Before, during and after relations

Maybe relations go through stages., where they temporarily resemble another kind of relationship. Here is one possibility:

Conflict relations
Before = ego + ID (activity)
During = superego + superego (conflict)
Later = ID + superid (mirror)

Basically at the start you'd get activated by your conflictor, then move into steady conflict relationship with constant underlying tension, later when you distance a bit, the relationship would resemble a mirror relationship, where what you think about is what your partner does and vice versa. It'd become somewhat predictable and boring.

Another possibility:

Duality
Before = ego + ID (superego)
During = superego + superego (duality)
Later = ID + superId (extinguishment)

So initially youd have private respect for and feel warm towards your dual, as with your superego partner, but to others the relationship may seem cold. With time the relationship would become a duality, where you basically complete each other, energizing and completing each others initiatives. Later when you separate a bit, the relationship would resemble an extinguishment relation, where one partner's initiatives are "cancelled out" by the other, making it hard to achieve energetic balance.

Interesting. I have nothing to add personally, but I find this a topic that should be explored/discussed further.

Mostly the theory makes sense, and I have seen for instance duals not being interested in the other at first (likely due to super-ego functions), so on a basic level I support it.
