If I could just wear all black for the rest of my life, that would be great. It's like everything looks great in black.

I would also wear that for the right occasion. The outfit I posted is pretty much how I have been dressing for awhile. I also wear skinny jeans a lot when I go out but I like gothic princess/faery inspired looks too. I like pretty things. I just bought a couple more of the beanie/beret type hats, in different colors, like in the pic I posted. I am wearing one right now. I love to pair feminine clothing with leather and really high boots or heels. I wear flat, knee high, boots too, sometimes. I own a lot of thigh high boots too but rarely wear them.

Good taste. Very classy. Good for the office (some offices), lunch or evenings out.

My approach to fashion is to bemusedly admire those who seem to have a knack, then study it in spurts from an intellectual/nerdy standpoint (e.g. looking at and reading blogs / fashion websites, and the library is definitely my friend), then I create a list of "essentials" and "nice-to-haves" that I don't already own, followed by a couple of agonizing trips to clothing stores where I deplete my clothing allowance in one fell swoop. Then I show my purchases to sister, mother, and maybe a style-savvy friend and return half of what I bought. After that I forget about it for as long as I can get away with. I figure if I put the effort in up front to only stock up on "good" clothes then I can just go on autopilot as needed without too big a risk of appearing like a dork.

I do admire well-put-together people (when I notice them) and as I've learned more about fashion (its history as well as modern tastes) I've come to appreciate its artistic and communicative aspects.

Working in tech, the common "uniform" for female developers has long been a t-shirt and jeans with sneakers/converse. Which is fine for those who actually like to dress such (it's super comfortable, after all, and who wants to be worrying about itchy hosiery while hunting code bugs). But it irks me when dressing out of that norm implies that I'm less knowledgeable or capable. I like being feminine so the rebellious side of me enjoys dressing up a little and then being super good at what I do, breaking stereotypes.

Anyway, the next items I need to purchase (in the next three weeks) are: a nice pair of dark wash jeans, a crisp/nice jacket, comfortable yet stylish flats that stay on my feet when I need to run, and a clutch-sized cross-body purse. I thought I got a suitable pair of jeans today until I got home and realized they don't have real front pockets. If anyone has tips or ideas I'll take them. Especially on jacket styles.
Oh, to find you in dreams - mixing prior, analog, and never-beens... facts slip and turn and change with little lucidity. except the strong, permeating reality of emotion.

the color and texture are interesting and nice classic lines on that one. overall def not hard on the eye.this would actually look pretty hip if it were cut in two separate items (i.e. crop top and high waist skirt).

    think of sth like these

    boxy crop tops are amazing

I already know this girl from Lookbook, I think I am following her there, though I am not sure... do you know her name? I am pretty sure she has a lookbook account.
