Sometimes an old fashioned waltz is exactly what you need.
Shostakovich, waltz no 2
The decisive thing is not the reality of the object, but the reality of the subjective factor, i.e. the primordial images, which in their totality represent a psychic mirror-world. It is a mirror, however, with the peculiar capacity of representing the present contents of consciousness not in their known and customary form but in a certain sense sub specie aeternitatis, somewhat as a million-year old consciousness might see them.
(Jung on Si)
“I want the following word: splendor, splendor is fruit in all its succulence, fruit without sadness. I want vast distances. My savage intuition of myself.”
― Clarice Lispector
What music is that? I knew about his more serious classical repertoir, but I just discovered his Jazz suites, and I like it a lot. Sort of jazz-classical fusion, sounds like film music, it probably is.

The lyrics to this are one of the creepiest poems of all time by the poet Novalis (not the band, which is named after him.) He wrote Hymns to the Night about what he believed would happen after he died, and then died shortly after. All the English translations, however, are awful in that they either lose literal meaning or poetic structure to the point of really being rendered incomprehensible and I should make one sometime. Here's the prog rock version anyways.
“My typology is . . . not in any sense to stick labels on people at first sight. It is not a physiognomy and not an anthropological system, but a critical psychology dealing with the organization and delimitation of psychic processes that can be shown to be typical.” —C.G. Jung
I want to mention this album again. Jazz suites by Shostakovich. Please turn up the volume and enjoy
