Default What would each type do if...

Imagine you are 11 years old and come home from school early.
You find out that your parents dismantled all the furniture in your bedroom, and threw away many your belongings, to experiment with their new ideas for your room.

You are angry and demand that they put everything back together.
They don't, and leave you alone knowing that you are to small and not strong enough to undo anything by sheer force, because it took two adults to get this far.
All you have is a screwdriver.

    What would each type do?

    Other if-stories are also welcome

    LIE:
I would hate them forever for disrespecting me.
Then, because my survival depends on it, I would suppress my feelings of hatred and would act normally. The screwdriver is a tool for killing people, but dead parents would make my life even worse, so I put the screwdriver away where it belongs and see what I can salvage from the room.
Then, I would escape their influence as soon as I could, expect nothing from them, and would maintain minimal contact and wait for them to die.
I might find a therapist to talk to about this stuff. Lol.

    P.S.
I actually came home from school one day and found that my mother had given my dog away to some people who drove by and admired him. She didn't like it when he peed on the kitchen floor when she wouldn't let him outside. She often told that story at family get-togethers, and thought it was funny.
She also broke my sister's cheekbone by hitting her in the face with some object and wouldn't take her to the hospital because "She wasn't hurt that bad".
So, hey, no anger here. No tendency on my part to defend the weak against the brutal. I'm not an e8.

Wow, I though my family does crazy things. That's not funny at all. What was she thinking
I hope your sister is alright. I would be forever traumatized.

Yes, I think it is safe to say that they were traumatized forever. This kind of thing happened a lot during our childhoods. My LSE mother should have been an engineer, and should have married someone who would humanize her a bit.

So, continuing on with the thread's theme, let me answer for my two sisters.

    LII:
Retreat into her head, do a lot of drugs and alcohol, try to drink herself to death, then leaves home and cuts all contact with parents forever.

    LSE (with broken cheekbone):
Goes to Pharmacy school to ensure a living, marries an IEI conflictor (when you're used to abuse, you just don't want it to stop), and calls parents weekly to try to establish a loving relationship (which doesn't happen).

This thread should be called "Stories of how the types react to childhood abuse".

I won't do anything, because I wouldn't really care. I would only be mad if the result didn't turn out well. And if didn't turn out well, I would just be mad and complain.
