosexual male priests, bishops and cardinals we have a massive "pedophilia"* problem, OVERWHELMINGLY outnumbering sexual crimes of the heterosexual priests. Its a fact.

Yes, it is an unpleasant fact for those homosexual men who have moral standards that would never allow them to even think of such a thing. However, if they care about justice, they would want the true facts exposed. To judge a problem you have to start with the actual facts.

** Not really pedophilia! That false term is preferred by the media - because it has a cultish agenda to disguise the true problem - unlike a good judge who wants the true facts to solve a problem. These homosexual priests, instead, overwhelmingly had a very different target: post-pubescent boys.

For example, Jews in the Middle Ages were accused of murdering Christian babies in ritual sacrifices. Black men in the United States were often lynched after being falsely accused of raping White women.
In a similar fashion, gay people have often been portrayed as a threat to children. Back in 1977, when Anita Bryant campaigned successfully to repeal a Dade County (FL) ordinance prohibiting anti-gay discrimination, she named her organization "Save Our Children," and warned that "a particularly deviant-minded [gay] teacher could sexually molest children" (Bryant, 1977, p. 114). [Bibliographic references are on a different web page]

In recent years, antigay activists have routinely asserted that gay people are child molesters. This argument was often made in debates about the Boy Scouts of America's policy to exclude gay scouts and scoutmasters. More recently, in the wake of Rep. Mark Foley's resignation from the US House of Representatives in 2006, antigay activists and their supporters seized on the scandal to revive this canard.

It has also been raised in connection with scandals about the Catholic church's attempts to cover up the abuse of young males by priests. Indeed, the Vatican's early response to the 2002 revelations of widespread Church cover-ups of sexual abuse by priests was to declare that gay men should not be ordained.

    Public belief in
the stereotype The number of Americans who believe the myth that gay people are child molesters has declined substantially. In a 1970 national survey, more than 70% of respondents agreed with the assertions that "Homosexuals are dangerous as teachers or youth leaders because they try to get sexually involved with children" or that "Homosexuals try to play sexually with children if they cannot get an adult partner."1
By contrast, in a 1999 national poll, the belief that most gay men are likely to molest or abuse children was endorsed by only 19% of heterosexual men and 10% of heterosexual women. Even fewer – 9% of men and 6% of women – regarded most lesbians as child molesters.

Consistent with these findings, Gallup polls have found that an increasing number of Americans would allow gay people to be elementary school teachers. For example, the proportion was 54% in 2005, compared to 27% in 1977.

    Examining the
Research Even though most Americans don't regard gay people as child molesters, confusion remains widespread in this area. To understand the facts, it is important to examine the results of scientific research. However, when we evaluate research on child molestation, our task is complicated by several problems.
One problem is that none of the studies in this area have obtained data from a probability sample, that is, a sample that can be assumed to be representative of the population of all child molesters. Rather, most research has been conducted only with convicted perpetrators or with pedophiles who sought professional help. Consequently, they may not accurately describe child molesters who have never been caught or have not sought treatment.

Terminology A second problem is that the terminology used in this area is often confusing and can even be misleading. We can begin to address that problem by defining some basic terms.
Pedophilia and child molestation are used in different ways, even by professionals. Pedophilia usually refers to an adult psychological disorder characterized by a preference for prepubescent children as sexual partners; this preference may or may not be acted upon. The term hebephilia is sometimes used to describe adult sexual attractions to adolescents or children who have reached puberty.

Whereas pedophilia and hebephilia refer to psychological propensities, child molestation and child sexual abuse are used to describe actual sexual contact between an adult and someone who has not reached the legal age of consent. In this context, the latter individual is referred to as a child, even though he or she may be a teenager.

Although the terms are not always applied consistently, it is useful to distinguish between pedophiles/hebephiles and child molesters/abusers. Pedophilia and hebephilia are diagnostic labels that refer to psychological attractions. Not all pedophiles and hebephiles actually molest children; an adult can be attracted to children or adolescents without ever actually engaging in sexual contact with them.

Child molestation and child sexual abuse refer to actions, and don't imply a particular psychological makeup or motive on the part of the perpetrator. Not all incidents of child sexual abuse are perpetrated by pedophiles or hebephiles; in some cases, the perpetrator has other motives for his or her actions and does not manifest an ongoing pattern of sexual attraction to children.

Thus, not all child sexual abuse is perpetrated by pedophiles (or hebephiles) and not all pedophiles and hebephiles actually commit abuse. Consequently, it is important to use terminology carefully.

Another problem related to terminology arises because sexual abuse of male children by adult men2 is often referred to as "homosexual molestation." The adjective "homosexual" (or "heterosexual" when a man abuses a female child) refers to the victim's gender in relation to that of the perpetrator. Unfortunately, people sometimes mistakenly interpret it as referring to the perpetrator's sexual orientation.

As an expert panel of researchers convened by the National Academy of Sciences noted in a 1993 report: "The distinction between homosexual and heterosexual child molesters relies on the premise that male molesters of male victims are homosexual in orientation. Most molesters of boys do not report sexual interest in adult men, however" (National Research Council, 1993, p. 143, citation omitted).

To avoid this confusion, it is preferable to refer to men's sexual abuse of boys with the more accurate label of male-male molestation. Similarly, it is preferable to refer to men's abuse of girls as male-female molestation. These labels are more accurate because they describe the sex of the individuals involved but don't implicitly convey unwarranted assumptions about the perpetrator's sexual orientation.

    Typologies of
Offenders The distinction between a victim's gender and a perpetrator's sexual orientation is important because many child molesters don't really have an adult sexual orientation. They have never developed the capacity for mature sexual relationships with other adults, either men or women. Instead, their sexual attractions focus on children – boys, girls, or children of both sexes.
Over the years, this fact has been incorporated into various systems for categorizing child molesters. For example, Finkelhor and Araji (1986) proposed that perpetrators' sexual attractions should be conceptualized as ranging along a continuum – from exclusive interest in children at one extreme, to exclusive interest in adult partners at the other end.

Typologies of offenders have often included a distinction between those with an enduring primary preference for children as sexual partners and those who have established age-appropriate relationships but become sexually involved with children under unusual circumstances of extreme stress. Perpetrators in the first category – those with a more or less exclusive interest in children – have been labeled fixated. Fixation means "a temporary or permanent arrestment of psychological maturation resulting from unresolved formative issues which persist and underlie the organization of subsequent phases of development" (Groth & Birnbaum, 1978, p. 176). Many clinicians view fixated offenders as being "stuck" at an early stage of psychological development.

By contrast, other molesters are described as regressed. Regression is "a temporary or permanent appearance of primitive behavior after more mature forms of expression had been attained, regardless of whether the immature behavior was actually manifested earlier in the individual's development" (Groth & Birnbaum, 1978, p. 177). Regressed offenders have developed an adult sexual orientation but under certain conditions (such as extreme stress) they return to an earlier, less mature psychological state and engage in sexual contact with children.

Some typologies of child molesters divide the fixation-regression distinction into multiple categories, and some include additional categories as well (e.g., Knight, 1989).

For the present discussion, the important point is that many child molesters cannot be meaningfully described as homosexuals, heterosexuals, or bisexuals (in the usual sense of those terms) because they are not really capable of a relationship with an adult man or woman. Instead of gender, their sexual attractions are based primarily on age. These individuals – who are often characterized as fixated – are attracted to children, not to men or women.

Using the fixated-regressed distinction, Groth and Birnbaum (1978) studied 175 adult males who were convicted in Massachusetts of sexual assault against a child. None of the men had an exclusively homosexual adult sexual orientation. 83 (47%) were classified as "fixated;" 70 others (40%) were classified as regressed adult heterosexuals; the remaining 22 (13%) were classified as regressed adult bisexuals. Of the last group, Groth and Birnbaum observed that "in their adult relationships they engaged in sex on occasion with men as well as with women. However, in no case did this attraction to men exceed their preference for women....There were no men who were primarily sexually attracted to other adult males..." (p.180).

