Oh, I remember that song!
It always reminds me of this song for some reason:
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.-Mark Twain
You can't wake a person who is pretending to be asleep.
@Aylen
Of the two propositions given in the thread title, you being psychic is the least likely explanation.
that is really interesting i see what you mean about the whole computer processing thing it all sorta builds up and clicks you dont really analyze the information it just makes sense after awhile but how that happens is weird i relate to it on a smaller scale where you just realize a concept someone is explaining with most likely ti so in a way it does sound like a massively delayed ti that just clicks all of a sudden
When I posted this I wasn't seriously looking for a psychic diagnosis. I was exploring how my functions operate but it was an informative thread (reading replies) and I shared some interesting observations I have made over the years. Thanks for the replies.

I had a dream that I could shoot up like a bullet in the air and leave the Earth's hemisphere to fly around Planets and even visit one, Aylen. I must be magikal.
I had a dream... I woke up wondering if psychic type things, like precognition, dreaming things that come true, etc... can be explained by my pattern recognition. If my mom can see the patterns and subtle behaviors that a woman displays when she is pregnant then it may be easy for her to know a woman is pregnant before the woman even knows. Same with me. Maybe I am recognizing patterns of health and behavior when I am tuned into observation mode that lets me know these people would be dead within a year, so my subconscious gives me a dream so I can prepare myself mentally and emotionally before it happens.
That may be why I can distinguish a true death dream from just a symbolic death dream because I know the patterns are not lining up with the info.I have already stored and it's easy to connect the other type of death dreams to other symbolism. This also explains why I don't dream the deaths of people I barely know. I am not emotionally driven to observe them long enough in order to understand them in depth. In the process I pick up a lot of information I would rather not know about people but like they say, once you know something you can never unknow it.
Regardless, I am not giving up my belief in magick. The world would be a boring place without it.
It is actually something @Pookie said about observation in the other thread that highlighted the power of observation. And what @William said:
Do some people have psychic powers? Possibly. Could you have better pattern-awareness than 90%+ people out there? Probably. But I think the belief systems which form around our assumptions are likely much more emotion-driven than we tend to acknowledge.

My world lost some of it's magic/mystery today...with this pattern realization. It's weird how it (knowing) hits all at once and I am kinda grieving it. It feels almost like the moment I realized there is no "father figure god" out there to help and you only have yourself to rely on. Not a good feeling but I will get over it. Stuff like this just feels harsh and mechanical in comparison.
Edit:
Soul searching moment <---![]()

One of my favorite by him:
A Dream Within a Dream
BY EDGAR ALLAN POE
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow —
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand —
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep — while I weep!
O God! Can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

In my dream last night I was walking down my street and I saw a cute little dead squirrel laying on it's back, feet in the air...
This morning I drove a friend somewhere and on my way home I saw a dead squirrel lying in the middle of the road, feet up in the air. I swerved not to run over it. It was two streets over from mine.
I guess this means I'm tight with dem squirrels. <3 I'm the squirrel whisperer.
Seriously I don't know why this dream came true within a few hours of having it. It's not like I have seen a pattern of dead squirrels or anything. Someone hit me with yo Te.

I'm apt to say it was a coincidence, but I've had dreams where they strongly leave an impression on my mind, and then I see a person or become part of an event that I remember from that dream. For example, I was at college, less than 100 miles from where I went to high school, and I had a dream that had one of my classmates from high school in it, except we were in fourth grade. That day, this guy stopped in to where I was working for some food. It was crazy really. It was highly unlikely that we would've crossed paths after a dream, but obviously it is possible because it happened.
Thing about dreams is that they mostly just go over things that you've already seen or experienced, plus they add some creativity to them. Since you probably see squirrels often and not realize it, you are more likely to dream about them. The things we tend to dream about are likely to come true because dreams capture what had already happened to us, hence likely to occur again.
I have seen squirrels almost daily for years. I guess there is a season where they aren't around but I haven't paid much attention. They are like part of the landscape mostly. Never dreamt of one. I hope it wasn't "my squirrel"(I feed one sometimes, 'cause he is always around") dead in the street. I haven't seen him today.
I google searched my dream:
It is the anniversary period of losing two people I loved most in the world, one month apart, last year. Their deaths were senseless and avoidable but I already knew there was nothing I could do to stop the chain of events that were set into motion. They made their choices and all I could do was watch and wait for the inevitable. I never felt less powerless in my life. By focusing on this forum, and the help of a former member, I was able to accept their deaths and move on. Before I joined here I was obsessed with trying to contact them through any metaphysical means possible.Dead Animal – Dreaming about a dead animal is representative of something that has become ruined in your life: a job, a relationship, an idealistic goal. The degree to which the animal is decomposed or battered indicates the degree to which you are affected by that aspect of your life. The type of animal that you dream about being dead indicates how hard it is making your life.
Dreaming about animals that you care for deeply (like pets) would mean that you should take some private time to allow yourself to grieve over the losses you have sustained and give yourself time to make a plan for the future.
Conversely, dreaming of feral animals like squirrels would mean that the incident was important, but that you should move forward with your current plans. Dreaming of dead predatory animals symbolizes great triumphs that have happened or will soon happen in your life. Dead snakes represent your ability to conquer your personal flaws, like bad habits.![]()
