Default Which type is against labelling themselves?

Hates being put in a box, I guess...or hate simplicity...or hate the fact that it's sort of narrow...etc, etc...

respecting the individual traits and needs of the people is a value associated with the delta quadra. I always thought of the issue as something teenagers deal with and get over.

    Two possibilities.

People who use the most rigid categories themselves. They dislike "being labelled", because they presuppose that the labels will be as rigid and unshiftable as the ones they themselves use.

And people who genuinely dislike labels, rigidity, and thinking inside the box.

quite a few INTps I know hate catagorization, especially if it is not very specific. There has been several likenings to "astrology", when personlity type/ psychological type theories have been brought up. Things like that.

I've never really spoken to an INTp that enjoyed being pidgeon holed.
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.

I don't like being pigeon holed if it's junk science categorization out of Cosmopolitan magazine. Socionics I like, and I also find it very useful. My wife used to subscribe to Cosmo, but after she kept getting all angry and pessimistic that I was like some sort of guy "classification" in there that I thought was complete bullshit, I dropped the subscription and won't let her subscribe to it anymore, let alone buy it.

No one ever "lets" me do anything... I would imagine a Se type would feel at least as strongly about it. It could just be poorly worded though.

I don't mind being labeled, so long as I'm labeled correctly.

Yeah, especially if you are holding them accountible for all their contradictions and flipflopping and floundering and politiking and fooling around. And so on.

The box kicked me out for non-compliance

I don't like other people trying to label me. Just the fact they are trying can sometimes tick me off which is pretty weird as I sit there and try to type all of them.

I think maybe the more your misunderstood by the majority of the population the more likely you don't want any of them even attempting to type you.

This topic is old, but it got me thinking. Labelling is , because it is puting someone into some place in the structure. And is known as the Structural Logic. So someone who doesn't like to be moved into categories, hierarcheis, lists must be feeling how painfull it is. So it has as Painfull function. In socionics such types are ENFps and ESFps. And life actually shows that it is so and those types don't like to be labelled ('' You are a bad student.'';''You are not quelified enough for this task.''; '' People at your level are not allowed to make such decisions.'' ) . It is probably also painfull to INFjs and ISFjs, who have also weak .

I do my best to shake off any labels that get stuck to me, no matter how accurate they may be. It's an uncomfortable feeling.

I love to be labelled and then break the label. Make myself appear as a good student and then get the worst grade. Wear a branded t-shirt and the next day a communist one it's really fun

I don't like the idea of being labelled and I think I might start behaving differently just to shake the label if it happened. But I'm not sure. I'd have to hear a concrete example to know for sure how I'd respond.

I just got accused of having an inflexible and limited mind for dealing in absolutes ..(wth) I vote for the IPs, especially INFps, based on personal experience. I don't mind being typed, and I make no attempt to hide my typing of others, but I do get pretty annoyed when my actions are limited by labels. I haven't been called a bad student yet, but the mere thought of it is distressing enough that I'd go out of my way to avoid the accusation.
