    Default ISideWith 2020 Presidential Quiz

Probably a bit too soon to have this, but I took just so I could follow the election more closely.

For your result, it also gives (national?) party stats as well as Senate stats for your state. (I don't actually have a state).

I didn't know how to answer some of the questions, but here is a partial list of my results:

    Party:
    Green 70%
    Democratic 66%
    Socialist 66%
    ...
    Republican 29%

    President:
    Bernie Sanders 71%
    Elizabeth Warren 71%

Libertarianism isn't a system of thought. It's mostly different political ideologies that have individual freedom as their first priority. Most criticisms of it are that it is too principled without making concessions to reality, yes, and that can be seen as Te criticism.

I type Ayn Rand LIE. She wrote fiction novels to convey a picture of her ideal human being. According to Peter Bartl/Expat, who researched Ayn Rand's life better than I have, she only turned to non-fiction writing after Nathaniel Branden convinced her to do so because her fiction writing was ineffective in getting through to the general public. Leonoard Peikoff (possibly a beta rational), who Rand designated as her "intellectual heir" gave her philosophy a more formal structure. Nowadays Ayn Rand Institute tries to present her philosophy as something internally consistent, but it wasn't at the onset. There are many seeming contradictions in her novels, for example, in Atlas Shrugged capitalism is portrayed as the ideal system and yet love of money for its own sake is seen a decadent.

Obviously the statement that betas can't be libertarians is a pretty stupid one, no offense to Shotgun, if he's being serious.

Then read Strat and Gulenko on quadras lmao.

Beta quadra - the quadra of central collectivists, is characterized by public (state) property combined with authoritarian power. This combination allows large territories to be united and kept under a single management for a long time.

Beta necessarily maintains a strict hierarchy of seniors and vassals, or, in modern terms, a rigid management vertical. For the first time, we find a detailed justification of the necessity and main functions of the state from beta positions in the famous "Leviathan" by T. Hobbes. The philosopher proves that the state, like the sea monster Leviathan, should cause fear and awe in its subjects.

Beta types are thus the most pronounced and consistent statists. But the forms of statehood are evolving. Military-vassal relations over time are replaced by the institution of bureaucracy - the apparatus of the Beta quadra at a later stage of its development, when the transition to the Gamma quadra is already taking place.

However, it is wrong to think that the Second Quadra cannot exist without despotism. The ideal of government in the Second Quadra is an enlightened monarch. In Plato, as you know, philosophers should have ruled the state. In ancient times, this ideal was embodied in Marcus Aurelius, who was not only a successful emperor, but also a talented philosopher.

    Source: https://socioniks.net/article/?id=17

    Strat: http://wikisocion.net/en/index.php?t...Stratiyevskaya

Well I'm not one. I fit Gulenko's & Strat's beta description. Unironically. Which is odd, because when typing me I didn't utter a word to him about it, and was typed beta regardless.

How I see individualism vs collectivism:

“For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.” ― Rudyard Kipling, The Jungle Book

So, both extremes are negatives in my eyes. Proper well functioning society is a careful synthesis of individualism and collectivism into one organic system. This yields the most stable power for both parties. Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno

e_e therfor anything that is pure individualist I reject as well as anything that is pure collectivist where the individual is a mere cog in the machine I will also logically reject.

libertarianism is a Gamma quadra wet dream.

    @shotgunfingers

I don't think Gulenko means for the idea of quadra progession to apply to individual ideology - he types social liberal democrat Macron as EIE same type he types Lenin, H!tler etc.

It can be like Duschia said where beta types might be attracted to libertarianism because it takes apart the system and allows a power vaccum which can then allow them to create new hierarchy.

Different types will have a different attitude towards authority and such things, and taking the example of Macron, while he speaks of individualism and liberal values, he himself is pretty authoritarian, in his behavior and speech, tries to maintain order in his country in a rather vertical way. So I don't think that individual views are shaped by type, however the way in which one applies those views are.

I agree with the idea you need a mix of collective and individual emphasis in politics.

Yes, that is true. Macron strictly enforces liberal values. He is still authoritarian and a statist, its not like he will go full decentralization. Macron is not a libertarian. He is a authoritarian statist with liberal values.

in politics it is as Machiavelli said, power first, ideology second. If you don't have power and are bad at realistically keeping it.. your ideology means nothing. A lot of the time ideology gets in the way of doing any good.

He's not libertarian, my point is just that Gulenko often describes the values Macron speaks on (gender equality, freemarkets, free speech etc) as gamma values and beta as being opposed to such values - which I think might be wrong.

You can judge how a quadra relates to power, but a person's stance on things like markets and gender roles are determined by the individual, not the qaudra.

Those are too specific imo. Quadras describe tendencies based on functions, not specific ideologies. I'm not a communist, even if Stalin (LSI) was one
