The Questionnaire v0.1
Describe yourself.
I'm a 20-year-old student from Germany. I describe myself as an avid maverick and a researcher of everything that I find novel and exciting, an achiever, a worker, a seeker, an enthusiast, a thinker. I am generally opportunistic and self-sufficient, mastering everything thrown at me as good as I can. My primary mode is falling in love with something or someone, I'm driven by passion.

,
What do you study or do for a living? How did you come to do that? What do you like or dislike about it?
My major is called "Communication and Cultural Management". I picked it because:
1) In general, I am interested in understanding as well as organizing anything related to art and culture. My entire character with its interests and talents is centered around these broad topics so I have all of them covered by creating a career in this field.
2) entering this specific major was a one-time chance. A larger company decided to launch a new scholarship and I volunteered. It was an experiment since I was the first one to receive it, both the company and university went/go through economic difficulties, but it worked out so far.
awareness of
and maybe
What I dislike about it are the way exams and papers are used for assessments. I was given the opportunity to create my own exam format and I greatly enjoyed both inventing and performing it. I also dislike the socializing aspect of university life, I prefer to do most things on my own. Sometimes, I feel like a slave to the system that they have, so much "must"s instead of "can"s. I don't identify with their collectivistic mottos and activities as well.
What I like is the variety of subjects. From narratology to image analysis, sound creation, system theory, game theory, curation, music theory, art history, English classes, psychology, management and economics, sociology, politics... I get to know a lot about everything. We have many professors who are knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects and it's cool to discuss everything with them. My scientific horizon is constantly expanding. Also, studying for 4 years is an occasion to prove myself, how much I really want to persevere and succeed.