    Other
Approaches Other researchers have taken different approaches, but have similarly failed to find a connection between homosexuality and child molestation. Dr. Carole Jenny and her colleagues reviewed 352 medical charts, representing all of the sexually abused children seen in the emergency room or child abuse clinic of a Denver children's hospital during a one-year period (from July 1, 1991 to June 30, 1992). The molester was a gay or lesbian adult in fewer than 1% of cases in which an adult molester could be identified – only 2 of the 269 cases (Jenny et al., 1994).
In yet another approach to studying adult sexual attraction to children, some Canadian researchers observed how homosexual and heterosexual adult men responded to slides of males and females of various ages (child, pubescent, and mature adult). All of the research subjects were first screened to ensure that they preferred physically mature sexual partners. In some of the slides shown to subjects, the model was clothed; in others, he or she was nude. The slides were accompanied by audio recordings. The recordings paired with the nude models described an imaginary sexual interaction between the model and the subject. The recordings paired with the pictures of clothed models described the model engaging in neutral activities (e.g., swimming). To measure sexual arousal, changes in the subjects' penis volume were monitored while they watched the slides and listened to the audiotapes. The researchers found that homosexual males responded no more to male children than heterosexual males responded to female children (Freund et al., 1989).

In summary, each of these studies failed to support the hypothesis that homosexual males are more likely than heterosexual men to molest children or to be sexually attracted to children or adolescents.

    The Mainstream
View Reflecting the results of these and other studies, as well as clinical experience, the mainstream view among researchers and professionals who work in the area of child sexual abuse is that homosexual and bisexual men do not pose any special threat to children. For example, in one review of the scientific literature, noted authority Dr. A. Nicholas Groth wrote:
Are homosexual adults in general sexually attracted to children and are preadolescent children at greater risk of molestation from homosexual adults than from heterosexual adults? There is no reason to believe so. The research to date all points to there being no significant relationship between a homosexual lifestyle and child molestation. There appears to be practically no reportage of sexual molestation of girls by lesbian adults, and the adult male who sexually molests young boys is not likely to be homosexual (Groth & Gary, 1982, p. 147).
In a later literature review, Dr. Nathaniel McConaghy (1998) similarly cautioned against confusing homosexuality with pedophilia. He noted, "The man who offends against prepubertal or immediately postpubertal boys is typically not sexually interested in older men or in women" (p. 259).

This well known lack of a linkage between homosexuality and child molestation accounts for why relatively little research has directly addressed the issue. For example, a 1998 comprehensive review of published empirical research on the sexual abuse of boys reported only one study (the 1994 study by Jenny and colleagues, cited above) that included data about the self-reported sexual orientation of perpetrators (Holmes & Slap, 1998).

Proving something that is already widely known simply isn't a priority for scientists. Indeed, a commentary that accompanied publication of the study by Jenny et al. in Pediatrics noted that debates about gay people as molesters "have little to do with everyday child abuse" and lamented that they distract lawmakers and the public from dealing with the real problem of children's sexual mistreatment (Krugman, 1994).

    Other
Sexual Abuse In scandals involving the Catholic church, the victims of sexual abuse were often adolescent boys rather than small children. Similarly, the 2006 congressional page scandal involved males who were at least 16 years old.
These are cases in which the term pedophilia – referring as it does to attractions to prepubescent children – can cause confusion. Rather than pedophilia, the accusations stemming from these scandals raised the question of whether gay people shouldn't be trusted in positions of authority where there is any opportunity for sexually harassing or abusing others.

Here again, there is no inherent connection between an adult's sexual orientation and her or his propensity for endangering others. Scientific research provides no evidence that homosexual people are less likely than heterosexuals to exercise good judgment and appropriate discretion in their employment settings. There are no data, for example, showing that gay men and lesbians are more likely than heterosexual men and women to sexually harass their subordinates in the workplace. Data from studies using a variety of psychological measures do not indicate that gay people are more likely than heterosexuals to possess any psychological characteristics that would make them less capable of controlling their sexual urges, refraining from the abuse of power, obeying rules and laws, interacting effectively with others, or exercising good judgment in handling authority. As explained elsewhere on this site, sexual orientation is not a mental illness nor is it inherently associated with impaired psychological functioning.

Gay men and lesbians function effectively in a wide variety of employment settings. The research literature doesn't reveal any differences between heterosexuals, bisexuals, and homosexuals in job performance or ability to properly exercise authority in supervisory roles. As indicated by workplace policies around the United States, a large and growing number of private and public employers do not perceive a problem with hiring gay and bisexual people as employees or managers. Many corporations, educational institutions, and local governments have adopted policies that prohibit discrimination against employees on the basis of sexual orientation. Many of those organizations provide benefits such as health insurance for employees' same-sex partners. Indeed, one widely cited reason for offering such benefits is that they enable a company to remain competitive by attracting high quality employees who happen to be gay, lesbian, or bisexual.

Thus, there is no factual basis for organizations to avoid hiring homosexual or bisexual people, simply on the basis of their sexual orientation, for positions that involve responsibility for or supervision of others, whether children, adolescents, or adults.

What About Claims That Scientific Research Proves Gay Men Are Likely To Molest Children?
Some conservative groups have argued that scientific research strongly supports their claims that homosexuality and pedophilia are linked. The Family Research Council has produced what is perhaps the most extensive attempt to document this claim. It is an article by Timothy J. Dailey titled Homosexuality and Child Abuse.

With 76 footnotes, many of them referring to papers in scientific journals, it appears at first glance to be a thorough and scholarly discussion of the issue. On further examination, however, its central argument – that "the evidence indicates that homosexual men molest boys at rates grossly disproportionate to the rates at which heterosexual men molest girls" – doesn't hold up.

In the following section, the main sources cited by Dailey and the FRC to support their claim are reviewed. The papers are listed in the same order in which they are first cited by the FRC article.

Freund et al. (1989). Heterosexuality, homosexuality, and erotic age preference. Journal of Sex Research, 26, 107-117.
This article is discussed above in the "Other Approaches" section. As the FRC concedes, it contradicts their argument. The abstract summarizes the authors' conclusion: "Findings indicate that homosexual males who preferred mature partners responded no more to male children than heterosexual males who preferred mature partners responded to female children."

Silverthorne & Quinsey. (2000). Sexual partner age preferences of homosexual and heterosexual men and women. Archives of Sexual Behavior, 29, 67-76.
The FRC cites this study to challenge the Freund et al. data (see the previous paper above). However, the methodologies were quite different. Freund and his colleagues used a sample that included sex offenders and they assessed sexual arousal with a physiological measure similar to that described below for the 1988 Marshall et al. study. Silverthorne and Quinsey used a sample of community volunteers who were asked to view pictures of human faces and use a 7-point scale to rate their sexual attractiveness. The apparent ages of the people portrayed in the pictures was originally estimated by Dr. Silverthorne to range from 15 to 50. However, a group of independent raters perceived the male faces to range in age from 18 to 58, and the female faces to range from 19 to 60.

The article doesn't report the data in great detail (e.g., average ratings are depicted only in a graphic; the actual numbers aren't reported) and the authors provide contradictory information about the rating scale (they describe it as a 7-point scale but also say it ranged from 0 to 7, which constitutes an 8-point scale). In either case, it appears that none of the pictures was rated as "very sexually attractive" (a rating of 7). Rather, the highest average ratings were approximately 5.

On average, gay men rated the 18-year old male faces the most attractive (average rating = about 5), with attractiveness ratings declining steadily for older faces. They rated the 58-year old male faces 2, on average. By contrast, heterosexual men rated the 25-year old female faces the most attractive (about 5), with the 18- and 28-year old female faces rated lower (between 2 and 3) and the 60-year old female faces rated the least attractive (about 1).

A serious problem with this study is that the researchers didn't control for the possibility that some of the faces pictured in the photos might simply have been more or less physically attractive than the others, independent of their age or gender. The researchers explicitly acknowledged this shortcoming, speculating that the women's faces in the 25-year old group might have been more attractive than women's faces in the other age groups. But they didn't address the possibility that the attractiveness of the male and female faces may not have been comparable.

This issue could have been addressed in various ways. For example, prior to collecting data, the researchers could have started with a large number of photographs and asked a group of independent raters to evaluate the general physical attractiveness of the face in each photo; these ratings could have been used to select photos for the experiment that were equivalent in attractiveness. Getting independent ratings of experimental stimuli in this way is a common procedure in social psychological research.

Thus, even if one accepts the questionable assumption that this study is relevant, it doesn't support the FRC's contention that gay men are more likely than heterosexual men to be child molesters for several reasons:

    the researchers failed to control for the varying attractiveness of the different photos;
all of the faces portrayed in the photos were perceived to be at least 18; and
the study merely assessed judgments of sexual attractiveness rather than the research participants' sexual arousal.

Blanchard et al. (2000). Fraternal birth order and sexual orientation in pedophiles. Archives of Sexual Behavior, 29, 463-478.
This study categorized convicted sex offenders according to whether they molested or reported sexual attraction to boys only, girls only, or both boys and girls. These groups were labeled, respectively, homosexual pedophiles, heterosexual pedophiles, and bisexual pedophiles. This classification referred to their attractions to children. Adult sexual orientation (or even whether the men had an adult sexual orientation) wasn't assessed.

