Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse
<3
Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse (any fans of MM? He's an amazing, NATURAL lyricist, unpretentious)

Editing this post years later, 8 years later to be exact because I just recently saw him at Osheaga (Music festival) and basically had my dream come true of hearing them live. It was amazing. Of course, I want him typed.. my natural thought is an Ni-IEI since I seem to gravitate towards music made by Beta bands and usually IEIs. His lyrics are wonderfully profound and poetic, yet unpretentious and natural, much how I see a lot of Ni-Fe writing.
Similarities in themes - circular nature of universe, life, meaninglessness of day to day activities.. philosophical waxings.
What makes me wonder about the IEI typing is the video I've seen of him from an old documentary.. he just seems a lot more down to earth than IEIs would normally be, and his live shows are completely devoid of pandering to the crowd, or what I see to be typical Beta hijinks, stage presence, etc. He simply plays, and leaves.. not much talk, not much smiling or any expression really. Avoidance of Fe.
An excerpt from Bankrupt on Selling
"so all of the businesses in their unlimited
hell where they buy and they sell and they sell all their
trash to each other but they're sick of it all
and they're bankrupt on selling
and all of the angels
they'd sell off your soul for a set of new wings and anything gold
they remember
the people they loved their old friends
and I've seen through'em all seen through'em all and seen through most everything
all the people you knew were the actors
all the people you knew were the actors"

Huh? lol.. um, I just said in my post I saw Modest Mouse this past weekend and it blew my mind. <3 They're my all time fav band and mean a lot to me. It rekindled my desire to know Isaac's type.

I freaking love his lyrics too. I could see IEI going off of them, but I've never watched an interview with him or anything.
Lil' snippets of lyrics from 'Lonesome Crowded West' - my fave album of theirs
(Hahaha. They sounds so teenager-y, but whatevs, I totally love them.)
On the way to god don't know
my brain's the burger and my heart's the coal
in this place that i call home
my brain's the cliff, and my heart's the bitter buffalo
my heart's the bitter buffalo
we tore one down, and erected another there
the match of the century: absence versus thin air
...
The universe works on a math equation
that never even ever really even ends in the end
Infinity spirals out creation
We're on the tip of its tongue, and it is saying
We ain't sure where you stand
You ain't machines and you ain't land
And the plants and the animals, they are linked
And the plants and the animals eat each other
Oh my God and oh my cat
...
Oh! If you could compact your conscience
Oh! And you might.
Oh! If you could bottle and sell it you might have done
Oh! And you might
Oh! If you could compact your conscience
and sell it save it for another time
you might have to use it.
...
I had a drink the other day
Opinions were like kittens
I was giving them away and
I had a drink the other day
I had a lot to say
...
You are so hot
I would like to steal your digits
And I'm so hung up on it
I would like to
Move away from it
...
Everytime you think you're walking you're just moving the ground
Everytime you think you're talking you're just moving your mouth
...
Eating snow flakes with plastic forks
And a paper plate of course, you think of everything
Short love with a long divorce
And a couple of kids of course
They don't mean anything
Live in trailers with no class
goddamn I hope I can pass high school means nothing
Taking heartache with hard work
Goddamn I am such a jerk, I can't do anything
And I shout that you're all fakes
And you should have seen the look on your face
And I guess that's what it takes
When comparing your bellyaches
And it's been a long time
Which agrees with this watch of mine
And I guess that I miss you, and I'm sorry
if I dissed you
...
One year
Twenty years
Forty years
Fifty years
Down the road in your life
You'll look in the mirror
And say, "My parents are still alive."

You know, I really never entertained the notion of SLE.. and it actually may work.. but maybe LSI-Se... ? I just see introversion in his behaviours.. It would be very interesting if he were Beta ST given that most of his fans are Beta NF, at least that I know of. It would be like being drawn to your dual's music without knowing.. which I find amazing and intriguing.
His lyrics are also more realistic and "grounded" than IEI ones I have read... hmm. Him again as a person is just more.. PRESENT... Here's another video. First is him younger, probably drunk but still..
