Default Do You Ever Appreciate Your PoLR Function?

For me, there are a lot of people who are 'Se' who do not have a mean-streak or angry streak and I therefore can appreciate them. Examples would be Amy Schumer or Will Smith from this list: https://www.the16types.info/vbulleti...es-with-Videos. Actually, I wonder if I value Se, and it's just that people like Clint Eastwood or 'The Godfather' are associated with the function, and I therefore don't like it. Really, it is anybody with an angry streak that I do not like...

That is debatable. Any single person's typing is debatable, as we are not anywhere near socionics being a hard science. I just used a list and picked a name I liked off of it... It would be the same even if it were a celebrity benchmark list...

Yes, each fonction is a wonder when used in a healthy way... also interesting when it's clearly led by madness...
    ... when watched from afar.

Not sure. Assuming I have Fi-PoLR, it'd be nice to understand people better. I'd be wary of losing my objective neutrality if I allowed myself to become sentimental.

As what I assume is Fi-role, understanding people is neither a priority nor a complete disinterest for me... Most people I don't understand, and it doesn't bother me either way...

Also, for me, Fi doesn't mean morality, as there are people who are 'SEE', 'IEE', etc. whose ethics are just complete poop...

I do appreciate it in others, but don't really want to develop it much tho. Just because I don't have much values in things doesn't mean everyone shouldn't have too, either way the world must be a boring place.

I just need to control it in a way people wouldn't be hurt with my action, at least.

    I think it's useful.

What I don't get is Te for its own sake when it's not useful. I.e. Some deltas think it's really funny making a contraption or finding a clever way to do something you could have done any other way.

Yeah, certain people might need it. For me at least it is the most bothersome to talk about feelings which I assume all Te types like to do.

Actually, I can't ever remember any Te-doms talking about their feelings to me. I am way out of the circle in that sense. Way, way out.

I never used to talk about my feelings, either. Not ever.

I think I talk about them here because I'm in crisis and this is therapy. But when I talk to other LIE's about my feelings, it is like I'm talking about my alien abduction and I can tell that they lose respect for me.

Well, fuck 'em. They haven't walked in my shoes. Yet.

I told this one LIE-Te not to sell his company. "You'll be marginalized", I said. Well, he sold his company because he got tired of working that hard and he thought that the new owners would keep him around and listen to his wise advice.
    Wrong.
Now he gets to start over from scratch.
This LIE guy is also on his second wife, an LII Extinguishment partner. They fight all the time. She told me that if he tried to divorce her, she'd take him for every cent he has.
But this guy doesn't share his feelings and he knows everything. Such a smart guy.

To compensate for my thread derail, I'll say Yes, I super-appreciate my PoLR function. I realized early that I suck at Si and I need someone to help me with it, so I married an SLI, partly based on the way she dressed and the furnishings in her apartment.

What I didn't realize at the time is that I suck at Fi even more, and that's what I really need help with.

Not really, I don’t think. It makes me feel like I’m missing out on something. Or like there is something wrong with me. So maybe I’m kind of ‘jealous’ is the word.

I can appreciate Se intellectually fairly easily. I know that you need to defend anything that is good from external attacks or else it won't last very long. But knowing this intellectually does not in itself make it easier to actually engage with it on a practical level - it only opens the door. You can only do that by working on yourself spiritually, and learning to ignore your instinctive reactions when they don't make sense.

(and btw, I think there is a good chance Will Smith is ESE too)