Elliott et al. (1995). Child sexual abuse prevention: What offenders tell us. Child Abuse & Neglect, 19, 579-594.
In this study, child sex offenders were interviewed. Their sexual orientation (gay, heterosexual, bisexual) wasn't assessed. The authors drew from their findings to suggest strategies for how parents and children can prevent sexual victimization. It is noteworthy that none of those strategies involved avoiding gay men.

Jenny et al. (1994). Are children at risk for sexual abuse by homosexuals? Pediatrics, 94, 41-44.
This study, described above in the section on "Other Approaches," contradicts the FRC's argument. The FRC faults the study because the researchers didn't directly interview perpetrators but instead relied on the victims' medical charts for information about the offender's sexual orientation. However, other studies cited favorably by the FRC (and summarized in this section) similarly relied on chart data (Erickson et al., 1988) or did not directly assess the sexual orientation of perpetrators (Blanchard et al. 2000; Elliott et al. 1995; Marshall et al., 1988). Thus, the FRC apparently considers this method a weakness only when it leads to results they dislike.

Marshall et al. (1988). Sexual offenders against male children: Sexual preference. Behaviour Research and Therapy, 26, 383-391.
In this study, the researchers compared 21 men who had sexually molested a male under 16 years (and at least 5 years younger than themselves) to 18 unemployed men who were not known to have molested a child. Over a series of sessions, each man watched color slides of nude males and females of various ages and listened to audiotaped descriptions of both coercive and consensual sexual interactions between a man and a boy. During the sessions, each man sat in a private booth, where he was instructed to lower his trousers and underwear and attach a rubber tube to his penis. The tube detected any changes in penis circumference, with increases interpreted as indicating sexual arousal.

The FRC cites this study as showing that "a homosexual and a heterosexual subgroup can be delineated among these offenders." This is true but hardly relevant to their claims.

The researchers categorized 7 offenders who were more aroused overall by the male nudes than the female nudes as the homosexual subgroup. They categorized 14 offenders who were more aroused overall by the female nudes as the heterosexual subgroup. The offenders were not asked their sexual orientation (gay, straight, bisexual) and the paper does not report any information about the nature of the offenders' adult sexual relationships, or even if they had any such relationships.

Bickley & Beech. (2001). Classifying child abusers: Its relevance to theory and clinical practice. International Journal Of Offender Therapy And Comparative Criminology, 45, 51-69.
This is a literature review and theoretical paper that discusses the strengths and weaknesses of various systems for classifying child molesters. In citing this study, the FRC says it:

refers to homosexual pedophiles as a "distinct group." The victims of homosexual pedophiles "were more likely to be strangers, that they were more likely to have engaged in paraphiliac behavior separate from that involved in the offence, and that they were more likely to have past convictions for sexual offences.... Other studies [showed a] greater risk of reoffending than those who had offended against girls" and that the "recidivism rate for male-victim offenders is approximately twice that for female-victim offenders."
In reality, however, the paper was summarizing the findings of other studies, not reporting new data. In the passage excerpted by the FRC, the authors were discussing published papers that used a classification system focusing entirely on the sex of victims (not whether the perpetrator is straight or gay). Here is the complete text (the passages that FRC omitted are highlighted):

"Grubin and Kennedy (1991) reported that when dividing sex offenders based simply on the sex of their victims, offenders against boys stood out as a distinct group. They noted that their victims were more likely to be strangers, that they were more likely to have engaged in paraphiliac behavior separate from that involved in the offence, and they were more likely to have past convictions for sexual offences. Other studies have employed the sex-of-victim approach in the prediction of future risk, with offenders who have sexually abused boys or both boys and girls reported as having more victims and being at greater risk of reoffending than those who had offended against girls only [bibliographic references omitted]. In the nondiagnostic remarks, DSM-IV (APA, 1994) claims that the recidivism rate for male-victim offenders is approximately twice that for female-victim offenders, and although not demonstrating such a marked difference, Furby, Weinrott, and Blackshaw (1989), in an extensive review of recidivism rates, found that reoffending was higher for male victim offenders. [¶] However, the sex-of-victim distinction has not been consistently found, and contrasting findings have been reported in studies that have demonstrated no differences in recidivism rates between the groups [bibliographic references omitted]. Furthermore, Abel, Becker, Murphy, and Flanagan (1981) found that those child molesters who offended against girls reported more than twice as many victims as those who had offended against boys, a finding contrary to the hypothesized outcome." (p. 56)

Jay & Young. (1977). The gay report: Lesbians and gay men speak out about sexual experiences and lifestyles. New York: Summit.
This book, published more than 30 years ago by a team of writer-activists, is not a scientific study. The authors' survey methodology is not reported in detail and, because it was a journalistic work, the survey was never subjected to scientific peer review.

Erickson et al. (1988). Behavior patterns of child molesters. Archives of Sexual Behavior, 17, 77-86.
This study was based on a retrospective review of the medical records of male sex offenders admitted to the Minnesota Security Hospital between 1975 and 1984. Apparently, 70% of the men abused girls, 26% abused boys, and 4% abused children of both sexes. (The paper is unclear in that it doesn't explain how perpetrators with multiple victims were counted.) The paper asserts in passing that "Eighty-six percent of offenders against males described themselves as homosexual or bisexual" (p. 83). However, no details are provided about how this information was ascertained, making it difficult to interpret or evaluate. Nor did the authors report the number of homosexual versus bisexual offenders, a distinction that the Groth and Birnbaum study (described above) indicates is relevant.

In summary, the scientific sources cited by the FRC report do not support their argument. Most of the studies they referenced did not even assess the sexual orientation of abusers. Two studies explicitly concluded that sexual orientation and child molestation are unrelated. Notably, the FRC failed to cite the 1978 study by Groth and Birnbaum, which also contradicted their argument. Only one study (Erickson et al., 1988) might be interpreted as supporting the FRC argument, and it failed to detail its measurement procedures and did not differentiate bisexual from homosexual offenders.

Do Any Studies Claim To Show That Homosexuals Are More Likely To Molest Children?
One individual has claimed to have data that prove homosexuals to be child molesters at a higher rate than heterosexuals. That person is Paul Cameron. As detailed elsewhere on this site, Cameron's survey data are subject to so many methodological flaws as to be virtually meaningless. Even so, his assertions are sometimes quoted by antigay organizations in their attempts to link homosexuality with child sexual abuse.

In a 1985 article published in Psychological Reports, Cameron purported to review published data to answer the question, "Do those who commit homosexual acts disproportionately incorporate children into their sexual practices?" (p. 1227). He concluded that "at least one-third of the sexual attacks upon youth are homosexual" (p. 1228) and that "those who are bi- to homosexual are proportionately much more apt to molest youth" than are heterosexuals (p. 1231).

Cameron's claims hinge on the fallacious assumption that all male-male molestations are committed by homosexuals. Moreover, a careful reading of Cameron's paper reveals several false statements about the literature he claimed to have reviewed.

For example, he cited the Groth and Birnbaum (1978) study mentioned previously as evidencing a 3:2 ratio of "heterosexual" (i.e., female victim) to "homosexual" (i.e., male victim) molestations, and he noted that "54% of all the molestations in this study were performed by bisexual or homosexual practitioners" (p. 1231). However, Groth and Birnbaum reported that none of the men in their sample had an exclusively homosexual adult sexual orientation, and that none of the 22 bisexual men were more attracted to adult males than to adult females. The "54%" statistic reported by Cameron doesn't appear anywhere in the Groth and Birnbaum (1978) article, nor does Cameron explain its derivation.

It is also noteworthy that, although Cameron assumed that the perpetrators of male-male molestations were all homosexual, he assumed that not all male-female molestations were committed by heterosexuals. He incorporated a "bisexual correction" into his data manipulations to increase further his estimate of the risk posed to children by homosexual/bisexual men.

In the latter half of his paper, Cameron considered whether "homosexual teachers have more frequent sexual interaction with their pupils" (p. 1231). Based on 30 instances of sexual contact between a teacher and pupil reported in ten different sources published between 1920 and 1982, Cameron concluded that "a pupil would appear about 90 times more likely to be sexually assaulted by a homosexual practitioner" (p.1232); the ratio rose to 100 times when Cameron added his bisexual correction.

