Default 2d functions are a double edged sword

because of their reliance on historical/cultural context which changes over time, which is nothing more than to say norms themselves change over time. I'm thinking of my neurotic SEE love who has a lot of fear, in part because of I believe 2d Ne (or what looks like fear to me, I am beneath it so I might just be stupidly brave [1d Ne]) in this day and age is somewhat risk averse (kids can't play unsupervised, they might get kidnapped--even though those crimes have been steadily dropping for years--before people bought into the myth of cults abducting kids, etc). I feel like this is why true love is in such short supply, because no one wants to risk the conditions that would make it possible (other facts: sex is down, depression is up, divorce is down but still high, etc etc)... the upshot to this is faith in technology is very high (optimism, in other words), but it takes the form of solving the love problem with sex robots. is that real hope?

on the other hand, alpha quadra has been pulling their weight, because normative Ti, especially for the college educated is incredibly healthy and well articulated in relation to what is has been in the past. While we've always had types that could push the boundaries and were brilliant, we (the common man) never stood so tall on the shoulders of giants

people playing it safe in love is bullshit and a symptom of the times--excessive fear and risk aversion--the "check the boxes and derive love mechanistically" (lacking real [3d+ or 1d] imagination--i.e. positively determine "love" via some kind of Ti formula; you know: good job, x income, drives y car, wants z kids, blonde hair, etc) is a mentality rooted in normative Ne, as far as I can tell... of course this does not apply to all segments of society, delta cultures (the individuals within them, regardless of quadra) for example are probably more about making crazy leaps in the name of love, but gamma is pretty bad at it, and I'm obviously pretty butt hurt over it right now
