Shade to myself: I actively practiced Buddhism for a long time and believed I was enlightened simply by having read the Buddha's words.

I consciously overlooked that Buddha himself asked his followers to question their beliefs and him.

Yes. When any guru does that, you know they're not a fraud and open to participation. You have your own idea and choice or at least are aware of it. So the Buddha would be delighted about the person's own perception and path, not his.

I can remember whole chains of events that happen on a given day based on what I ate then. No idea why that happens or how it works, it' s pretty weird, others say.

Have you ever woke up just wearing a single sock? It sometimes happens to me and Its very uncomfortable. I wake up and have to seek for the missing sock in my bed and put it on and just then I can back to sleep.

I used to hate the way socks felt on my feet as a kid, I would much rather get my feet dirty but alas my mom didn't approve of me going barefoot to school...

Then I actually found socks that suited my highly sensitive feet. they are soft and cozy and sometimes I wear them even inside~

Speaking of weird dressing quirks, I wore plaid pajamas to school my entire Senior year for no reason other than to express how tired I was of school.

It didn't feel as awkward when I saw other people also wearing pajamas consistently...

    Some random clothing/appearance related shit...

I deliberately wear my shirts with a few buttons undone at the top. That way, the hair on my chest is clearly visible to any women who may be looking.

I rinse my hair out with my homebrew after I shampoo it - the acids neutralize the alkalinity and the vitamins in beer gives it a brilliant radiance and smoothness.

How very original and artistic. An art performance lasting one year.
The decisive thing is not the reality of the object, but the reality of the subjective factor, i.e. the primordial images, which in their totality represent a psychic mirror-world. It is a mirror, however, with the peculiar capacity of representing the present contents of consciousness not in their known and customary form but in a certain sense sub specie aeternitatis, somewhat as a million-year old consciousness might see them.

I once woke up wearing nothing and had to ask the woman next to me (??!?!!) where I was. It rarely happens to me, now that I've stopped drinking, but that day, I had to seek for my missing car.

I eventually found it before the police did on the other side of town. It was parked off the side of the road going the wrong way on a one-way street and had fresh red paint from another car on the side of it. When I opened the door, the door dropped two inches on its hinges.

I survived a heavy car accident when I was younger, and I wasn't drunk, the reason... simply too much speed...

I love socks with pictures of cute animals and disney characters.
I own underwear with special Halloween themes. I have one with Tim Burton's dead bride.
    I own Minnie slippers.
I own a backpack that looks like a vampire mouth with a hairy black tail and I proudly wear it.
I have tights with cats on my knees and legins with cats as well.
I have a pyjama with huge sheep all over it.
I love weird childlike clothing with animal and fairy tale patterns.

sometimes I experience strong food cravings that last months, like an itch I can't scratch. There's a specific burger I had at a restaurant in the States 6+ years ago that I still think about from time to time. Happens a lot with chipotle. I can almost remember the exact date I last ate chipotle.

I change my clothes several times a day depending on my body temperature, which changes a lot because of inconsistent activity levels I believe. I usually cycle through a specific set of clothes, which are pretty simple and ugly, and I'll even switch between different socks/slippers if need be.

related to the above, but I have "itchy feet" so I can't sit for long periods of time without going for a walk/bike ride.

I accidentally changed my picture on FB to a plain black image (I had it set as that before) which in my homeland indicates that someone died. I didn't notice and the next day my aunts from different sides of the family spammed me on facebook and called my parents several times to ask who died.

I've posted about it before but I'm really clumsy and I've broken my right pinky toe 3 times by running into roughly the same wall.

when I was a kid I used to "read" books by reading the first and last lines of each paragraph and then skimming the body, searching for important words, before moving onto the next paragraph and so on and so forth, so I remember close to nothing of what I read before the age of 12.

    • A few years ago I got a concussion by running in a narrow halfway, twisting my ankle, and bumping into a wall. It was my first ambulance ride.
    • I have a photo I took when I was 10 years old on display in an art gallery.
    • I don't know how to put my hair into a ponytail.
    • I spent years learning how to dance. Turns out, I am a lost cause. BUT I have good posture now!
    • One time I got really sick and feverish for weeks and binge-watched Community Season 3 and oh my god it was the most depressing thing I had ever seen. I rewatched it with a friend much later and was confused when it was lighthearted and funny. 10/10 would mournfully watch Community again.
    • My first teenage drinking experience was obtained by explaining to my parents that I'd like to partake "for my own education".
    • This is also how I smoked pot for the first time.
    • I tend to get really into analyzing tv shows, etc. as a fan, but I possess a very vivid and uncalled for hatred of merchandise. It all feels really...coy? When people drag me inside modern Hot Topic stores and the like I feel like I'm trapped in a cocoon of quirkiness. Can we leave yet? Can we leave yet?
    • After I watch a movie, I look up a ton of reviews of it to compare my opinions with the critics. I also love talking during movies, which is why I usually wait till after the theater run to watch things.
    • I frequently go up to the 5th page or so of Google results and am surprised to learn that this is not normal.
    • I know Latin (well, at this point, it's more that I can very roughly read it). The Bible is a great and digestible read. Catullus is funny. Caesar is direct and boring. LIVY SUCKS ASS
    • I tried to convince myself to like crickets just to weird out my friends, but they just don't taste good
    • In 8th grade I got tired of being seen as the smart girl so I devoted my mental efforts to becoming a master of puns. I gave it up in 9th grade but it kinda worked, people still called me the pun girl for ~3 months after
    • When I was 10 years old, my family let me pick anywhere in the country to go on vacation to. I picked Columbus, Ohio.
    • I have somehow picked up a habit of spelling yoghurt with an "h" like a British person
