    Default Etsy

What are some of your favorite craft stores on Etsy? As a side note, I always find it baffling when Etsy tries to advertise artists and almost all of them are super "normie" and make things that are both the same style and quality as things you can find at Target, and look like things for decorating "budget" hotels.

    Here's a goth sculptor: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Dellamorte...g_id=224065527
Goth and metal fashion and sculpture: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TORVENIUS?...g_id=708998616
Book themed fashion and gifts: https://www.etsy.com/shop/LiteraryEm...g_id=570565229
Best quality incense I've found: https://www.etsy.com/shop/paradisest...g_id=106136513

    Nature ceramics with glitter: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ModernMud?...g_id=713695983
Another style (not surprised this is in Albequerque at all): https://www.etsy.com/shop/EssaraiCer...g_id=538226881

    Custom gun holsters: https://www.etsy.com/shop/OldRepubli...g_id=618551824
    More medieval sculptures: https://www.etsy.com/shop/AlberichDe...g_id=666318160
    Knives! also paracord: https://www.etsy.com/shop/WarmKnives...g_id=663391132
Swiss army knives and Victorinox/Muela: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SwissArmyK...g_id=598340097
    Epic houseplants: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ElementalB...g_id=679310997
Symbol jewelry (if you could want it, they have it): https://www.etsy.com/shop/DanubeJewe...g_id=578714910

This post has been brought to you by capitalism. Now, post ones you like to look at. If you have an Etsy store post it. I might post mine despite the fact that I just informed crazy people of places to buy knives and gun holsters.

I bought a few things from Etsy once and the quality was a bit below what I expected. I was disappointed that I couldn't help these people out more. Sometimes, the items do look so pretty that I want to buy all of them

Where did you buy from? All the stuff I got was exactly what I expected.

I bought a homemade pillow and leather journal (unused since I became a vegetarian). I don't remember the stores but the pillow was a bit dusty and the leather journal was much smaller than expected.. minor things, but it made me rethink buying from etsy. I didn't want to spend so much time sending their items back and forth through shipping either, figured it'd be a hassle. So I just stopped buying.

I think that depends on which store you buy from. A lot of the ones I like also have Amazon, eBay, and/or their own sites too (never mind brick-and-mortar stores,) but even a lot of the ones that don't seem to be ways some artists and crafters earn middle-class and possibly upper-class incomes. I guess you just need to read reviews and ask questions if you're not sure about things. You can also get custom items made that way.

Ah, this was also in the early days so maybe things weren't as polished? I'll give it another go and see what I can find.

Oh, here's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/622107590/you-can-spinem-and-you-can-cut-with-them I would probably get one and put it on display so people can look at it and freak out if they weren't all themed about something I knew nothing about because I don't want to have conversations about Marvel. I hear too much about Marvel and it needs to stop.

Anyways, since most people here don't talk like they have a life beyond things that happen to them (though I know at least some people do and don't discuss it for various reasons,) maybe some of you could consider making an Etsy shop if there's anything you like to make or collect but you don't want to keep all of it? It really isn't just people grovelling for money, though I do think most are successful hobbyists rather than professionals, which just makes entry easier.
