Red face Your Favorite YouTube Channels

I love YouTube. Despite the "Adpocalypse" and the bullshit that YT is presently putting its creators through, there's no denying that YouTube is a veritable garden of awesome content of all flavors for everyone. Most of mine tend to be educational or rather niché. Here's some of my recommendations if you're looking for something new:

    Educational
    • Vsauce - The classic. Michael Stevens is a big name now. You probably know who he is. Enough said.
    • TED-Ed - Fairly self-explanatory.
    • The Great War - More than you ever wanted to learn about World War I.
    • BrainCraft - Funded by PBS Digital Studios, BrainCraft was created by Vanessa Hill and talks about various topics in psychology and neuroscience.
    • Today I Found Out - Literally everything you can think of has probably been talked about here. The stuff you took for granted, those weird asterisks in the history textbooks that nobody really understands the origins of, the urban legends that you've found yourself repeating only to realize you don't know whether that's accurate or not. This channel probably has a video about it.
    • Biographics - From the makers of TIFO, comes the internet's version of the A&E Biography channel.
    • AsapSCIENCE - Short, animated videos that explain real phenomena or occasionally venture into the quirky and the what-ifs.
    • History Buffs - How historically accurate is HBO's Rome? Dunkirk? Dances With Wolves? Watch and find out!
    • Company Man - Notable products and brands, fallen commercial empires, and a video on why Harvard is the richest university in the world. This is a VH1 Behind The Music of corporations and the products you buy.
    • City Beautiful - More than you ever wanted to know about city planning.
    • Shadiversity - All things relating to medieval combat and parallel fantasy interests from an Australian neckbeard who sounds like he knows what he's on about it.
    • Mental Floss - Mostly publishes list format videos, but has some interesting stuff from time to time.
    • Lawful Masses with Leonard French - A copyright attorney who talks about various legal topics and current lawsuits. Hosts a live show every Sunday (now on Twitch, due to differences with YouTube). He will occasionally talk about legal things that are not related to copyright and patents.
    • The Royal Institution - Lectures, shorts, and other videos from a 200 year old London-based charity to learn you some science, expand your horizons, and understanding of the world around us.
    • NativLang - My latest subscription, this channel talks about all things linguistic. Ancient languages, the evolution of languge, how language corresponds with an understanding of time. Stuff you never even thought language could do. Super cool stuff.

    • Troy Hunt - Vlog channel of infosec expert and the creator and curator of haveibeenpwned.com, a free database search to find out if your online accounts have been compromised in known data-breaches. Gives commentary and background on breaches as they become public knowledge or after being cold-shouldered by companies who refuse to disclose, and reports on shitty website and app design from a security standpoint. also touches on the technical aspects of digital security and best practices for companies, websites, developers and users.
    • Numberphile - Math geeks geeking out over maths.
    • Joe Rogan Experience - Joe Rogans podcasts
    • Your Moms House Podcast - Married comedians Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky weekly hour and a half to two hour podcasts reacting to fucked up videos, topics, and their everyday lives.
    • H3 Podcast and Ethan and Hila - podcast and vlog channels of h3h3Productions, married youtubers.
    • More Worms - small channel by an anonymous person editing cringy videos/alien conspiracy podcasts down into gold.
    • Rubin Report - former Young Turks token gay turned classical liberal/libertarian interviewer
    • Jordan Peterson - Jordan Petersons channel
