I dunno... Squall becomes the commander of the garden, is the most powerful player character and his last name is Leonhart, which is basically lion heart, which meaning to possess or display courage. Not that LIIs can't be courageous, but its a quality I'd associate more with LSIs. I say Squall is an LSI-Ti.

For a drama - pay the attention to beta tastes.
Seems duality (he EIE, she LSI) which leaded to... I suspect she wanted to depart and did this not correctly (could behave in too insulting way), so he killed her.
Huge difference in the age. Good IR could partly compensate this negative factor in a perception. It was not short time relations and after ~3 years many pairs tend to depart or notice lesser interest to each other, what could be in this case too.