This ratio is meaningless because no data were obtained concerning the actual sexual orientation of the teachers involved; as before, Cameron assumed that male-male contacts were perpetrated by homosexuals. Furthermore, Cameron's rationale for selecting particular sources appears to have been completely arbitrary. He described no systematic method for reviewing the literature, and apparently never reviewed the voluminous literature on the sexual development of children and adolescents. His final choice of sources appears to have slanted his findings toward what Cameron described as "the relative absence in the scientific literature of heterosexual teacher-pupil sexual events coupled with persistent, albeit infrequent, homosexual teacher-pupil sexual interactions" (p. 1232).

A subsequent paper by Cameron and others (Cameron, Proctor, Coburn, Forde, Larson, & Cameron, 1986) described data collected in a door-to-door survey in seven U.S. cities and towns, and generally repeated the conclusions reached in Cameron (1985). Even Cameron himself admitted that his conclusions in this study are "based upon small numbers of data points" (Cameron, 2005, p. 230). As before, male-male sexual assaults were referred to as "homosexual" molestations (e.g., Abstract, p.327) and the perpetrators' sexual orientation apparently was not assessed. This study also suffers from fatal methodological problems, which are detailed elsewhere on this site.

In yet another article published in Psychological Reports, Cameron claimed to have reviewed data about sexual abuse by foster parents in Illinois and found that 34% of the perpetrators had abused a foster child of their own sex, that is, female-female or male-male abuse (Cameron, 2005). Not only did Cameron again make the fallacious claim that all male-male molestations are committed by homosexuals, he also made the same claim about female-female molestations. Once again, he had no data about the actual sexual orientations of the molesters.

Cameron continues to produce reports that essentially repeat the same inaccurate claims. Perhaps one of the best indicators of his diminished credibility in this area is that his work was not even cited in the 2004 FRC report discussed in detail above.

    Conclusion

The empirical research does not show that gay or bisexual men are any more likely than heterosexual men to molest children. This is not to argue that homosexual and bisexual men never molest children. But there is no scientific basis for asserting that they are more likely than heterosexual men to do so. And, as explained above, many child molesters cannot be characterized as having an adult sexual orientation at all; they are fixated on children.

    Notes

    1. The survey was conducted under the auspices of the Kinsey Institute (Klassen, Williams, & Levitt, 1989). (return to text)

    2. Sexual abuse by women occurs but has not been well documented. Perhaps it is not surprising, therefore, that the child molester stereotype is applied more often to gay men than to lesbians. (return to text)

    __________________________
*This book explains that particular infiltration (other books do too): https://www.amazon.com/Goodbye-Good-...2806535&sr=8-1

** Not really pedophilia! That false term is preferred by the media - because it has a cultish agenda to disguise the true problem - unlike a good judge who wants the true facts to solve a problem. These homosexual priests, instead, overwhelmingly had a very different target: post-pubescent boys.

Kid survivors had their charts reviewed. Some abuse was reported to be by other kids. In a tiny number of cases no one was reported as the perpetrator. In cases where the accused was an adult, most assaults were by a married and STRAIGHT person that was married to a relative of the kid. AND the ppl identified who were also identified as homosexual WERE NOT so prevalent that more perpetration was indicated by people who are homosexual. ONLY 2 identified in a large sample size. Are Children at Risk for Sexual Abuse by Homosexuals?
Carole Jenny, Thomas A. Roesler and Kimberly L. Poyer
    Pediatrics July 1994, 94 (1) 41-44;

" In the remaining 269 cases, two offenders were identified as being gay or lesbian. In 82% of cases (222/269), the alleged offender was a heterosexual partner of a close relative of the child. Using the data from our study, the 95% confidence limits, of the risk children would identify recognizably homosexual adults as the potential abuser, are from 0% to 3.1%. These limits are within current estimates of the prevalence of homosexuality in the general community.

WHEN YOU SHARE UNTRUE IDEAS ABOUT A MUCH HARASSED GROUP BEING MORE LIKELY TO HURT KIDS AND YOU ARE NOT BASING THAT ON SCIENCE BUT ON YOUR PERSONAL ESTIMATION WHEN YOU LOOK AT A SUBSET OF CHILD ASSAULT (CATHOLIC CHURCH ASSAULT), YOU ARE MAKING IT MORE LIKELY THAT PEOPLE WHO CAN'T REASON WILL HARASS PEOPLE WHO ARE GAY AND ATTRACTED TO ADULTS (MOST GAY PEOPLE).

This forum gets thousands and thousands of views, Eliza. What you shared is dangerous. It is also untrue. Please ask the administrators to take it down when you've read the science.

Your ideas can be part of why some person out there hurts someone who is gay.

Default Othering and hate and conspiracy theory exposure

"In summary, the current research has demonstrated that exposure to intergroup conspiracy theories can directly

increase prejudice and discrimination. These effects have been established in two contexts: (1) concerning

immigrants and (2) concerning people of the Jewish faith. Exposure to intergroup conspiracy theories can also lead

to an attitude generalization effect – we showed that Jewish conspiracy theories led to increased prejudice

towards other groups such as Americans and Arabs. Together, this research suggests that conspiracy theories can

have a widespread negative impact on intergroup relations. Efforts to reduce prejudice and defuse negative

intergroup relations should, therefore, consider the contribution of popular and pervasive conspiracy

    theories."https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/bjop.12385

If only ~2% of US residents are homosexual and there are ~200,000 hate crimes a year and around a 1 in 7 of the hate crimes are homosexual-hating crimes, that means for the people numbering around 6 million, there can be thirty thousand homosexual survivors of hate crimes...every year. That's enormous. That's be like one million four hundred sixty-eight thousand one hundred eighty-one (1,468,181) hetero US citizens surviving a hate crime commited BECAUSE they are sexually attracted to people who pee differently than they do (heterosexual) AND someone else hates them for that...EVERY YEAR. That's enormous.

Anti-LGBT hate crimes are rising, the FBI says. But it gets worse

Oh yeah, "hate crimes". So wonderfully plentiful they are. So plentiful, in fact, that the definition of them is constantly expanding to the point that if I assume a combat stance in response to a person holding a sign that says in perfectly legible English "Kill All Men" or something equivalent I'm somehow the "istaphobe" that deserves everything that happens next despite the fact that I'm a male and they've clearly proclaimed their intent to kill me. Here's one for ya, how would you define the Governor of California's ban on Church attendance? Yeah, it took a Judicial fiat or two to make reality but let's compare hypotheticals.

Say a Governor forbade all parades, including the "gay" variety. How'd ya feel about that one? In this given example (that is expressed IRL BTW), the government is blatantly violating the 1st amendment. That precise decision (from a Catholic standpoint) is within the sole domain of the Bishop to make. Mine has ruled that you don't need to go and physically receive communion or even go to mass personally until further notice. He still recommends you do so if able and not one of the "at risk" groups though. My church isn't as full as it used to be when I attended the masses I did, but there are still a good amount of people willing to take the risk. Such is the importance of the holy sacrament to Catholics like myself. Who, unlike the fakers, know what that entails and proudly proclaim its truth.

Also, when's the last time you saw a youtube vid of a black muslim (censored apparently) getting lynched by Aryan ubermenschs? You know damn good and well that if it existed it'd be all over the news and shoved down our collective throats 24/7 for the next three months at the bare minimum. Where's that vid? I'm still waiting as if the MSM is to be trusted it must happen on an hourly basis...

Let's assume you're male and white. For two seconds, instead of taking criminalization of harassment of others as a personal encroachment on your liberties and a personal affront, examine the extensively scientifically and legally documented and personally psychologically demoralizing nature of these harassments. Reflect on the incredibly low reporting rate of hate crimes.

Look at how your callous indifference and emotional defensiveness gets processed by people who have to live in situations you don't.

    JULY 2020:

Black Americans report hate crimes, violence in wake of George Floyd protests and Black Lives Matter gains
    Wenei Philimon
    USA TODAY

Indiana officials are investigating a July Fourth weekend incident in which a white man is accused of yelling about a Black man "get a noose" and pinning him against a tree. This comes after nooses were found hanging in Las Vegas, Portland, Oregon, and Baltimore, a noose was used to target a Black person at work in Nebraska and a Black man at home in Delaware. It follows five Black men found hanging from trees in California, New York, Texas and New Jersey – all ruled as suicides, despite activists' calls for deeper investigations.

A range of disturbing incidents have happened since George Floyd's death and subsequent protests against racism and police brutality. In Illinois, a man was charged with a hate crime for allegedly riding his motorcycle into a protest and hitting two people. Authorities say a KKK leader tried to run his car through a group of peaceful protesters in Virginia. Video shows a white man accelerating his car toward a Black woman in a Wisconsin parking lot.

