Minds eye test is better for empathy. Never trust the results of self assessment if its regarding a quality universally seen as desirable
Projection is ordinary. Person A projects at person B, hoping tovalidate something about person A by the response of person B. However, person B, not wanting to be an obejct of someone elses ego and guarding against existential terror constructs a personality which protects his ego and maintain a certain sense of a robust and real self that is different and separate from person A. Sadly, this robust and real self, cut off by defenses of character from the rest of the world, is quite vulnerable and fragile given that it is imaginary and propped up through external feed back. Person B is dimly aware of this and defends against it all the more, even desperately projecting his anxieties back onto person A, with the hope of shoring up his ego with salubrious validation. All of this happens without A or B acknowledging it, of course. Because to face up to it consciously is shocking, in that this is all anybody is doing or can do and it seems absurd when you realize how pathetic it is.

I remember this quiz. Most of the deltas, who took it, got really high scores.

Your Empathy Quotient score was 59 out of a possible 80.

    I got 29/36.

I often thought the "interested" look looked similar to "skeptical", "cautious", "distrustful" etc. I think I have a distorted view on that.

I don't usually look people in the eyes, I feel like I need to improve on it.

Scores of 30 or less indicate a lack of empathy common in people with Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

I have recently been acting a bit more empathetic with certain people though, and their positive responses to my actions actually put me in a slightly better mood.
So, I am intending to work on my empathy a bit.

Maritsa said several of the questions were rather Fe, and I thought some were rather Fi, esp. EII - particularly the one that said "I can predict what someone will feel".

    55/80 I guess that's decent.

My thing is that I am generally very empathetic and I tend to feel people's emotions as my own, it's super easy to get me emotionally involved, but then I value my intergrity and my own morality more than other people. So if someone suffers because he/she does something that I disagree with, even though I can feel their pain, I'd never help them. Also, I don't enjoy helping others much.

I have also done once systemizing quotient test. I found questions bit weird. It was like when I was once asked to differentiate child drawings from abstract art. The right way to do it was through technique. My mind was entirely elsewhere. I rely more on mental models and manipulating it to something else than direct observation.
