Do these "get with the program!" complaints annoy anybody else?

Back in 2009 when Avatar came out, there was a flurry of posts telling me how 3D was going to be as big of a change to movies as color. I was saying that I don't really like 3D, and people were giving me complaints telling me "get with the program! You're like those old grandpas who complain about how theaters introduces sound and color!"

First of all, my veridical sense is that 3D is not like adding sound or color, but these people are telling me that my veridical sense is wrong and that there's something wrong with me. They are accusing me of being a conventionalist who forms their judgment on good and ugly based on conventions! Seeing that ten years has past since Avatar and 3D didn't revolutionize theater like sound and color did, I can say that my veridical sense was correct and I was not​ being a conventionalist.

Does anybody hate getting told that their veridical sense/intuition is wrong?

I didn’t like 3D either. But I can see how when a shiny new thing comes out how the masses are drawn to it one way or another and how predictions for how things develop can arise from these “fads.” I mean look at fad diets

Yeah, 3D is pretty unimpressive, imo.

The majority of fads are just a way of making money off of something that isn't new, but that people have forgotten about. Repackaging, in other words.

This is why I like how Anton Lavey warns about "forgetfullness of past orthodoxies". Even though I don't follow all of Lavey's philosophies, I like this aspect of it; being vigilant towards the cash making machine that is "novelty" is a useful tool in the quest for individual sovereignty.

"Get with the program"

When I was at that group home place, this black staff member used to say that to me all the time when I was in one of my IEI daydream states, to snap me back to reality. Idk we never understood each other that well, but he did feel sorry for me when the other boys wouldn't sit with me on the bus because I'm a creepy ******. He and another black woman gave everybody a good talking to cuz of that. I know they were just trying to be nice, but I actually preferred to sit by myself. I mean, that's fine- people should only sit with me if they really want to anyway right lol. I'd rather be all alone then have to be fake nice 2 ppl.

He also taught me how to fish and do more mechanical str8 man things, that I never really stuck with lol. Most likely a well meaning delta ST?