Also in Wisconsin, a white lawyer who allegedly spit on a Black teen protester was charged with a hate crime and a white man who allegedly burned Althea Bernstein, a biracial woman, with lighter fluid is being investigated for a hate crime.

Althea Bernstein shows the burns on her face after a group of four white men sprayed her with lighter fluid and threw a lighter at her in Madison, Wisconsin, amid protests June 24, 2020.
When it comes to symbols of faith, gunshots damaged a historically Black church in Kentucky and five white people face hate crime charges for an alleged attack on a Black pastor in Virginia.

When it comes to families, a viral video shows a white woman pointing a gun at a Black family in a Michigan parking lot and a Black Muslim woman and her two children allegedly had a gun pulled on them by their neighbor in Washington state.

Across the U.S., Black people have reported incidents of alleged hate crimes – criminal offenses motivated by bias. As the Black Lives Matter social justice movement has rallied demonstrators and gained support across racial groups, concerns have arisen about violent backlash targeting people of color, similar to the ones that have played out during previous movements against racism.

The incidents have left many Black Americans fearing for their safety.

"They feel afraid that there are violent racists who are going to go after them," says Roy Austin, a prominent Black lawyer who was the former deputy assistant attorney general of the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division.

    History of backlash
History has shown that during previous movements toward racial equity, white Americans responded with violence.

More than 4,400 Black people were killed by terror lynchings from 1887 to 1950, starting with the end of Reconstruction after the Civil War and through protests against discriminatory Black codes and Jim Crow laws, according to the nonprofit Equal Justice Initiative based in Montgomery, Alabama. Once Black men were able to vote, Southern states used many tactics to prevent them from casting ballots, including mob violence and lynching, according to the Constitutional Rights Foundation. Economic progress has also been met with violence, such as in Tulsa, Oklahoma, when what was known as "Black Wall Street," was destroyed in a 1921 massacre by a white mob, leaving hundreds of Black people dead thousands homeless. During the Civil Rights Movement, Black people were terrorized with police brutality, including the use of fire hoses and dogs.

A memorial to unknown racial terror lynching victims at the EJI Legacy Pavilion in Montgomery, Ala., on January 17, 2020. The Pavilion, which houses the EJI ticket office, a gift shop, a restaurant, a coffee shop, civil rights displays and a shuttle stop for the Legacy Museum and the Peace and Justice Memorial opens on January 18, 2020.
A year after the Black Lives Matter protests that began in 2014, sparked by the police shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, police killed more unarmed Black people, according to Mapping Police Violence. The number of people killed by law enforcement has remained steady – roughly 1,000 people per year – in each of the past four years, according to the Washington Post's "Fatal Force" project. In Black Lives Matter protests since 2014, police have responded with tanks and tear gas, firing rubber bullets and pushing protesters to the ground.

    Hate crimes are underreported
Though FBI Hate Crime Statistics showed a slight dip from 2017 to 2018, incidents of person-directed physical assaults (rather than property damage or vandalism) were up both year over year and compared to the past decade, said civil rights attorney Brian Levin, a professor and director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University, San Bernardino.

Activists say there are likely many more hate crimes going unreported.

Lecia Brooks, chief workplace transformation officer for the Southern Poverty Law Center, says the FBI's hate crime report is not reliable because its data collection is voluntary. Many law enforcement agencies report zero hate crimes in their cities or don't report to the FBI.

Many hate crimes may not be documented.Law enforcement officials tend to rule hangings as a suicide, for example, even when evidence points to a lynching, says Brooks.

"It’s hard when you don’t have trust between community members and law enforcement, which speaks to the fear of African American communities when they believe it could have been a lynching," Brooks says. "It’s indicative of radicalized trauma and trauma when someone is hanged.”

Relatives huddle outside the site of a funeral for Robert Fuller on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, in Littlerock, Calif. Fuller, a 24-year-old Black man, was found hanging from a tree in a park in a Southern California high desert city. Authorities initially said the death of Fuller appeared to be a suicide but protests led to further investigation, which continues.
Edward Dunbar, a clinical professor and psychologist at the University of California, Los Angeles, whose research focuses on hate crimes, says law enforcement in communities outside the South historically are more likely to report attacks against people of color as hate crimes.

"The best predictor of a state reporting hate crimes for the last 25 years is what side were you on for theCivil War," he says. "The Union has the highest reportage, the states that were on neither side have a reasonable number, and the Southern states have the lowest numbers."

Many victims do not report incidents of hate crimes because of distrust toward law enforcement, says Jeannine Bell, a professor at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, whose research focuses on systemic racism.

"Many African Americans do not trust law enforcement, so it’s understandable they would not report hate crimes," Bell said. "There is plenty of space for reforms to increase trust within the African American communities."

Even when they are reported, activists fear that in many recent cases, it will be difficult to prove a hate crime has occurred.

While most states have hate crime laws on the books, it can be difficult to prosecute these crimes because the government must prove the primary motivation for the offense is a bias against a protected class. In Iowa, for instance, two white men charged with assaulting a Black man have not been charged with hate crimes. Though they yelled racial slurs, it was not enough evidence to establish race as the primary motive, according to police.

DarQuan Jones speaks at a news conference next to his father, Daryl Jones Jr., in Des Moines, Iowa. Jones, 22, was assaulted by white men May 16 in a racially motivated attack, resulting in five facial fractures and a broken wrist. Jones said there was an attempt to drown him in a nearby creek, and at least one perpetrator repeatedly used racial slurs. As of Friday, June 19, 2020,, one suspect has been arrested and one additional warrant issued for arrest.
Law enforcement officials must ask the right questions, says Stacey Hervey, a professor at the Metropolitan State University of Denver whose research focuses on extremism and hate crimes. Hate crimes are identified by the language used, the identity of the perpetrator, prior hate crimes and witnesses' testimonies. The growth of cellphone videos also can help law enforcement officials prove a hate crime.

Incidents of police brutality, even when bias-motivated, are often not ruled as hate crimes, notes Jessica Hodge, a professor at the University of St. Thomas.

    Racist rhetoric can fuel violence
Election years can be particularly violent for minority groups when lawmakers target them as scapegoats, Levin says.

"When leaders make statements, it actually correlates with increases in hate crimes," says Levin. "When sociopolitical landscape gets divisive, often the group that is singled out for disdain is where we see an increase in hate crimes against that group."

There's been a recent uptick in anti-Asian crimes because of racist rhetoric surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, says Levin. President Donald Trump has referred to the virus as the "Chinese virus" and "Kung flu." According to the Pew Research Center, 3 in 10 Asian Americans say they've experienced slurs and jokes since the COVID-19 outbreak.

According to the Council on American-Islamic Relations' 2018 report, anti-Muslim hate crimes have increased by 74% since Trump's election. CAIR attributes the Muslim ban on the increase in hate crimes. Last month, gunshots were fired outside of an Indianapolis mosque, no one injured but a car outside the mosque was damaged. There was no arrest.

Anti-Latino hate crimes rose 21% in 2018, according to the FBI. In 2019, one of the deadliest anti-Latino attacks occurred in El Paso, Texas, when Patrick Crusius, a white gunman, killed 22 people in a Walmart. There's also been a myriad of harassment incidents, such as a gas station clerk telling Latino customers "they need to go back where they came from."

In recent weeks, Trump has been accused of inciting violence against Latino and Black Americans, warning about "tough hombre" criminals, calling the phrase Black Lives Matter "a symbol of hate" and promising to send "thousands and thousands of heavily armed soldiers" to quell protests.

Levin says this type of rhetoric is hate language that could result in more minorities being attacked.

“We’re very concerned because it’s such a turbulent time," says Levin.

Amid the reports of violence, some states have taken steps to strengthen hate crime laws.

Last week, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed a hate crime bill into law for the first time in the state's history. The measure will allow judges to increase punishment for crimes targeted against race, gender, sexual orientation, sex, national origin, religion, or physical or mental disability. Lawmakers pushed for the bill after the shooting of Ahmaud Arbery, a Black man whom authorities say was chased and killed by Gregory and Travis McMichael, who are both white, while he was jogging in February.

In Michigan, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said this week she would push for racially motivated 911 calls to be considered a hate crime.

“All Michiganders, no matter their community or the color of their skin, deserve equal treatment under the law,” Whitmer says in a news release.