and
. Lots of extroverted information.
What are your values, and why?
Curiosity - Wanting to know more, a mind of discovery.
Engagement - Involving the mind with the subject at hand.
Creativity - Thinking outside the box, or eliminating the box in the first place.
Bravery - Being able to go past shame and fear to try out something new.
Directness - Not beating around the bush.
Decisiveness - Being sure of one's decision, being quick.
Ambition - Not settling, striving to become a bit better each day.
Stamina - Stubbornness, never giving up no matter what, by any means.
The reason behind these values is my will to improve come fire or high water. You've seen the latin quote, "per aspera as astra" - through hardship to the stars. It's not that I think now is bad and the future will be better because I work hard, it means that you need to give up something step by step.
ditto
What else do you do on a daily basis? What are your interests and hobbies? Why do you do them?
My daily life is more relaxed until something needs to be started or finished. I always get obsessed about my latest endeavour also, that disrupts the relaxation.
>
I love spending time on the internet with like 15+ tabs open, sometimes I'm going out to buy things I need and look for decorations. Recently, my interest involves improving (-->values!) my room. I bought 8 larger plants that looked interesting to me and distributed them in every important corner, now I'm sitting in a jungle and the air is fresher.
My hobbies fluctuate a lot - sometimes I draw, paint, sew, write stories, meditate, sculpt, dance, jog, walk, cook, spray graffiti, text a friend, watch videos, create a new eccentric look for myself (favorite). They largely depend on my budget and mood. My parents think I'm Michelangelo because my creative pursuits are so expansive. Once I set my mind to something interesting, I can make it happen.
lots of artistic pursuits, suggests ethical
Describe your relations with family and friends. What do you like and dislike about them?
I get on really well with my parents, they are very hard-working kind people and dear to me. Mom is creative and self-assured, she can solve any problem and deal with any person, also gets what she wants with ease. Dad is really chill, loyal and smart, always nice, never gets into trouble. My parents always mind their own business but still inform themselves about what is going on, we can talk for hours. They fought hard to be together because dad's parents didn't want them to, I respect their efforts and endurance. Dislikes are minor, I can deal with them.
Who I quarrel with is my brother, he is a lot more social and sporty, my opposite. We clash almost all of the time. He doesn't respect what I say and chaos ensues. I want the best for him but idk why we don't get along.
Grandma also lives with us and our relationship is pretty harmonious, she is friendly and patient. What I dislike are her old stories, they can scare or bore me sometimes but that's ok.
Friends: my relations are tied to our joint work and more superficial. We discuss things together in the breaks and sit next to each other in the canteen. We text only when something needs to be done for university, I rarely initiate contact or arrange a meeting unless it's related to class.
What do you look for in friends? In romantic relationships?
I look for talkativeness in friends, conversation to me equals friendship.
probably
values
I look for sensuality and understanding in a romantic relationship, I desire someone I can dedicate my time and attention to. I look for someone who's very cuddly, mellow, nice, flexible, tolerant.
? Can be emotionally expressive, sensitive, I value someone very responsive to my behavior.
! I also appreciate great humor and positivity. I think it's important to be both cheerful and serene in a romantic relationship, balance is needed.
What conflicts have you encountered recently with other people? Why did they happen? Which kinds seem to happen on a regular basis?
The usual banter with my brother - I want to do it that way, he wants it the other way around. He teases me for the sake of it, and openly thinks less of me, I respond with harshness and orders
[
?], he complains. That happens regularly, yes. My problem is that he treats me as if I'm below him because I don't have the authority over him like my parents do. We don't share any views or interests either so we end up fighting. It's his fault when I respond aggressively or insensitive to his bully-like behavior but he still tries to blame me.
What traits do you find endearing that others might dislike? What traits are considered positive/neutral by others but tend to annoy you?
Someone who is accommodating appeals to me, or overly empathetic, insecure. What annoys me... people who withhold information.
How would your friends describe you?
I refer to my yearbook entry, that's where they summed it up pretty well. Most points made were: seems and wants to know everything, bold as brass, looks like a model, language expert, weird humor, future CEO of her own magazine.
What do people generally see as your strengths? What do you like about yourself?
Intellectual capability, ambition, capacity for sacrifice, finds solutions, explains things well. What I like about myself would be my talents, drive, and ability to understand a concept.
What are your weaknesses? What criticism do you often face from others? What do you dislike about yourself?
One word, arrogance.
In what areas of life can you manage well on your own? In what areas of your life would you like help?
I can manage well in career matters. I quickly advance in almost everything, improve all processes, assume leadership positions either by default or necessity, get stuff done in a creative way, finance myself. (confident, likely valued

) I can talk to everybody about everything, no help needed in getting me going in conversations. I need help in dealing with chores - I often ask someone to explain to me how to do this and that. I am completely unorganized (geographically, not mentally), kind of messy when it comes to my surroundings.
(weak
or
?) I take care of my appearance but the rest I cannot get done as I prioritize my hobbies and university. Also, affiliations - I need a companion in order to join an organization or circle to help me getting to know more people that are important. What else, I need someone to drag me to a doctor and a psychologist.
What things do you find to be a chore? What things do you enjoy more than others?
Cleaning the bathroom, the kitchen, vacuum cleaning, the dishes, cleaning the windows and mirrors and doors, dusting, cooking, grocery shopping, laundry washing, ironing, folding and stowing away clothes. (low

?) I like to operate the dryer and the washing machine. Laugh at me but selecting all these cool programs is fun.
What goals, aspirations, or plans do you have for the future? How did you come to have them?
I want to become an art director, own a house, earn sufficient money, travel, meet a significant other and creative people that share my views. I also want to wear black clothes only, as weird as it sounds.
? These goals sort of formed along the way, I saw what I was capable of and then turned them into concrete aims. I don't want to be excessively rich or world-famous (world-changing is better!), I just want to be respected and have as much as I need to live comfortably. Fame and money are byproducts of hard work so if I do earn them, I am doing it right.

