The Amazon rainforest is burning, and humans are to blame

    You mean it's not orcs?

On a more serious note, it's partially Brazilian racists being racist against tribes. Not eating beef won't stop the fires because they're also burning land for soy! Muahahaha! Eat whatever (though boycotting Brazilian beef makes sense) and protest against racism and dictatorships if you actually care about the problem, otherwise forget about it.

    Hitler Was a Christian
HOW CHRISTIANITY WAS INVENTED: THE TRUTH!
    The Bible's Ungodly Origins
Who Wrote The Bible and Why It Matters
Jewish History Sourcebook: Jews and the Later Roman Law 315-531 CE

I was almost not going to post this, but you're all here because you don't like Christian culture and want an escape. Even the Christians here don't like Christian culture for being hypocritical, though they often turn around to go after the non-Christians even in a majority non-Christian environment. I expect to get nothing from this except making the world a slightly better place like a butterfly flapping its wings and keeping apart two streams of air so they don't form a hurricane.

    Screw Christianity.

but over 90% of soybeans are fed to animals so they can be processed to meat. going vegan has an immense benefit for the enviroment (and for your health too).

This means that 1.29 billion people could be nourished with the soy which is used for animals.
Yes, and the Earth has 7.53 billion people. Even though we don't clear rainforests for vegans, if rainforests were actually being cleared for cows and not to spite indigenous tribes, we would still have to clear rainforests for vegans.

If that's you in your avatar, I don't want to look like that. Just saying it's one way you could be shooting yourself in the foot here.

you don't have to be polite, and I don't understand what "vibrant" means here. my appearance hasn't really changed that much I think, but I don't really pay that much attention to it anyway.

It's not really a good advertisement for your diet imo.

More filled out, more muscle mass, more of a flush.

Do you not think it's related to your health? Other people pay attention to it and will use it as a metric for how effective your diet/your cause are serving you and would serve them if they copied you.

Since I keep getting the impression everyone here is just trying to avoid religion, here's the default organization for people who are just trying to avoid religion. It's probably not much use to anyone besides parents and children which we don't seem to have many of. No, I'm not affiliated, but I've seen these people on the news and it seems preferable to letting religious abuse run rampant and I'm tired of all the BS escapism here when your problems are o b v i o u s.

Evolution could favour lazy people, scientists say

I don't think humans will all become Homo torporibus since people like me exist and have/will read this article, but it's still an interesting and useful principle of biology to consider when lazy people or groups of people annoy you.

@coer (and others) could you maybe post the following (one or more) with each article that you post:
    - a quote with the most interesting paragraph
    - a summary of the contents
    - reason why you found it interesting

    https://www.politico.com/news/2019/1...ax-call-043991

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham has in the last year become something of a congressional point man for President Donald Trump’s negotiations with Turkey, leading discussions on everything from Ankara’s purchase of a Russian missile system over the summer to their more recent incursion into northern Syria.

So when he received a call from a man he thought was Turkey’s minister of defense earlier in August, it didn’t strike him as unusual. “Thank you so much for calling me, Mr. Minister,” Graham said. “I want to make this a win-win, if we can.”

But it wasn’t the Turkish defense minister at all. Instead, it was Alexey Stolyarov and Vladimir Kuznetsov, Russian pranksters with suspected ties to the country’s intelligence services who go by “Lexus and Vovan.” The duo have become notorious in recent years for their cold calls to unwitting, high-profile Western politicians, including Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, leading some to suspect that they’ve had help from the Kremlin, according to The Guardian. (A Schiff spokesman said at the time that the House Intelligence Committee “informed appropriate law enforcement and security personnel of the conversation.”)

Kevin Bishop, a spokesman for Graham, confirmed the call’s authenticity to POLITICO. “We have been successful in stopping many efforts to prank Senator Graham and the office, but this one slipped through the cracks,” he said. “They got him.”

“My typology is . . . not in any sense to stick labels on people at first sight. It is not a physiognomy and not an anthropological system, but a critical psychology dealing with the organization and delimitation of psychic processes that can be shown to be typical.” —C.G. Jung
