    Overheard in a Kroger store.

The twenty-something female EII behind the counter was talking to her workmate.

"I made an entire plate of food, but I only ate half of it."

Passing older male LSE: "That's because you're wasteful!"

EII, sarcastically "Yeah, that's the reason."

I told my LSE friend that I just want to work a job that I actually want. He told me "You think I like my job?!" implying that I should just take any job I can get. I told him he choose to work his job, so if he doesn't like it he could choose to work somewhere else. He then goes off on me about how he didn't choose to work there but he did it to man up and take care of his mother. It kinda turned into a little argument after that. But if that isn't classic Fi vs Te idk what is.

LSE: I think — is leaning towards —now lol

    The nice —

    Me: WTH
    What changed his mind?

LSE: I explained to him how it has all the IFR gauges installed which would cost 20k in other planes
Two stages of gauges, VFR is basic, IFR is advanced instruments
So a vfr plane is not as advanced as an IFR equipped one
Ones he liked are all VFR
One I like is both. lol
Need both for commercial license training
—— has already been training me in IFR waay ahead of schedule

Me: I feel like you are taking in a different language, so I will take your word for it

LSE: Only need VFR for basic license and I’m already IFR qualified

    Me: What is VFR
    And IFR

LSE: Vfr means visual flight reference. Mainly use eye sight to find location and standard old style gauges like compass etc to navigate
IFR means instrument flight reference, meaning you can fly a plane with zero visibility outside just using gauges.
Most IFR planes now also have modern gps onboard and show you exactly where you are. Actually more advanced but easier
Vfr is flying old school basically

    Me: Oh, I see
    More dangerous probably
    Could fly more with IFR

LSE: Commercial airline planes are all IFR flown using gauges
    And computers

Me: Are there any new planes that aren’t IFR

LSE: IFR definitely safer for long trips
    All new ones are IFR

    Me: Figured
lol, sounds like you found a good thing to change his mind

LSE: Modern IFR that’s state of the art stuff can cost over 100k for a small plane
    It’s just basic math

@aster, he's right, of course. Basic math only uses zeros and ones.

    me: gets ice cream
hubs: looks in shopping bag "this is for me!"
me: don't eat it all in one sitting; goes for a walk - 10 minutes; comes back
hubs: I ate the ice cream you got ME.
me: you weren't supposed to eat all of that
hubs: it was only a pint besides it was for ME.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

(EII) Crossed paths with a particularly brash LSE because my friends play flag football and I join them from time to time.

    1st conversation-
He was trying to herd a bunch of tipsy people and failing. Caught up with him and said, "What do you want?"
LSE: "What? Why do you care?"
EII: "They won't follow you unless you give them a reason"
LSE: "I'm trying to take them to pocha (Korean drink/food place)"
    EII: "Then, say that instead"
    LSE: "Oh"

    Few months later-

Predictably, he noticed my attraction to another player (SLI) and cornered me. I didn't want him to getting involved, so I bluffed.

EII: "What if you are the one that I like?"
LSE: "What? You like me? Since when?"
    EII: "So then?"
LSE: "Well, you are objectively attractive- everyone knows that
... but..." (for the record, I am average at best)
EII: "I'm not your type because I'm not Asian, right?"
    LSE: "Well, yes"
EII: have no reason to be upset, but feels like a bee sting to the face