If you had enough money to live comfortably for the rest of your life without working, what would you do with your time?
I'd still work. So, I would open a studio and become a dance teacher for the weekend. I always wanted to dance with others just because, "moving and music" is a concept that has a lot of potential to make people happy. The rest of the days I would spend with my usual interests. I'd also supervise my finances so I don't live with more than I need, I'll donate a lot. If my art director thing does not work out, I'll do just that. Another thing I'd do is dating.
What did you do last Friday?
I recall being occupied with a curation project, I made some research. I watched an old comedy series from the 1950ies with my parents. I planned to go shopping on the next day.
What is your biggest accomplishment?
Still being alive. Seriously.
What is something you regret?
Not treating my body well in the past. I made some major mistakes that could ruin the future that I want, and impact my daily well-being, too. I lacked in self-respect and dignity, most other people around me became victims of that as well. I also regret having larger anger issues when I was younger, being vindictive and relentless with others. I regret it because this type of brutality towards myself and my surroundings was counter-productive.
Something else I regret was being enamored with the wrong people, I was too selfish and completely consumed by it until I snapped out of it. I dreamed more than actually doing anything.
intuitive?
Who do you admire, and why?
Everyone who has a vision and is able to implement it. To live one's imagination is the greatest thing to me.
What's been on your mind? Has anything been worrying or concerning you? What problems have you encountered lately?
Lately, I have few concerns that all sound very trivial, and I know that they will solve themselves as time passes. Especially issues with my projects at university - I am confident to sort out these problems so I don't let that occupy my thoughts. The only real problem lately is health-related, I go to bed very late and I feel the repercussions.
again, low
What are your religious or spiritual beliefs and why do you hold them?
I follow eastern philosophies more than actual religions. I find these philosophies more applicable in my daily life. I follow concepts of mindfulness, selfless practice, calming down, realizing one's insignificance in the greater context, realizing that nothing is permanent.
What are your political beliefs, and why? To what extent do you care about politics?
I advocate a pluralistic democracy, I'm liberal. I can't stand systems of monarchy and totalitarianism. I care about politics in general but I don't keep up with the tiny details (who is in what kind of position and does this and that), (low

/

?) the overall political direction of a country matters more to me, and how the will of the people is actually represented, how certain laws are implemented for what purpose. Used to care less about it, but I developed a habit of picking up the newspaper and check the news more often. I feel that it's my responsibility to be informed about what's going on on a global scale, so I don't look at national politics only.
Would you ever be interested in starting a business? Why or why not? What role would you play in it? What kind of business would it be?
I've been to a seminar where several entrepreneurs spoke about their start-ups. I didn't enjoy most of the speakers although their ideas were nice, I just found that the last entrepreneur had something important to say: Do what you like, don't conduct it for the sake of "doing business". Otherwise you get stuck in routine. I resonated with that and decided not to start a business unless I am burning from the inside out to open it. (
language here) I would assume the highest executive position, and it would definitely be a business of creative pursuit. Non-profit or a simple corporation, depends.
What kinds of things do you do to manage and/or beautify your environment (your room, your house, etc.)? What do you think of daily chores?
Already answered above!

What I want to add about the beautifying, I like buying old furniture, carpets and special ways of illumination.
What kind of work environment do you prefer? What do you look for in a job?
I like an environment that is productive and innovative, always delivering the lastest awesome stuff to the people. The job may be established, but the customs should not be that way. Old-school jobs feature old-school people so I want my profession to be connected to the pulse of time.

