    Default Calling ESI

This is me with my husband with the lack of Se push. How would you make him do something. What would your dialog include?

Me: Honey, it's almost 10:00pm. You should go to bed early and get some rest.
Hubs: Yeah, I'm not ready yet.
Me: okay! (I don't feel the need to do anything else. He doesn't want to go to bed oh well).

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

EXIs seem to spend excessive amounts of time trying to get others to follow their directions, and seem to take it as personal failures when those others don't. If they could only avoid this seeming obsession, their personal stress levels would likely diminish significantly.........

If it makes you feel any better I don’t get much further.

Me: go to sleep, it’s late
    Him: I am still working
    Me: work on it tomorrow
Him: I have to send the report tonight
    Me: send it now
Him: there is an error I need some time to figure it out
Me: don’t wake me when you are done. Sleep on the sofa.

that sounds like reasonable and practical solution... there is no need to disturb anyone

    ... wait a minute...

I see, I see but whatever since no one controls me in relations and cycle continues and no one gets it. That would be quite impossible situation to actualize.

This convo literally just happened and I handled it in a very un-Se way but it depends on the other person...

Me: I don't mean to be a henpecker, but isn't it pretty late to be up if you have to work tomorrow?

Boyfriend: Yeah, it is. *goes to sleep*

It still says S to me because it takes on a more accusatory tone that also focuses on the NOW. Immediate actions. When I say should I’m thinking if he doesn’t rest he’s not going to be well rested...future... possibilities.

My aunt will say “Isn’t it late?” “There’s no proper time and ritual?”

I can kind of relate to what @ashlesha said.

If my husband needs to get up early the next day, I often don’t say anything. He’s a night owl and a big boy who can take care of himself. He’s used to being up very late. It’s kind of the norm around here. But I’d say something like “It’s getting really late, don’t you have to be at so and sos early? Aren’t you going to be tired?”.

Now if it was my mom, I’d say something like, “Mom, shouldn’t you be in bed? You are going to be tired tomorrow!”

If it was my kids, I’d be saying, “If you haven’t taken a shower and aren’t in bed by 9pm, you are grounded! You have 15 minutes!”. I give them countdowns. I recently enacted this rule and am pretty proud of myself for not relenting when the hysterical, ‘please unground me’, starts up, because I’ll usually feel bad (and get annoyed by all the screaming) and make a bargain with them so they can get out of it. I’ve learned how bad relenting has affected their attitude towards me (basically they don’t respect me or take me seriously at all) so I’m trying to stop the relenting and bargaining.

I feel like every person I use a different approach. I feel the reason for that is I feel like I can be bossy toward certain people while other people not so much. There are varying degrees. My husband doesn’t like people ordering him around and can get defensive if people do. I wouldn’t like it if he would let me order him around. I’d see it as a major turn off. I could never be in a relationship with a pushover.

interestingly enough, that sounds like a female EIE + male LIE couple where the EIE can't make the LIE understand how he has been neglecting her recently

this sounds like all of high school for me as a LIE, just "don't wake us up across the hall when you go to bed!"
