I am being cancelled. For being so sexy and fun and intelligent and hot.
The Barnum or Forer effect is the tendency for people to judge that general, universally valid statements about personality are actually specific descriptions of their own personalities. A "universally valid" statement is one that is true of everyone—or, more likely, nearly everyone. It is not known why people tend to make such misjudgments, but the effect has been experimentally reproduced.
The psychologist Paul Meehl named this fallacy "the P.T. Barnum effect" because Barnum built his circus and dime museum on the principle of having something for everyone. It is also called "the Forer effect" after its discoverer, the psychologist Bertram R. Forer, who modestly dubbed it "the fallacy of personal validation".
How about chaining a new habit after one you already do?
I've had a bit more success with this then the aforementioned, but for little things only so far. Such as making time to moisturize all 20 of my dryass cuticles straight out of the shower. Otherwise I never do it.
I never change habits deliberately tbh, I just give up ending habits because it doesn't work. But they fade away when I'm mentally sound and when I remove the emotional baggage chaining me to these habits
my goals...
really short term - start exercising regularly & eating better
short term (a year) - switch into web development
medium term (5 years or so) - try & get database, network, and system admin certifications, and follow it up with job experience
long term - work as a cloud engineer for some large company
So I try & wake up early & read for 2-3 hours every day to make these things happen. If I can go the gym too ... I'm doing really well.
No room in there for a relationship, but that is a sacrifice I have chosen to make.
I dont share my goals with people, even irl.
I guard them and nourish them and go after them.
