So I initially thought this was some weird fringe theory, but I'm buying in to it now. I think.

Are you talking about imitating your own dual in order to "overcome" limitations? Or talking about imitating another person / persons' dual in order to win favor with them. The second one (imitating other people's dual) has a lot more promise, I think.
I imagine that imitating your own dual would be helpful in the long term while imitating others' duals would be helpful in the short term
“My typology is . . . not in any sense to stick labels on people at first sight. It is not a physiognomy and not an anthropological system, but a critical psychology dealing with the organization and delimitation of psychic processes that can be shown to be typical.” —C.G. Jung
Yes, I can do it as kind of a final backup thing when I need to let out the steam. With other people..I just sort of see what they want to hear and try to compromise a little in that direction when I talk to them as long as it's within certain boundaries(i.e. no requirements of pure emotion without sense considered).
Makes sense. The dual's values are the same as yours, and they're strong in your weak areas. Imitating your dual's demonstrative function especially, would better adjust you to society.
