Default A combined MBTI and Enneagram test

    http://similarminds.com/embj.html

About 100 questions. It didn't take too long to execute though. 10 minutes I think. Questions were easy to answer.

Anyways combining MBTI and enneagram was an interesting concept so I tried it.

    MBTI part:
    Introverted (I) 57.58% Extroverted (E) 42.42%
    Intuitive (N) 56.25% Sensing (S) 43.75%
    Thinking (T) 60.61% Feeling (F) 39.39%
    Perceiving (P) 53.13% Judging (J) 46.88%
-> As seems to be the trend I again came out as INTp. Every damn test gives me INTp.

    type score type behavior motivation
6 23 I must be secure and safe to be happy.
5 19 I must be knowledgable and independent to be happy.
7 18 I must be high and entertained to be happy.
3 17 I must be impressive and attractive to be happy.
1 16 I must be perfect and good to be happy.
4 16 I must avoid painful feelings to be happy.
9 16 I must be peaceful and easy to get along with to be happy.
-> Surprisingly this test gave me 6w5 instead of the more typical 5w6

Some kind of sp/sx/so scale says:
"Overall you score highest on withdrawn traits (sp), followed by assertive traits (sx), and lowest on compliance traits (so)."

My extroverted is a little higher than usual. I am getting out and being far more social of late though. Probably just having more opportunity to exercise that trait is making it fluctuate a little higher

Nothing new under the sun in my case ... The close call between 5w4 and 5w6 doesn't say much. That I am the self preserving variant of type 5 is of course correct, no doubt about that.

If you're a P type you'll get a very high 9 score in that test.

    One thing to notice:

If we are interested in the differences between INTjs and INTps, a rather typical INTj result is oyburger's, whereas a rather typical INTp result is my profile. Compare our Enneagram profiles.

For the INTj we should expect a higher result on type 1 (Perfectionism) and a lower on type 9 (Calmness). The INTp should get a higher result on type 9 than on type 1. The reason for that is that there is a positive correlation between type 1 and the IJ temperament, and there is a positive correlation between type 9 and the IP temperament. And the correlation is probably pretty strong, too.

I score very low on both. Does that mean I'm extrovert then?

Not necessarily. I haven't seen your results on the Enneagram types, but extraversion correlates best with Enneagram types 2, 3, 7, and 8. That you only score slightly more on the introverted side in the MBTI part might be an indication that you are not an introvert but an extravert -- especially if you are an intuitive type.

My enneagram results were there. Just a bit differently formatted. In this test the order was
    6, 5, 7, 3, 1, 4, 9. 2 and 8 didn't get much support. I usually score 5 though but this time it was 6w5.

But anyways if 2, 3, 7, 8 are extrovert then I was relatively high in 7 and 3 but very low on 2 and 8. Eh Can you see any rule that would split 2 and 8 extroverts from 3 and 7 extroverts?

I more or less agree with FDG here. The typical 2 is an EFj, the typical 8 is an ENTj in my opinion. Type 7 is clearly Ep and type 3 is perhaps both J and P as he suggests, but at least you can find a lot a P types there.

You scored highest on type 6. The typical 6 is an ISFj, which means that here we have another Enneagram type that correlates with the IJ temperament. The type 6 is a bit problematic, but in my opinion every 5, without exceptions, is an introvert. And every 5 is also a T type. There is very strong correlation between type 5 and IT.

One possible explanation (but not the only one) of your test results is that you are really an ENTp and mistakenly think that you are an introvert. That strange phenomenon can also be observed in ENFps. These two types might confuse their N qualities with introvertedness. Some ENTps can also identify quite strongly with descriptions of INTP/INTp, if they don't know their true nature well enough, and therefore test as Enneagram type 5s.

    Ahem
Don't you agree? The type descriptions of Enneagram type 5 describe an introvorted logical type, there is no question about that.

Ah, wait a minute ... Now I see that you think that you are a 5w4 ... But there is an obvious answer to that. Either you are not an INFp but an INTp (which is what your test results indicate), or you are not a 5w4 but something else, like a 4w5.

And how do you know that? If you are an ethical type in Socionics you are also a Feeling type in MBTI. It is really as simple as that. If you disagree, you have a mistaken view on at least one of these two models.

Yeah everything can fit into that little model of reality you made . And actually your logic is wrong, it just means that the result does not conform to theory and either I'm wrong or the theory is wrong.

And yes, I am an INTP and an INFp and a E5 and I can guaranty you I haven't made any mistakes.

It is easy to see that you are wrong. If you are really sure about your socionic type (INFp) you simply must identify with the MBTI and Keirsey descriptions of INFPs. If you read many of them, you'll see that overall they fit you better than the descriptions of INTPs. If you have tested as an INTP that is rather irrelevant. Your MBTI type is defined by how well you fit the type descriptions.

But still we have your test results on the test in this thread, and that result is really strange. If you know yourself well you should not get that test result -- unless you are an INTp. So, whatever way you put it, you are mistaken about something -- your socionic type, your MBTI type or about your true nature (leading you to answer incorrectly to the test questions).

That is not , FDG, it is simple logical reasoning. You have a mistaken view on that function.

I really have to give you a hand here. That's the biggest misidentification of theory for reality. You don't care for evidence that is real, you want reliability of your models, you place your faith in models to explain reality instead of facts.

Really???? OMFG!!!!! how could have I been so blind!!! Yes, the descriptions! Of course! And all this time I thought they were suppose to describe ME! IDIOT!! I'm suppose to describe THEM! It all makes sense now!

Are you really all a bunch of idiots? It really seems so, sometimes ... How strange ... Not an ounce of respect for all the empirical evidence showing that you are wrong. Not even the lamest of attempts to argue for your beliefs. Not much more than joyful expressions of a mob mentality and an eagerness to triumph in bullying.

I think Phaedrus mistakes the descriptions of types for what the types actually are.
"To become is just like falling asleep. You never know exactly when it happens, the transition, the magic, and you think, if you could only recall that exact moment of crossing the line then you would understand everything; you would see it all"

"Angels dancing on the head of a pin dissolve into nothingness at the bedside of a dying child."

    phaedrus...

tell us why you unconditionally reject the possibility that socionics and MBTI and enneagram types may not possess a definite correlation.

    Phaedrus, the test sucks.

Don't base your thoughts off of that test.
(and I really don't get why you are so bend on directly correlating MBTI and Socionics or Egram, either... )

And you do seem to have some issues here, because you think your right and everyone else is wrong. Unfortunately, your reference point is not as good as it could be, and that sort of implies you are wrong (I know you will take that personally, but try not to). That's the trouble with ... but it's your responsibility to update and change your viewpoints.

It's a matter of learning how much to consider others reactions. They may not be important, but it's a good way map your bearings with reality.
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.
If you're in this forum to learn something, be careful. Lots of misplaced toxicity.

~an extraverted consciousness is unable to believe in invisible forces.
~a certain mysterious power that may prove terribly fascinating to the extraverted man, for it touches his unconscious.

To state the obvious, as several people have already done -- the test is a bad one.

There's nothing empirical about this. It's a 3rd party test that's been arbitrarily hacked together on the basis of the designer's own personal whims. Idiot.
Lol, yeah. I prefer the 1st party personality tests.