This comes after a video went viral of Amy Cooper calling 911 after Christian Cooper, a Black bird-watcher in New York's Central Park, asked her to put her dog on a leash. On Monday, Cooper was charged with filing a false report when she claimed Cooper was threatening her.

Ibrahim Hooper, the spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, says people are coming together to combat alleged hate crimes.

“People are just not putting up with systemic racism anymore,” he says. “They’re fighting back against it, they are speaking out against it and joining together. It’s everyone recognizing that systemic racism has to go.”

On May 26, 2017, Jeremy Joseph Christian fatally stabbed two men and injured a third after he was confronted for shouting racist and anti-Muslim slurs at two teenage black girls, Destinee Mangum and Walia Mohamed, on a MAX Light Rail train in Portland, Oregon.[1][2] Two of the victims, Ricky John Best of Happy Valley and Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche of Portland, were killed; the third victim, Micah David-Cole Fletcher, survived serious wounds.

Christian, a white supremacist[1] and self-described white nationalist,[3] was arrested and indicted soon after the attack on charges of murder, attempted murder, and other crimes,[4][5] including a separate hate-crime assault the day before the fatal attack.[6] In February 2020, following a jury trial, Christian was found guilty on all counts.[2] Christian was sentenced on June 24, 2020, to two life terms.[7]

The attack was widely condemned by the Portland community, politicians, and civil rights groups, some of which said it represented a rise in hate speech,[8] racism,[9] and Islamophobic incidents in the United States.[8][10][11][12]

    Attack
At about 4:30 p.m. PDT on May 26, 2017, Jeremy Joseph Christian fatally stabbed two people and injured a third on a MAX Light Rail train,[13] after he was confronted for directing what the Portland Police Bureau's report later said "would best be characterized as hate speech toward a variety of ethnicities and religions" at two girls on a Metropolitan Area Express (MAX) light-rail train.[8][10] A witness reported that Christian used anti-Muslim slurs and "was screaming that he was a taxpayer, that colored people were ruining the city, and he had First Amendment rights".[13] Portland police described Christian "as yelling and ranting and raving a lot of different things, including what we characterized as hate speech or biased language".[14]

At the time, although not at its rush-hour peak, the train car was crowded, with all the seats filled and some passengers standing.[13] As the man continued ranting, the train operator was heard on the loudspeaker, saying "whoever is creating the disturbance needs to exit the train immediately".[13] The man continued, however,[13] directing his tirade at a 17-year-old Muslim, Somali girl, who was wearing a hijab, and her non-Muslim friend, a black girl, age 16.[15][16][17] The man told the girls to "go back to Saudi Arabia", to get out of "his country", and "said they were nothing and they should kill themselves".[15] He also reportedly said that "Muslims should die."[17] Fearful, the pair moved to the back of the train as three men—Ricky John Best, Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche, and Micah David-Cole Fletcher—stepped in to intervene in an attempt to de-escalate the situation.[13][14][15] According to a witness, Namkai-Meche told Christian in a loud voice: "You need to get off this train. Please, get off this train."[13] The witness said that the men attempted to form a barrier between Christian and the girls. Then Micah David-Cole Fletcher gave him "a slight push or shove" in an attempt to move him away. The man responded: "Touch me again, and I'm going to kill you."[13] According to police, Christian then fatally stabbed Best and Namkai-Meche, and injured Fletcher by slashing them in the neck with a knife.[18] At the Hollywood/Northeast 42nd Avenue Transit Center, passengers fled the car,[13] as did Christian. He ran into the Hollywood neighborhood chased by other passengers who had called 9-1-1.[17]

After Fletcher was stabbed, a man rushed to him and rendered first aid.[19] Three other men gave first aid to Best until EMS personnel arrived.[13] Medics were unable to revive Best and he was declared dead at the scene; Namkai-Meche later died at a local hospital.[13] The two girls also fled the train following the incident,[10] leaving their belongings behind.[17] After the attack, the station and MAX Light Rail trains were shut down in both directions for several hours.[14]

Following their arrival at the station,[14] police were able to locate Christian. A group of at least eight officers arrested him "on the north side of Providence Portland Medical Center, on an access road running along Interstate 84, just east of 47th Avenue, at 4:48 p.m.".[18] According to a police affidavit filed subsequently in court, during the arrest Christian threw a folding knife with a 3.75-inch (95 mm) blade which hit a police car and bounced off it.[20] The police affidavit also states that patrol car video footage shows Christian saying after his arrest, "I just stabbed a bunch of motherfuckers in the neck ... I can die in prison a happy man"[21] and about one of the men on the train who had confronted him, "That's what liberalism gets you."[20]

    Investigation
Christian was booked into the Multnomah County jail.[22] The FBI assisted Portland police in the investigation.[23] Renn Cannon, of the Portland FBI field office, said at the time, "It's too early to say whether last night's violence was an act of domestic terrorism or a federal hate crime."[24]

    Theft from a victim
In the early morning of June 2, 2017, police arrested 51-year-old George Elwood Tschaggeny, who lived in a small homeless camp near the platform where the train stopped after the attack. According to police and prosecutors, Tschaggeny removed the wedding band from Best's finger and stole Best's backpack and wallet. He was arrested after police viewed surveillance video showing the theft and obtained a community tip on the thief's identity. According to police, he was wearing Best's ring when he was arrested, and had the backpack and contents of Best's wallet.[25][26] Tschaggeny was a heroin addict.[27][28] He was arraigned on charges of identity theft, second-degree abuse of a corpse, first-degree theft and tampering with physical evidence.[29] After a guilty plea on November 14, 2017, he was sentenced to 13 months in jail followed by five years of probation[28] and court-supervised drug treatment.[27]

    Prosecution of Jeremy Joseph Christian
    Indictment and pretrial proceedings
Christian was charged with two counts of aggravated murder and one count of attempted murder, as well as three misdemeanors: two counts of second-degree intimidation and one count of being a felon possessing a restricted weapon.[10][14] At his arraignment on May 30, 2017, Christian began yelling a variety of slogans as soon as he entered the courtroom, shouting: "Get out if you don't like free speech. You call it terrorism, I call it patriotism. You hear me? Die."[20][30] He also yelled: "Leave this country if you hate our freedom—death to Antifa!"[30]

On June 6 the Multnomah County grand jury indicted Christian on 15 counts. Of these, 11 related to the May 26 stabbings (two counts of aggravated murder, one count of attempted aggravated murder, one count of first-degree assault, one count of second-degree assault, five counts of unlawful use of a weapon, three counts of second-degree intimidation and two counts of menacing) and four related to conduct the day before the stabbing, when Christian threw a plastic bottle at a black woman at the Interstate/Rose Quarter MAX Station.[31][32][33][34] Another outburst occurred at a brief, 85-second court appearance on June 7.[35] Christian shouted that he was not guilty and that he acted in self-defense against the "violent aggression by Micah Fletcher".[34] Christian pleaded not guilty to all charges.[36]

A Portland television station sought the release of warrants and affidavits related to the investigation; in October 2017, a federal judge denied the motion due to concerns that the release could prejudice potential jurors.[37] In November 2017, a bail hearing was held; Christian was denied bail.[38][39]

On November 1, 2019, pursuant to a new state law, Christian's aggravated murder charges were downgraded to first-degree murder, eliminating the possibility of the death penalty.[40]

    Trial, conviction, and sentencing
The trial was initially scheduled to begin in June 2019,[41] but was delayed for an additional six months to allow time for further pretrial proceedings.[4] The judge denied Christian's request for a change of venue.[42][43] Opening arguments for Christian's trial began January 28, 2020.[44] In February 2019, Christian's attorneys filed a notice indicating that, at trial, the defense planned to raise mental health defenses.[42][45] The defense team indicated that it might argue three such defenses: a "guilty except for insanity" defense,[45] asserting that Christian was so mentally disturbed as to be incapable of forming criminal intent;[42] a defense that Christian's mental illness made him only "partially responsible" for the offenses;[45] and a defense that Christian was acting under extreme emotional disturbance.[45]

At trial, prosecutors presented the testimony of 40 witnesses against Christian,[46][47] including Micah Fletcher, who was wounded in the stabbing.[46] A Portland homicide detective who interviewed Fletcher also testified, and showed the jury the folding knife that was used.[47] Cell phone videos and TriMet surveillance videos showing Christian stabbing the victims were introduced into evidence.[48] Extensive video and audiorecordings of Christian's post-arrest rantings were also played to the jury.[46] Christian did not testify in his own defense.[49] The attorneys made their closing arguments on February 19; after 11 hours of deliberation over two days, on February 21 the jury announced they unanimously found Christian guilty on all counts.[2] On June 24, 2020, Christian was sentenced to two consecutive life terms—one for each count of first-degree murder—with no possibility of parole. Christian was given an additional 51.5 years for related charges.[50] During the sentencing hearing, Christian was removed from the courtroom after an angry outbrust directed at one of his surviving victims.[7]

