Default LSI/ISTj reckless daring in youth, responsible career-oriented when older

I know one who was pretty wild until age of 16 or so but then started transforming into the stereotypical corporate drone he is now. Actually I think it was a good idea but still I guess this sort of agrees with your post. Even though this guy started the transformation quite young.

yeah, that is weird. the ISTj girls i've known are conservative, and always have been. same with my ISTj dad. i <3 them though. so different, yet we get along without a hitch and have awesome discussions - never boring. yay for activity partners.

My ISTj father was just like that. As a teen he skipped classes, travelled a lot, blah blah, then he decided to enter the military. He is less rigid/stiff than the typical ISTj representation luckily though.

I'm INTJ-ISTj, depending on the school of thought here I guess.

Road to Damascus experience maybe? Sounds like the changes were positive. Congratulate him for making good life choices. Do you think that in disassociating himself he may be creating less potential for future professional conflicts?

The ISTj I know used to throw bottle rockets back and forth to my ESTp down the school hallways. They did all kinds of very, very wild things together, most of which landed them in juvie. He had this one car that he put through hell, ponds, explosions, wreck after wreck.
Daniel was afraid to introduce him to me at first because he didn't know if this guy would interpret my quiet shyness as some weird form of aggression and attack me.
But he had already begun his transformation at this point.
He's not a corporate drone, but he works like 60 hours a week and is a very responsible husband and father of three plus one on the way. I think having a family is what changed him, not that he's not still up for a little dangerous rebellion now and again.

Eh, if that kind of thing is going to happen, ISTj sensories are pretty much the perfect candidate
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I agree. Nowadays when I go out with my ISTj good friend, all she talks about is career development, resume, having a 10 year plan for the future, college.....
