    Default ISFj and Moodiness?

    Can ISFj appear excessively moody at times, specifically when such emotional responses seem unprovoked?

    I noticed that an ISFj friend of mine becomes moody or annoyed when people are doing unacceptable things nearby, such as smoking or drinking. She will get silent or tempermental with me, when I affiliate with people that she assumes are these qualities. Almost seems as if she is hyper-sensitive to specific ethics, whether actual or hypothetical.

    Is this her Fi working?

    The disapproval part of it is sheer Fi. A Te-ego would generally pay attention to it, yet LIE and ILI are not very good at picking up on *just* disapproval (their Te is at its highest) which might come across as societal based. So gamma SF indicate their disapproval with some variety of moodiness, at least other ESIs that I have observed do (one i know is extremely moody even from my perspective). I dunno why but LIE and ILI pay attention much more to that since it has now become obvious that something is the matter.

    I am not so moody (in the back of my mind i think it's still possible i could be delta NF) but have very strong judgements which i keep quiet. Yet that is not enough for ILI for instance i remember an ILI i very much cared about got into an awful situation with someone whom i could tell from the get go that they were just an iffy person. I wish in retrospect I had been vocal about it since it would have saved ILI a lot of trouble from this nasty person (as it turned out). So yeah my conclusion is gamma NT don't pick up on very subtle things they look for something stronger to be an indication that maybe something is wrong.

    I have always shunned people i consider to be a bad influence. Of course the criteria for that is very complex, but it exists, even for strong ESIs what you see as disapproval-based moodiness runs on some very complex criteria on how they judge someone.

    I wouldn't say they are more moody than EIIs they just demonstrate their moodiness more openly and obviously
    Actually probably Te program types are also moody in a way, so maybe that is how the relations work in these dyads, they tune themselves to the other person's mood in order to understand where their relationship stands

    All Ijs and Eps are moody while all Ejs and Ips have snits; the only difference is the generating process. ISFjs do get moody when people are not behaving as expected and the source is usually their feelings of impotence to change things or to see a way to improve situations. Their reticence to confront issues head on causes them to go silent while they smoulder; if situations don't resolve themselves, they will eventually blow their tops. They usually do get all their frustrations out but often in one venomous dump - and frequently too late........

    Moodiness = Neuroticism

    Every type can be "moody" aka neurotic.

    My ESI friend is very moody and goes into instant rage because of some nuances. He's in on/off relationship with ILE and that may the reason. Most recently he throw new tv out of the window, week earlier destroyed guitar on the wall. He says patience is not his strong in him. He is very explosive but never attacks people physically.

    Anyway, getting angry because people are smoking and drinking is very immature. It might be Fi, but very childish one. That's every person personal choice and getting angry because of something like this just predisposes to mental issues in later life. Such moral standards should be revised and re-evaluated. For example, if such ISFj will marry a guy and this guy will start drinking over weekends or a beer a day, and this would be triggering anger, that would exhaust ISFj (up to mental clinic) while the husband will be ok from one beer a day (well, not really, but that's the choice he's making). And that's a real story.

    They may as anyone to have bad emotions.
    Specifics of base Fi is that they may hold bad emotions inside longer than other ones, as do not want to hurt your emotions. This may lead to that bad emotions accumulate, what annoys them stays underestimated and hence not solved. And then the anger is redundantly discharged on some minor thing. This looks as all ok and then without good reasons all becomes very bad and you do not understand why. When you try to get the explanation - you'll get nothing reasonable as they'll say the last minor things.

    It's other situation, if this is stable. For example, ESI may think that something annoyes or harms other ones and become angered in the wish to protect them. Mb she's N type with higher fears and hate against "toxic" materials. Or other reasons.
    Types examples: video bloggers, actors

    Fi-ESIs can often seem like they are in a constant state of low lying moodiness as just part of being their natural selves. Se-ESIs I would describe more as tense/sharp then moody.
