Default The effects of the Assination of the Russian Ambasador to Turkey

In case ya haven't heard some Muslim thought it'd be a great idea to shout Allahu Ahkbar as he shoots the Russian Ambassador dead. Here's the video proof (warning: this video shows the dude getting shot, not for the squeemish):

Any thoughts on the after effects of this rather... extreme act? I'm thinking we might start calling Istanbul Constantinople again in the near future myself, Putin won't take this one lying down. Shit like this starts major wars.

FYI the Turks are no pussies.

It's ridiculously hard to say just because of Trump (I haven't figured him out yet).

Maybe the uncertainty of Trump would freak everyone out into a state of inertia and peace.

Symptoms of impending civil war and economic collapse in Turkey. Not much else.

I doubt any 20th century style wars and attempts of annexation will occur. At worst, it'll be like Crimea or Syria.

Wow, just wow! 2016 has just been an awful year overall. Just when I thought it was going to end off on a good note, this happens. Putin already has stated that he will deliver a strong response in Syria and I suspect Trump will say something similar:

9 also dead in Berlin and 50 injured from a truck attack in a Christmas market in a similar manner to the Nice attack:

I think 2017 will be worse.

I keep thinking about that lenin qoute "There are decades when nothing happens, and there are weeks when decades happen." Feels like we're on the precipice of some crazy shit, don't you think?

I think it's too soon to predict anything until Erdogan's and Putin's public statements over the next couple days... it could easily take a couple directions I think.

Not really surprising considering that Russia is turning ISIS and their ilk into Swiss cheese. The religious fanatics must be fuming over what Russia has done to them so far.

Shooting an unarmed man during an art exhibition is a cowardly sneaky act so how can you praise the Turkish shooter for "not being a pussy"?
Is the Turkish government even behind this? He was reported to be showing "tahwid" ISIS index finger signal on camera recordings, and the government of Turkey has been funding and supporting ISIS but was this really in their interests?

I'd say it's what ya get if you start to think mad dogs like ya just cuz ya feed em' some higher than average quality chow. The mad dog is great... so long as it sees you as the rightful Alpha of the pack that is. The instant it does not it WILL turn on you and bite out your throat with eager glee! Why? Well, it ain't called a "mad" dog just because you and others say it is that's why. It really is "mad" in every sense that means anything! ISIS is a mad dog with several leashes latched to its collar. Too bad each group thinks they can direct the rage and hate of the damned beast towards everyone who ain't them instead of perceiving it as the existential threat to all things good, just, and holy that it is and putting a bullet into it ASAP like they would if they weren't so power hungry and stupid .

In short, ISIS is the new vanguard of the Jihad we all thought we took out at the Battle of Lepanto. That we didn't even meet them at sea like we did at Lepanto... Yeah, this is gonna get very bloody in all the worst ways before we figure out if Europe will remain "Christian" again. I hope it does, but I'm not exactly optimistic given the examples of Germany and Sweden. Their ancestors are spinning in their graves at their collective displays of cowardice and cuckoldry!!!

    I wasn't praising the shooter.

Just making a comment about the Turks (the country) willingness to fight.

Also I wouldn't call the shooters act cowardly since he most likely knew that he would die. But don't get me wrong, I don't consider courage on its own to be a virtue.
