    Default [Psyche-Yoga] Sexta 1

    Sexta 1

    Types: EVLF, FLVE, FVLE, ELVF

    [1&4] Result aspects: E and F

    [2&3] Process aspects:
    L and V

Generally, this sexta is characterised by open emotional displays and a deeper connection with the darker aspects of life. This is not to say that everyone in this sexta is evil, but most will have a natural gravitation towards exploring or understanding what other people shun away from. A good way of putting it, is that they seem more comfortable with exploring the negative side of humanity through confrontational expressions, trying to make other people come to terms with it.

So, their focus on the negative leads to a catharsis through which they develop and understand themselves and the world better, which makes self-development a very important value in this sexta. They will often have powerful emotions and expressions, including a strong interest in intellectual, scientific discussions and overall self improvement. However, this is only coupled with a tendency to rile people up and create tense atmospheres.

Generally they feel a strong attachment to basic human needs, and wish for a life of comfort where these needs are taken care of. Quite focused on the immediate terms of survival as well. They may have a tendency to embrace or disregard the physical aspects of life, turning rather greedy or detaching completely from the physical surroundings.

    EVLF (Ghazali)

[1E] First Emotion: Characteristically romantic, EVLFs maintain an emotional perception of the world. This makes them more prone to strong feelings, causing them to charm and delight themselves and others. Moreover, EVLFs are excellent at brightening the emotions of others by gathering around people, uniting them emotionally. EVLFs have a very peculiar sense of beauty, which is sometimes difficult to explain to others, because the beauty that they perceive is often disembodied and abstract. They desire “masterpieces” in beauty and art, which they treasure with a special love for artistic text that are based on miracles, and not on the absolute power of the material world. Most people of this type tend to restrain their negative emotions, because they understand the risk of feedback from others, which only magnifies the negative emotions even more.

    [2E] Second Willpower:
EVLFs perceive people primarily as potential partners in business, whose creativity and opinions deserve respect and should be listened to. EVLFs initiate activity when they want to be active, and never push themselves. EVLFs normally believe that punishment should be used as an incentive, to be used as little as possible, and ideally to even not be used at all or only in exceptional cases. EVLFs also do not understand the skepticism of others, in which they might accidentally advance a project that leads to negative results and loss. At the same time, it follows the principle of “Better alone than with anyone” and will not adapt to the patterns of behavior that are considered unacceptable for itself. EVLFs are very active socially and in their work, yet they are normally characterized by low activity in the material world.

    [3E] Third Logic:
EVLFs have a contradictory attitude, from main source of difficulties of the world to rules of a logic game. EVLFs love paradoxes, sophistries, along with a variety of logic puzzles and crosswords. In discussions, EVLFs often play the role of the “devil’s advocate”, who likes to look out for weaknesses in logical constructs. They often say that logic is clearly insufficient for fully understanding the world. Most of all, it primarily refers to the logic of building relationships with people. Thus, it is their desire to over-formalize interpersonal relations on the basis of, for example; status-hierarchical norms. EVLF treats this very positively, sometimes very proud when they exceed a certain person of a higher formal status, because it is another way to demonstrate the limitations of status logic. However, when building their own hierarchical relationships, they are often not built on formal conclusions. Entirely different considerations such as considerations of beauty and the requirement of detailed evidence often brings EVLF trouble.

    [4F] Fourth Physics:
It is atypical for EVLFs to focus on the material world, when they attempt to indulge into the material world, they spend as much as is necessary to create a positive emotional impression on others. Sometimes when it seems to them that others are paying too much attention to the material world, it can be a pleasure for them to simply watch the picture of unusual events in the material world, not worrying much about when they bring discomfort to others.

    FLVE (Aristippus)

[1F] First Physics: Aristippus is an exclusively materialistic type that perceives the world through a lens of hedonism. Everything in the world has a price, not abstractly, but in terms of money. Aristippus is able to profitably sell almost any product, including the one that no one seems to buy. FLVE almost never gives out rewards, they have a remarkable ability to take possession of property and not let it go. Perhaps it was FLVE that invented the saying “It does not matter what it is about, because ultimately it is always a question of money.” Sometimes, FLVE can be very messy, but it is understandable if it is comfortable for them, they do not care what they look like. The criterion of truth for them is the use of material objects, the right to their opinion is what is useful to them. “I am an owner and a gentleman” - a favorite phrase of many FLVE.

    [2L] Second Logic:
FLVE loves to explain the different ways to experience life, willingly sharing with others their recipes to get the most out of life. In the course of these conversations, they are prone to long monologues in which FLVEs always tend to emphasize what they know about “the truth of life”. This always leads to deep materialistic landings; in terms of the FLVE. “Everything in the world is determined by either the money or power and by physiological nature of man, beautiful ideals do not have much to do with reality.”

[3V] Third Willpower: Willpower is very peculiarly manifested in FLVEs, from their perspective, even if they rarely articulate it; the entire world is an arena of struggle in which only the strongest wins. FLVE evaluates their realistic force as soon as possible (due to 1F), even though they do not consider themselves the strongest, they of possess a very clear manner of behavior. A skillful maneuver between the superior forces, allowing the FLVE to avoid becoming a victim of any of the forces. Perhaps the FLVE invented the saying: “Do not get caught, for you will be a thief.”

    [4E] Fourth Emotion:
The emotional life of Aristippus is the least significant. FLVE perceives emotions as a caprice and unworthy of seriousness. So, FLVE absolutely does not hesitate to be rude when necessary and sometimes their behavior will even seems cruel. Equally, they will take on the mood of others. If no emotional activity is occurring; they will be relaxed and do not develop emotionally.

    FVLE (Goethe)

[1F] First Physics: FVLE is a very grounded type, inclined to appreciate material pleasures in various forms such as; good food, nice clothes, dancing and other joys of life. At the same time, they find opportunities for material pleasures in a variety of physical conditions. FVLE has an extraordinary ability to objectively assess the quality of the material goods all around. Most representatives of this type are tightly stacked or involved with this process.

    [2V] Second Willpower:
Goethe has a very strong sense of dignity, calm and self-confidence in their ability to solve life’s problems. A typical phrase of Goethe: “Problems should be solved as they arise.” At the same time, Goethe considers it very difficult to insist on confidently defending their position before someone with clearly greater strength carries on towards a very high social status.

    [3L] Third Logic:
FVLE’s attitude is very ambiguous and often skeptical towards unusual ideas that cannot be dictated by the everyday common sense. They have a decreased interest to the very unusual view of the world, in the case of the pursuit of science and the pronounced interest in the non-standard theories. Sometimes, FVLE can greatly suffer because of logical errors and they are extremely careful as a result. Nevertheless, in matters of logic they are not conservative, being able to actively respond to new ideas.

    [4E] Fourth Emotion:
Representatives of this type are not very emotional, as they have the ability to exclude the surrounding emotions to gently soothe anxious emotions, but it is easy for them to respond to joy and FVLE can easily enjoy themselves with friends.

    ELVF (Andersen)

[1E] First Emotion: Andersen is a very emotional, mystic type. Many people of this type are distinguished by a very emotional and sometimes a heart-breaking response to the world; as they are very vulnerable. ELVF’s emotions are very strong, but often they are quite tragic in aspect, their subject matter is very common - a regret that the world is getting worse. Probably one of the examples of such a reaction to the world; the letters J. R. R. Tolkien, which is a very frequent motif of nostalgia in pre-industrial times, when there were railroads and factories. Besides, this type is prone to sudden changes in emotions and optimism, now counterbalanced with a deep inner uncertainty. Perhaps it is because they did not know about moderation in anything: love, intellectual excitement, disgust, anger, self-doubt, guilt, joy. Any passion can be absorbed by them entirely, and at that moment, none other emotion could serve as a substitute.

    [2L] Second Logic:
For ELVF, they have a characteristic philosophical mind. People of this type are very much in the underground (amateur artistic and intellectual communities - such as science fiction clubs) and it is in antegrade than anywhere else. Andersen offers their perspective for the development of their concepts, which are normally very unusual, but their ideas can not always be taken seriously by society. ELVF nonetheless builds these theories (and absorbs new theories) with great pleasure and it is one of the major pleasures of life for them.

    [3V] Third Willpower:
Willpower is a sore point for ELVF, caused by the tragedy of their world. Decision-making and forcing oneself to be active is difficult for them. For example; there are cases where students who had the type of ELVF, even when they knew the material, they still did not dare to go to take the exam due to the fact that they were not confident in their ability to meet the standard for the exam. This causes their pessimism, implemented in the conclusion that the world is getting worse for them.

    [4F] Fourth Physics:
ELVF invests in the material world at a minimum, usually because of their preoccupation with philosophical reflections. Sometimes, it is due to the fact that the material world is not just perceived as a burden for them, but as something that has to change as well. By virtue of their global values of what is impossible, as well as what can be sacrificed without regret. (This type is the most prone to develop doomsday predictions).

I think they mean lack of moderation. Or something like cycling between the two extremes.

I really doubt that Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is a good representative for FVLE. 3L might be alright, but 4E seems completely off, considering that he wrote some of the most important novels of a very emotion-heavy period in literature and greatly influenced the later romantic era.

i thought it was simply because half have F in the 1st position and half have it in the 4th position. the ones with it in the 1st position obviously embrace it; while those with it in the 4th position don't really care, and disregard it... but i guess they will go along with the ones with it in the 1st position.

every sexta has this issue - the 1st "function" for 2 of the types is the 4th for the other 2.

but yes, it's all or nothing, in the sexta for functions 1/4 i guess.

ditzes and psychopaths, check. still, a bit of a motley bunch with at best a flimsy, testy interrelation. though i suppose the same may be said of the beta quadra which this seems to be a semblant parrallel of.

    Says the penguin.

Take, for example, Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor). The man known as the Penguin appears on the surface to be simply a clumsy, stuttering ne’er-do-well, but underneath he is a calculating criminal and ruthless killer completely lacking in remorse or empathy. He’s also narcissistic (he often asserts Gotham “needs” him), masterfully manipulative, and immeasurably power-hungry. He’s not only a psychopath, he also might fit the standard definition of a serial killer since he stabs frat boys in the neck and feeds people poisoned cannoli with a fair amount of glee.

But what made him a psychopath? It’s hard to tell for sure. However, the roots of the Penguin’s pathological hunger for power may come from years of feeling powerless as a child. After repeatedly being bullied and beaten in his youth, Oswald’s actions may just reflect those of a person who has had enough. Some of his behaviors also may be traced to his mother. Overbearing and jealous—in a creepy, converse-Oedipal sort of way—she seems to have fostered in her son a dysfunctional psyche and poor social skills.

    Edit: changing avatar, very clever.

Yes. I also think that his rejection of scientific approaches such as Newtonian optics (in favor of a kind of phenomenology) matches poorly with the description of this type.

Also the esotericism he seemed to support, and his centralizing of "das Ewig-Weibliche" (the eternal feminine), make me wonder "Why Goethe here?"

How do those characteristics fit "a very grounded type, inclined to appreciate material pleasures in various forms" who "objectively assess[es] the quality of the material goods all around. Most representatives of this type are tightly stacked or involved with this process"? I also don't think he was "ambiguous and often skeptical towards unusual ideas that cannot be dictated by the everyday common sense. They have a decreased interest to the very unusual view of the world, in the case of the pursuit of science and the pronounced interest in the non-standard theories." He instead uplifted the nonmaterial and fought against what was becoming a standard theory afaik.

I just checked and I found a source which lists him as ENFj in socionics, which seem like a reasonable typing.

I think on balance, ELVF (Andersen) fits me best, then probably LEVF (Pascal). It obviously seems somewhat IPish and IEIish...the Pascal description probably seems like some LII (although ILIs and others could probably identify with it).

Goethe is even more known as a scientist than as a poet depending on which circles you're in. These were Albert Einstein's 5 favourite books | World Economic Forum (weforum.org) Additionally, his "influence" on the Romantic era was mostly ragging on it and trying to get people to cut it out. Maybe an artist shouldn't be low E, but if any artist is low E, Goethe probably is. I question the low L more than the low E for Goethe, however. I don't think 3L is too obviously bad, though, because many people regarded Goethe primarily as a political leader which would mostly be F and V, only 4L would be obviously bad for Goethe, and 1L seems bad too but not as much as 4L. Goethe Etc.: Goethe and Romanticism (goethetc.blogspot.com)

Additionally, al-Ghazali probably would've been 1L not 1E. Sure, he's religious, but isn't being 1L basically being dogmatic in a way while not being too dogmatic like 3L would be because you're better at logic and not insecure? Al-Ghazali is a philosopher, not a poet like many of the famous Persians such as Rumi are.
