My sister and I would speak gibberish when we were in our teens when some guys tried to pick us up but it sounded good and over time she and I had created enough gibberish to understand each other. They would try to guess which country we were from.

As soon as I drove through South Carolina, on my recent trip, I started talking like a hick (no offense to people there. I know they don't all speak that way). My friend and I spoke hick to each other for 2 days, when we were alone of course.
Haha, while I don't typically talk Ebonics, it comes out more when talking to some friends or when in that environment, too.

    Is this for real?

Our top three guesses for your English dialect:
    1. American (Standard)
    2. Singaporean
    3. Canadian
Our top three guesses for your native (first) language:
    1. English
    2. German
    3. Finnish

Edited to add that English is my first and only language. I've learned some Spanish, Japanese, and French over the years but not enough to actually have conversations in those languages. Also, I wish more of the posters in this topic stated whether they're results were correct.

A lot of that test seemed pretty cut and dry, not something something that could be interpreted differently by region.

I'm exactly the opposite: I find that people who usually speak Ebonics will mostly stop when talking with me. I appreciate it.

eh? I can only think that considering sentences without the necessary punctuation as legitimate has affected things, but I don't see how.
I think most of their "ebonics" questions focused on proper verb tenses.

What are you, an LSE boss? I find people usually change from Ebonics back to reg when they're talking to someone in a good position, haha.

Btw, your username is my mom's name.

Sometimes, but not always. Most of this happened while I was in a similar position and was just chatting with them. Maybe I just don't seem cool enough to understand them otherwise...

It's my actual name. (I am not the most creative person out there, lol.) I like it!

I couldn't take this test on my laptop computer, so my Mom let me take it on her Kobo Arc device or whatever.

English is my first and only language. My first boyfriend was American; I'm not, yet I did live in Florida for a few months when I was about four-years-old.

One of the European countries I might want to visit one day--besides Romania--is Norway.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE
