Alright, i'm gonna say. He is ENTj.
But it is right he has some definitemoments, when he is practically impossible to talk to, would dispatch you really quicly, especially when he's nervous because things are not going right way. That's when i'm afraid of him, because of that impulsiveness, irascibility of temper, i have no idea how to approach him, so i prefer to let him alone. There's hardly any real communication actuallly. But also it is true has some playful, "jokey" moments, like in that picture, showing off, making faces to the camera etc, telling a joke, trying to get a smile from you, that's when he's not stressed because of work, obviously.
My first impression of her is ISFj. I haven't got a first impression of him yet. Or maybe a slightly wild one: ENTj?

And she is ISTj, I know sometimes it's a bit difficult to distinguish ISFjs from ISTjs, but when you get to know that person for sure you'll realize which is which. Afterall, they are still different personalities.

@implied Maybe your dad is untypable? i find that some people just don't fit well in neither of the "16 types", their personalities aren't distinct enough, i guess