    Perpetrator's prior history

    Jeremy Christian
Jeremy Joseph Christian had been convicted previously of kidnapping and the robbery of a convenience store in May 2002, and sentenced to 90 months in prison for that offense.[20] During the robbery, he wore a ski mask, wielded a .38-caliber revolver, and handcuffed the store owner to a pole in the store; he was apprehended several blocks away from the store.[51][52] Christian was also arrested in 2010 on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and theft, but those charges were later dropped.[53] Christian "told officials he is a transient and doesn’t know the last time he had a permanent address." [54] He held extremist views, posting neo-Nazi, antisemitic, and far-right material on social media,[55][56] as well as material indicating an affinity for political violence.[15] Christian described himself as a white nationalist.[3] The Oregonian noted that Christian made many contradictory Facebook posts, but that such contradictions are typical of extremists. It said his posts "reveal a comic book collector with nebulous political affiliations who above all else seemed to hate circumcision and Hillary Clinton". At times he expressed support for Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, although he wrote he did not vote.[56][57] According to friends and acquaintances Christian's actions were becoming increasingly unstable, and he was in need of mental help, but he had not been given a formal diagnosis.[58]

In April 2017, Christian wrote, "I just Challenged Ben Ferencz (Last Living Nuremberg Persecutor [sic]) to a Debate in the Hague with Putin as our judge. I will defend the Nazis and he will defend the AshkeNAZIs [a reference to European Jews]."[59] He praised Timothy McVeigh in an online posting on April 19, the anniversary of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.[56][60] He also "posted conspiracy theory memes from the right-wing Alex Jones Channel".[56]

According to The Portland Mercury, Christian was a "known right-wing extremist and white supremacist".[61] He had participated in various alt-right rallies in Portland.[55] One month before the stabbing, Christian appeared at the right-wing March for Free Speech in Portland's Montavilla Park. He wore a Revolutionary War-era flag of the United States, and carried a baseball bat, which police confiscated. He gave Nazi salutes, and used a racial slur at least once.[61][62] At the event, Christian was videotaped shouting "Die, Muslims!"[56] The day before the killings Christian had made racial threats on another train, threatened a conductor, and hurled a bottle at a black woman who then maced him, as seen on cell phone videos.[63] Christian told police that he had dropped out of high school, but later earned his high school equivalency and took classes at Portland Community College for a year. He identified himself to police as a transient who did "not know the last time he had a permanent address" and lived with friends and family.[52]

    Victims
Ricky John Best, 53, of Happy Valley, died at the scene. He was a technician for the City of Portland's Bureau of Development Services, a U.S. Army veteran, and a father of four children.[64][65] In 2012, he retired from the Army after more than twenty years of service.[64]

Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche, 23, of Ashland, died at a hospital shortly after the attack. He had recently graduated from Reed College with a degree in economics and worked for the Cadmus Group consulting firm.[64][65][66] A passenger who helped him reported his last words: "Tell everyone on this train I love them."[13]

Micah David-Cole Fletcher, 21, survived and was treated at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center for serious but not life-threatening wounds, specifically a knife injury to his throat.[64][67] The attacker severed Micah's left jugular vein.[64] while narrowly missing his carotid artery by one millimetre (0.039 in). Fletcher was released from the hospital in time to attend Christian's arraignment on May 30, 2017.[68] Fletcher, a student at Portland State University, won a poetry contest in 2013 while he was a junior in high school with a poem about Islamophobia in the United States.[69]

Christian and Fletcher had both attended a "free speech" rally in Montavilla about a month prior to the attack. Christian was with a right-wing group, while Fletcher was a counter-protester.[70]

Destinee Mangum, one of the two girls harassed by the assailant, expressed her gratitude to the three men who stepped in to help her.[15]

    Vigil on May 27

Memorial for victims at the Hollywood Transit Center
Hundreds of people gathered near the Hollywood Transit Center on the evening of May 27 for a candlelight vigil to honor the victims.[71][72] Three crowdfunding campaigns set up to help the victims' families raised $1 million by May 29.[73] Muslims in Portland said they were thankful for the support of the community after the attack.[74] Wadji Said of the Interfaith Council of Portland compared the attack to the 1988 murder of Mulugeta Seraw, an Ethiopian immigrant who was slain by a group of racist skinheads in Portland.[55]

    Politicians and officials
Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler called the victims of the attack "heroes" in a statement released on May 27. He continued saying "their actions were brave and selfless, and should serve as an example and inspiration to us all". Governor of Oregon Kate Brown echoed this sentiment, calling on all Oregonians to come together: "Let's not let hate and fear divide us. Instead let's take the example of the good Samaritans who sacrificed their lives for the safety of others and unite for a kinder, gentler Oregon."[24] In the wake of the stabbings, the mayor called on the federal government to withhold a permit for a "Trump Free Speech Rally" at Terry Schrunk Plaza, a federal enclave adjacent to city hall. The mayor said on Twitter that the rally "can only exacerbate an already difficult situation" in the city.[75][76] He also called for withholding a permit for an ACT! for America rally at the same location.[76] The ACLU of Oregon criticized the mayor's remarks.[77] ACT! for America subsequently cancelled its planned anti-Muslim march in Portland, moving it to Seattle.[78][79]

Former candidate for the 2016 presidential election Hillary Clinton called the incident "heartbreaking" and said that "No one should have to endure this racist abuse. No one should have to give their life to stop it."[80] Oregon's U.S. Senators, Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, expressed their grief and condolences for the victims.[81] Merkley urged President Trump to "speak out personally against the rising tide of Islamophobia and other forms of bigotry and racism in our nation that he has provoked through his numerous statements, policies and appointments".[10] U.S. Representatives Suzanne Bonamici and Earl Blumenauer of Oregon, Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, and other officials also gave their condolences.[81] U.S. Representative Keith Ellison of Minnesota, the first Muslim elected to Congress, said that the three men "exhibited the best qualities of American heroes".[64] President Trump delayed commenting on the stabbing attack, leading to public pressure on him to do so. Later, a message was posted on Trump's presidential Twitter account, stating "The violent attacks in Portland on Friday are unacceptable. The victims were standing up to hate and intolerance. Our prayers are w/ them."[82][83] The Portland police contacted the Muslim community to discuss increased patrolling during Ramadan. The bureau's spokesperson said, "Our thoughts are with the Muslim community. As something like this happens, this only instills fear in that community."[14]

    Organizations
The Anti-Defamation League, in a statement by its CEO Jonathan Greenblatt, offered its condolences to the victims, praised the heroism of bystanders who intervened, and said: "The deadly attack in Portland is not a rare or isolated event. Rather, this is the latest in a long string of violent incidents connected to right-wing extremists in the United States... This consistent threat requires consistent resources and we call on our leaders to condemn this brutal act of terror and craft policy to counter all forms of violent extremism, including white supremacy."[84]

The Council on American–Islamic Relations asked President Trump to denounce "rising bigotry" and violence against Muslims. The organization's executive director said, "President Trump must speak out personally against the rising tide of Islamophobia and other forms of bigotry and racism in our nation that he has provoked through his numerous statements, policies and appointments that have negatively impacted minority communities."[10] Imtiaz Khan, who serves as president of the Islamic Center of Portland, said: "We are very sad. Ramadan started just a couple of hours ago. We are very sorry for the two men who tried to do the right thing.... Of course people from the Muslim community are concerned. And, unfortunately, the easy targets are women because of the headscarf."[85] Khan also praised the two men who were slain, saying they "really sacrificed everything. They really stood up for the values of the Constitution."[22]

Harris Zafar with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Portland said the actions of the men who stepped in to defend the Muslim women inspired him.[71] The Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon expressed grief for the tragedy and hoped it would "draw Muslim communities together".[81]

What I shared is the TRUTH. Just the facts. I did NOT share ANY untruths. I shared TRUE facts about a subject I have studies intensely. If you don't believe it, research it yourself. It is out there in spades. Because your ideas on that are WRONG. The TRUE facts related to sexual abuse should not be "taken down" and hidden! You sound cultish, nanashi!

Above, as you stated, that child sexual abuse is largely perpetrated by family members or those trusted by family members is true. Its a sick world we live in, with almost no censorship for pornography, which fuels the sick minds of those who do this. Pornography SHOULD BE OUTLAWED!