What is or was your favorite school subject and why?
Art! We were given instructions but were free to do it the way we wanted to within those boundaries. I was always delighted by discussing our paintings, sculptures, drawings and so on, elaborating what the person did well and what they can work on. I love colors of all sorts and experimenting with them, that was an awesome part of that class. We also learned about artistic epochs and famous representatives.
My second favorite was English, I was really eager to learn astronomic amounts of vocabulary to discover how "expression" works on a linguistic level. Grammar still confuses me, I just experiment with the words as they come.
low
How do you approach responsibility? What do you tend to expect of others?
With a certain seriousness. Responsibility means being accountable for others - people expect something from /you/. I get ambiguous feelings about responsibility because it is both a chance and a burden. What I expecting of others... meeting a deadline, being inventive, daring, quick.
Where did you go on your most recent vacation? What did you do there? How did you like it and why?
I went to Bregenz on my own, which is a small town at the lake nearby. I visited the local opera house to gather experience from the art director, I relaxed and took a stroll through the city for the rest of the time. I really liked it because of the challenge of going on my own and new perspectives, I would've wanted to stay for 3 or 4 more days but my schedule was full and not flexible (something that I kind of hate).
What were you like as a kid? How have you changed since you were a child?
Apparently, sunshine in human form, liked by almost everybody. Most accounts say that I was really happy and carefree, very playful and active.
high
,
As I see it, that turned around by 180° by the time I hit puberty. I slowly revert back to my original form but I really changed a lot.
What was your high school experience like?
Tedious. I studied a lot and worried about my external image too much.
with
The good thing I gained was presentation skills! I lost most of my stage fright since I presented almost everything, anywhere, to anybody. I avoided being with the majority of my classmates but had a very tiny circle of nerdy friends, we were always up to some shenanigans and insider jokes. I was the founder of several humorous clubs that we pretended to work in. I was severely pretentious back then, oh dear. The environment was very vigilant, loud, scrutinizing.
Talk about a significant event from your life.
A bunch of negative things popped up in my mind so I thought, no, remember something positive. So this is the story, I was awarded the literature prize for German classes at prom and was given the opportunity to hold a speech. The topic selection was up to me and I chose what I wrote about in my A-Levels essay: "Youth and Dreams". So I talked about how important it is not to stop dreaming, and that goes for any age.

