Te
Te is seeking for rational consistency and order in the outside world, actually seeking to elicit change in the environment so that it is clearly and efficiently organised. Te wants things to make sense which means that things are efficient, effective, consistent, etc. The universe is something of a machine for them which they need to understand so as to interact with it properly and keep things running smoothly. They are trying to arrange themselves, their very body rhythms if necessary, to the rhythms of the machine so that they can keep up with it. They do not care about retaining every detail and foundational element of how the machine works in their head. What they want and need to know is the bottom line that is the actual real-world effect of these foundational elements and in order to do so Te must understand a great number of things on the level necessary to get them working, never getting bogged down in unnecessary detail or mechanics that aren't going to have any bearing on the final product. Te doesn't care about knowing every part of the logical proof by which they got where they are any more than they need to know every part of an engine in order to operate and maintain it. Te considers its own self as part of the environment that needs organisation in the sense that they want it to align as much as possible with the external machinery of the world. They want themselves to be as efficient and effective as possible.