    A) This isn't a theocracy like Iran and Saudi Arabia.

    B) See A.

    C) You have to convince people of your viewpoint in a representative democracy. You have to take into account what laws and challenges exist. IF YOU REALLY want abortions to stop, support policies that make them less likely. You're currently supporting a policy that will mean they happen still. What DOES decrease abortions? Sexual education. Poor girls and boys having access to higher education (most poor kids can't afford college, but kids who DO have academic futures in their own minds DELAY having sex). Access to contraceptives (many poor adults don't even have enough money for enough food, and that makes the most preventative contraceptives seem like luxuries). Support a social net for people. A lot of abortions happen because someone recognizes how shit the economy is and loses hope that the 'village' will help keep them and their kid alive. Stop shaming women for having babies when someone didn't give them a piece of paper and jewelry first. Recognize that since we have this system where our young are living off our personal bodies, there are going to be cases where continuing that isn't desired by the person who's being lived off of. Sometimes they're afraid. Sometimes they're desperate. Usually they're profoundly unsupported. They can't legally be forced to let someone else continue to live off of their body without that opening up the rules to including us using each other as generators.

I'm not saying it isn't upsetting.

I'm not saying you can't be passionate.

I'm saying if you actually care about this, be effective. The policies you're supporting are NOT EFFECTIVE.

LOOK AT WHAT ACTUALLY REDUCES ABORTIONS.

OUTLAWING ABORTING DOES NOT IRRADICATE ABORTING

And you shared your unmathematical and dangerous and NON-factual extrapolations from incomplete data. That's not 'just sharing the facts,' Eliza. (I'm saying this in a serious, gentle voice, not yelling at you)

    Your link doesn't work.

Gays getting blamed for being pedos again eh? This the 1950s again?

Real pedophiles don't usually have have a gender preference. That's kinda the point, you know. They're turned on by kids not specific genders. As far as I know the official data states that heterosexual men are more likely to be pedophiles anyway- but does it really matter? If you really want to protect kids from pedos then do that but don't drag gay men into this. It sounds Karen-y to bring this up in this thread, how bizarre. (but I figured I had to say something) You say "good moral gay men" should back up what you're saying lol, but I think that's ridiculous if what you are saying is nonsense.

The "homosexual" priests rape/molest boys thing has to do with sexuality is already stunted/regressed in those individuals - and religion makes a good cover story + represses their natural sexual urges enough where they come out as pedophiliac. A child is more of their 'equal' than an adult is and they get confused. I'm not defending what they are doing but you should understand that lot of them probably don't even realize how "wrong" it is because of how being conditioned by religion repressed things for them. I only say this because many times as as society people love to sit on their moral high grounds and point the figure at people and shout 'You know how wrong it is to do that , you know you know you know! *angrily stomps feet like Regina Hurt* You're a demon and I'm the good guy!' Religion itself exacerbates this thing very much, and it's more to blame in all reality but religious ppl would never see it this way because of how 'good' religious people think they are.

Calm down. Breathe. Get off your Unhealthy Enneagram 1 high horse. They might actually not know how 'wrong' it is. Of course it is wrong, obviously to us, but maybe try teaching them that instead of judging them. Only God can do that anyway though (or punish them if they don't listen). They are probably most likely NOT GAY as well- and would do the same exact creepy things to a baby toddler girl as well. Get educated and out of Bible Swamp Hell. Not everything about a worldly education is evil or bad.

Pedophilia probably emotionally bothers you a lot and I understand that, but it doesn't come from 'demonic Satanic energy' or any of that nonsense- many times pedos were abused themselves by other pedos and are just acting out to what was done to them. People like to make fun of Kevin Spacey nowadays but it's now been revealed that his own dad probably sexually abused him while he grew up. Or their natural sexuality got warped somehow and they are unable to connect/bond with people their own age and have to be turned on by kids because they aren't mentally healthy for any real adult their own age.

So who threw the first punch then? Who was the Idea of Pedophlia? If many pedos were also abused themselves- it doesn't make sense for us to vilify them completely even if it 'feels good' and makes us feel faux-righteous, which I'm pretty sure Jesus warned about. "They should know better." Are you telling me that you do everything 'good' even when you do know better? It doesn't matter who threw the first punch, really. It doesn't matter if gay males are more likely to abuse kids- or straight males- it actually doesn't matter. It should truly be about protecting children, not starting a war on people's sexualities or vilifying pedophilia to hide the stench of our own sins.

Even if you could somehow prove (I highly doubt it) beyond a reasonable doubt that gay males were more likely to abuse children- it still doesn't give people the right to take away our equal rights- thinking they are more 'in the right' if we are fundamentally 'wrong'- because it doesn't work that way. Shitty things that minorities do/might potentially do shouldn't and doesn't determine how we treat them under the law. Maybe society's intolerance and cruelty of gay males driven them to be pedophiles as it naturally abused their own sexuality and didn't foster it from birth. When people always treat you like you're 'wrong' or disgusting/filthy - don't act all shocked or surprised when people only behave the way they were taught to be. It's not an excuse or a justification- but perhaps a greater awareness/understanding.

And gay males are all different for the 150th bloody time. Jeffrey Dahmer liked to hear people's heart beats in his classroom. Cuz he was a creepy killer not cuz he was a 'homo.' I don't GIVE A FLYING FUCK WHAT PEOPLE'S HEARTS SOUND LIKE LITERALLY.

I could ask a great many questions, but I won't because I've learned the hard way that logic and reason are but further things that we irrationally use as clubs to beat each other into submission in regards to any and all concepts of "debate" we may hold. I may respond to it, but you will attempt to use that against me in such a way that'll prove my hypothesis that you're a damn dirty sophist who only cares about my attachment to Platonic/Aristotelian logic insofar as you can use that a cudgel to beat me into becoming yet one more death cultist like yourself. I didn't want to point you out as such, but I'm now quite certain you serve your father below. You're probably genetically white yourself so why not follow your own advice eh? If you want me to die to attone for my sin of being white I can only ask you to do the logical thing and demand that you "go first" as it were.

Yes, I am Male and White (mostly, I seem to have a good chance of being German, Native American, Irish, French, Black, and a whole lot of other things. Fun fact about being a "white" or "black" American, you're likely so mongrelized genetically you probably can't legit claim to be anything either minority or majority). They say your skin color is your uniform in the "racist" circles, but here in America, you got plenty of examples of how that may not necessarily be true. Pale skinned Indians, Dark skinned skinheads, Naturally blond haired blue eyed blacks... Rare though they are, they are possible in this land of the free, the outcasts who emphatically told "the old world" to go fuck itself. If only we had stayed out of those 2 world wars of BS...

Also, you cited justice.gov as an absolute and objective source. So you take those who glow radiantly in the dark as objective sources? As us faithful in Christ know all too well, sin dims the intellect. Mayhap you try not sinning for a bit and see if your IQ jumps a few points? Just putting that little seed out there.

The identity politic cesspool featuring kamala poop for brains harris queen of the bag ladies rachel dolezal can of spraytan lookalike failed her bar exam twice turned Judge Barret's judicial confirmation hearing into a block party shit show. Poop for brains and that troll Cory Booker, along with club-foot Klobuchar (and by the way klobuchar is at least tougher than either of those clowns who belong to the first-tier primary dropouts with Beta bitch O'Rourke the weakest of the flock)...a junior high school baseball team could come up with a better list of questions than that...

what a contrast between a total loser Kamala Poop for Brains who only got anywhere in life because of non merit based liberal policies like affirmative action versus Amy Coney Barret who was the legitimate top of her class

little kamala harris the hospice CNA and her dementia patient Biden can't even answer a simple question about packing the Court....that's the most pathetic part of this entire confirmation kangaroo hearing....neither her nor dementia joe the creepy molester could level with the American People about packing the Court...a simple fckin' question

This is all after you were pretending to hate Trump?

Trump gets covid (LOFUCKINGL) and now he hires a perfectly respectful, social climber with ambition to be the top judge in the country.

Why do you even resonate so much with this story? Don't you have some van to drive around and earn $$$?

I haven’t read any of her rulings and I don’t know much about her legal philosophy but from what I understand, at least on a general level, she’s a Textualist and reads the law as it is, not what it should be. Scalia was a Textualist and LSI and she clerked for him. She likely believes the same as Scalia, “It is about identifying the plain communicative content of the words". By that simple tidbit, I would guess she’s a Ti ego, leaning on Beta ST. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s LSI.
