I have him down as EII-Fi
I think he is sensing, given his command of the subject matter. I also think he knows how to portray Fi, given the massive emotional payoff at the end of Arrival.
I think what people don't understand about Canadians is that INFj is the sociotype of the country currently.
I also find the under-currents of anxiety and near violence in his films leads away from Delta NFs. The only delta I can see him being is ESTj, with ISTp as a close second.
Scope and scale and impact - these are sensing territories.

IEI. I think his Paul Atreides is an IEI as well. In fact, I think Dune has deep Beta vibes all around ,and all of his films share the same mystical, dream-like quality.