I encouraged the people in the audience not to give up (

), to follow their interests until they feel content.
Do you like kids? Why or why not?
Yep. A lot actually, I get on their wavelength with ease. Their low level of socialization/conforming and the way they carry themselves with an innocent naturalness, I really like that.
,
?
If you were to raise a child, what would be your main concerns, what measures would you take, and why?
Don't plan to, but I'd definitely want them to realize their talents as we discover them together. I don't want to put them into a ready-made box and overwhelm them with activities (ballet, music classes, athletics...) that they don't want. My main concern would be that they have a mind of their own so I'll be laissez-faire about it, providing certain rules but not caging them in. My child would be fierce.
Ever feel stuck in a rut? If yes, describe the causes and your reaction to it.
Nope.
How do you see other people as a whole? What do you consider a prevalent social problem? Name one.
There are so many overlapping classifications and categories that people as a whole can just be described as "variety". Multifaceted beings on a floating rock in space. That's what we are.
/The/ social problem: ego. The root of every issue there is. Discrimination, privilege, and so on, as long as humans are selfish, social problems exist.
true
How do you behave around strangers?
Depends on the situation, mostly reserved and as helpful as I can. When interacting, I rely on my instant analysis of the situation and make a humorous remark or a short comment.
How do you react to conflict? What do you do if somebody insults or attacks you?
Creating conflict is my job, "reacting" doesn't happen. If it does, I'm indifferent. I am more than able to deliver a counter blow, but my experience always tells me that it's a waste of resources & reputation. I'd rather try to solve the actual problem. Here's my dilemma: On the one hand, I want to be peaceful for the sake of advancement, but on the other hand, conflict can settle/establish something/ I get what I want, so it depends.
Insults: I can get angry as hell and make them shut up, it just has to surpass a certain point. Before that, I don't react. I can insult myself the best, #RoastYourself. For an insult to become an insult, it first has to be correct. So I can decide.
Being attacked, I have zero qualms of obliterating someone. I recognize a threat to my security or to someone that I care about quickly and deal with it efficiently. I am naturally and unapologetically brutal in conflicts like these. The rule is, be worse than your opponent. I use unfair methods.
strong evidence of valued
What do you do if you're not getting what you want? What approach do you use?
Keep trying out other approaches that I generate spontaneously, but realize when it's useless to do so. Because that's when you start wasting all of your resources that are needed for later. So for getting what I want, I rely on speed. I look for ways to stand out, or I can use something like a psychological approach, a cluster of methods, a connections one, a strategy of agreeing, the correcting approach, doing a favor, spotting weaknesses and strengths, being obstinate, or just plain body language, which is terrifically effective. Also, when I insist enough and provide arguments, or just ignore futile attempts of someone while emphasizing my point, I get my desired result.
Are you comfortable taking leadership roles? In what areas? Why or why not?
Yes, especially when it comes to assessment of roles. I know and organize who does what. That could be any area, in university it's mostly about scientific roles: who does the statistics, the presentation, the papers, the protocol, the communication, the IT, the questionnaires, the lecturing. I'm comfortable with the entire process and like being given credit for it, especially when it involves extra work.
How often do you get angry? What kinds of things make you angry?
Every day, when something doesn't happen fast or good enough according to my judgment, I can get impatient.
again, probably valued
Also, when other people are systematically oppressed, just bullied in any way. Taking advantage of a person who's defenseless, weaker, less privileged, I want to explode when I see that, and I constantly speak my mind about it so it won't go unheard.
Beta My anger is especially intense when someone takes away my stuff, I'm territorial about that, every single person regretted taking away my things so far.
What is the best thing that happened to you during the past week?
I received a perfect grade in my curation class and was openly praised by my professor as the best writer among the students. I didn't expect it so I was bursting with pride, I'm still grateful and work harder to become even better.
What is the worst thing that happened to you during the past week?
Two things. Our heating system broke down for two days and it got extremely cold. And, I got catcalled on Wednesday on my way to university, the slurring guy (younger than me...) stepped into my way so I had to maneuver around him with my bicycle. He was in a group and my friend was already driving ahead so I couldn't chide him, he just received the death glare of his life, I hope he still dreams about it.
What is the purpose of life? What do you find personally meaningful in life?
That sounds very abstract, but... rhythm. Getting into a rhythm of something, the flow. I say this as a link to what I find meaningful which is music.
What's also important to me as a purpose, discovery. Always advancing, never stopping. We were given life to orient ourselves and look for a way that suits us and makes us happy.

What is the most interesting place you have been, and why?
That was Brighton. I fell in love with the cliffs and the wild sea, everything was still so raw and original there. I still remember the sound the ground was making when you walked on it, the strong breeze, seagulls, the colors, sky. I can't forget that image in my mind. The emptiness/broadness was impressive and incredibly satisfying. The atmosphere was so powerful and I got completely lost in it.
some romanticism here
How do you dress or manage your appearance?
Rigorously, I really keep an eye on it. I used to put on plenty of makeup and style my hair differently every day, it was really experimental. Not being attractive is grueling for me so I dress trying to create my own recognizable and polished style, and double check all the time if nothing's out of place. I keep it minimalistic, although I do own a lot of eccentric and colorful pieces, I just don't wear them often. I dress quickly in the morning matching mostly darker colors, style my undercut, and I'm ready. I like to shower in the evening.

Do you like surprises?
Yesss a lot. I actually depend on them, otherwise everything would get boring. I greatly dislike routine, everything should be in motion. I have few problems with an erratic lifestyle, I cannot live a strictly regulated one - that would mean no excitement for me.

What is one common misconception that people have? Explain why it is wrong.
That they don't have a choice. Of course they have, they are either in denial or just don't see the alternatives. Or, they are afraid not to pave their own way and leave everything behind, because they stay in their comfort zone. A rapid change is always a chance, it's wrong not to take it because such risks can be a wonderful thing that make you stronger and wiser, sometimes kinder and more accepting.

Is there anything else important about you that we should know?
No, everything important that I wanted to convey is covered in the first four questions. Thank you for reading, it really means a lot
