Everything is all about power and control of resources. If people were compassionate and smart they would invest in technology. It seems to be easier for those in control of wealth to just fight for it. Look what the Chinese did to Africa just recently. It's not only the US. I'm not in favor of some of the policies here. Neither are all citizens of this country. But, nothing can be done about it. Compassion is not the leader.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

A free ebook (pdf download) on WW II, "How the War was Won", chapter 5.

Not current world politics, but extremely interesting, nevertheless.

Investing in technology and maximizing power and control of resources are not mutually exclusive. Fckin' Duh
