Question What's Your Phone Background? (Instinct Theory)

    My hypothesis is that:

    • SO firsts usually have a group picture set as their phone background
    • SX firsts one person or a couple and
    • SP firsts likely a wallpaper without people.

Quotes don't count. Does that apply to someone here? Do mixed versions occur? As in, Sx/So has one person or sometimes a group? What is your background like?

You can post it if you want to. Maybe this can help giving very fast clues about a person's stacking with an unusual/trivial method!

Observations that led to the theory (you can skip this unless you want some detailed examples):

I monitored my own pictures and it's usually one person indeed, often just the face. Sometimes it's a statue as well. I had some wallpaper with birds but there was a quote on it (about how one needs music to survive, kinda SX). Some SP stuff I had was lotus blossoms and a sky picture. What I noticed was that I never had any group scenery, more than 2 people = nil report

Mom's background is almost always nature-related including her paintings, here and there a person, she's SP/SX.

My SO/SX friend has group pics plastered all over his backgrounds and default pictures on every device. I checked his facebook for fun, his profile picture shows a gigantic disco mob (SO) and him with 4 close friends (SX) on the header I compared that to mine, which has a painting of a supposedly "mysterious" woman (SX) as the profile picture and pouring rain (SP) as the header, I just realized I market myself as E4 SX/SP

The wallpaper of my phone is an app that shows my age
    like this:

    Age
    89,63562378213

it reminds me to not waste my live time and live everyday
Kinda weird now that I think about it.

    You typed me SP first
And yes. Usually I don't have people as my wallpaper, but nature images that are much like the ones from your blog entries

My wallpapers are either some scenery (sci-fi or nature mostly), of a fictional couple, of a celeb/fictional character crush, or of a movie/musical/whatever I'm a fan of.

Current phone background (from Mass Effect):

P.S: Most taken people in their 20s seem to have a couple selfie of themselves with their boyfriend or girlfriend as their wallpaper, in my experience.

I'm sx/so, and I prefer the default settings on my phone.

For a while, I had this picture I took of some mountains in Antalya, Turkey, on my computer. I liked it because it makes me smile when I see it, and it is a good background for program icons. It is plain and not distracting.
But my phones, I leave on default. Who has time to mess with every device they have?

    Attachment 9503

I would alternate that one with one of these:

    IMG_9840.jpg

    IMG_0339 - small.jpg

The only one that has people in it is the last, and you really have to look for them.

No! Editing is unfair. I wanted to call you boring and now you have beautiful pictures of mountains, a boat, and um, a really old football stadium

Why do all LIE like boats so much?

Sorry, it took a while to load those pics.

And I don't like boats. "A boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into." I just liked the composition of the pic. I got lucky there.

I've had the same default background that came with my $20 phone for five years. It's a hilly grassland with a blue sky, similar to the Windows XP background. I'm sp/sx.

    This is probably pretty accurate.
Mine is a pic of hubby and me on a mountain, behind us a valley... and more mountains.
Hubby's is a pic of us inside some caverns with giant crystals hanging everywhere. I type him SP first.

My last phone mine was a photo of my cat.

I don't have a smartphone, so I'll just post my desktop wallpaper.

It's been this way for the last four years or more, I think. Probably five. Its message is obsolete -- has been, for two years. It says "yaz" (with a suspiciously alpha-like a) -- a pun on "summer" and "write" in Turkish (deriving from simple homonymy). It was made perfunctorily with Windows 7's Paint software. It was supposed to work as a reminder (for the whole summer), that I should be writing, since I couldn't realistically do that in school time -- I won't go into detail. The red strip in the upper right corner was a later modification, to remind me of something else, which I have absolutely no remaining memory of, now.

The wallpaper on my laptop has always been (apart from a few isolated instances, or practical jokes by schoolmates) plain black.

Always put my GF at the time on there ever since I had a phone with a background. I am Sx first so that makes sense.

The Barnum or Forer effect is the tendency for people to judge that general, universally valid statements about personality are actually specific descriptions of their own personalities. A "universally valid" statement is one that is true of everyone—or, more likely, nearly everyone. It is not known why people tend to make such misjudgments, but the effect has been experimentally reproduced.

The psychologist Paul Meehl named this fallacy "the P.T. Barnum effect" because Barnum built his circus and dime museum on the principle of having something for everyone. It is also called "the Forer effect" after its discoverer, the psychologist Bertram R. Forer, who modestly dubbed it "the fallacy of personal validation".

The closest I've ever come to that is my current background, which is a painting of me and my cat who died earlier this year done by my cousin as a surprise gift to cheer me up. Prior to that it's always been something artsy and devoid of people unless they're very distant/just part of the background

A picture of two of my cats from the same litter (the girl is a tuxedo and the boy is an orange mackerel tabby). One went missing in 2019. I adopted a cat that looks a lot like him thinking it might be him (he was going to be euthanized for aggression). I'm not sold on it being him because of some differences in the facial markings and the tip of his tail being a little lighter though he is the same in mannerisms, size, color, and fur length (he doesn't pee on my clothes like my missing cat did) but he did take a liking to me immediately for a cat who is supposed to be aggressive. He hisses at strangers but was affectionate with me right away. My wife thinks it's my lost cat and her nieces think it's him. I love him all the same, either way. He almost always sleeps next to me.

Photo of one person or drawing of one chatacter.

Random stuff from the internet, not stuff I made or people I know.

I rarely find something I like so I can keep the default one for a long time.

I put a picture of something I want to send to my subconscious over time. And I put it in all "backgrounds" (tablet, phone, computers, etc)

I have erased the letters below every folder, ubications, etc with an app to hide my country of origin, although I think some users might have guessed it already.

Let's see if this has any typological trait or indicator

    I'm sp/sx.

    Lock screen: Bunterpuppy.jpg
I've had this in place for years. It's a painting I did of my dog as a puppy.

    Home screen: IMG_8880.jpg
A picture I took while on a walk recently. I think I might change it again, though. I change this one much more frequently, though not exactly regularly.

I rarely if ever have people featured in my screen backgrounds, so I guess I fit the profile. Although, flipping through photos on my phone just now, there are a couple of ones I took while in the UK/Europe that include my husband and fit my other criteria (aesthetic, not so busy or contrasty that it makes screen contents hard to see, soothing subject, etc.).
Oh, to find you in dreams - mixing prior, analog, and never-beens... facts slip and turn and change with little lucidity. except the strong, permeating reality of emotion.

I'm sx first and I've always been using the default iphone wallpaper, but I might change it to a photo of my cats once I adopt them!

My phone backgrounds are always some sort of fantasy scene or space shot.
