Really anything by Death Grips could qualify.

I don't consider Purity Ring to be weird, but they are creative to say the least.... and I just feel like posting this.

Important to note! People who share "indentical" socionics TIMs won't necessarily appear to be very similar, since they have have different backgrounds, experiences, capabilities, genetics, as well as different types in other typological systems (enneagram, instinctual variants, etc.) all of which also have a sway on compatibility and identification. Thus, Socionics type "identicals" won't necessarily be identical i.e. highly similar to each other, and not all people of "dual" types will seem interesting, attractive and appealing to each other.

    Boards of Canada

Something eerily nostalgic about these next two videos. A childhood remembered through the context of memory that is smeared with a Freudian nightmare.

Man's knowledge has come so far in such a short amount of time.

There is something life affirming as well as deeply disturbing about the emptiness of space.

It does not get much weirder then Inuit throat signing...

Throat signing is a game the Native peoples of the tundra play. Mostly women. Both players directly face each other until their noises are almost touching. Then they "sign" by continuously breathing through their mouths. The game is a type of copy cat - you play until your opponent trips up. Tanya Tagaq is a modern, traditional throat signer from Nunavut, a territory in the far north.

If you want to see her do it live, this performance is equally intimate as well as weird ---->

You want to go somewhere really primal? Have a listen from start to finish.

As one youtube commenter succinctly puts it:
"I don't know about you, but this is fucking Metal"

Speaking of weird, I think honourable mention needs to go to Bjork. She has been making weird music and dominated the scene of "different" for more then two decades. These are some of her hits that I have listened two. For alternate synths and offbeat music videos, Bjork has been pushing the envelope in music for a long time as so I think she fits in nicely with the thread's theme.

All is full of love. Amen

She even did a song wth Tanya several years ago. This one is weird.

They are an older band, but anything by the Moody Blues is pretty weird and also easy on the ears.

They were doing Rock and Roll Orchestra and really experimental stuff in the 1970's, as electronic music and synthesizers came into being. This song in particular features traditional rock and roll, mixed with eery choir ensemble, large orchestra sound, poignant and power lyrics with a message that could be interpreted in many ways, depending on the listener, and a massive finish. I am a sucker for great, 7 minute long musical adventures. I especially love the poem at the end. I know, weird.

    Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bedsitter people look back and lament
    Another day's useless energy spent

    Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young

Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right
    And which is an illusion?
I just like this next one. I like the lyrics, I like the chorus. It reminds me of my Dad when I was a kid. Moody Blues blasting on the car stereo for highway trips. Probably why I am influenced right now. Anyway, it is weird by today's standards, and I could imagine even weird back then.

Richie Havens first came on the scene at Woodstock in the 1970s. He is a guitarist who plays both originals and covers. It's his covers that blow my fucking mind and in many instances are better then the originals. He is not overly well known, but his sound and his personality could be argued were the singular voice of the Freedom movement.

His deep, raspy voice and energetic guitar arrangements give his music a life of its own. I guess this could be considered weird, I don't fucking care I love it. Here is a reimagined Beetles song Here Comes the Sun.

I know where this song is at. Its all mixed together, that fire and rain. Its just a really beautiful guitar piece and Richie just has this light about him.I am not a religious man, but I know when he is talking about when he says "I knew I would see you again." That's that coming home shit.

Richie died a couple years ago. I remember hearing the news on the radio. "You can't turn back the hands of time" Rest in peace in brah.
