^ The sound reconstruction is taken from this documentary [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0W8J9L51I0].

T-Rex's hearing was so good, it may not have needed to roar in order to communicate. They suggest that it would emit low-frequency, closed-mouth vocalizations that could travel over long distances.

Weirdly enough, someone did, in a way. An ILE, Robert Scheckley.

Simon went to the refreshment stand and ordered a small glass of coca-cola. He found that his hands were shaking. With an effort he steadied them, and sipped his drink. He reminded himself that he must not judge Earth by his own standards. If people on Earth enjoyed killing people, and the victims didn't mind being killed, why should anyone object?
    Or should they?
He was pondering this when a voice at his elbow said, "Hey, bub."
Simon turned and saw a wizened, furtive-faced little man in an oversize raincoat standing beside him.
    "Out-of-towner?" the little man asked.
"I am," Simon said. "How did you know?"
"The shoes. I always look at the shoes. How do you like our little planet?"
    "It's - confusing," Simon said carefully. "I mean I didn't expect - well -"
"Of course", the little man said. "You're an idealist. One look at your honest face tells me that, my friend. You've come to Earth for a definite purpose. Am I right?"
Simon nodded. The little man said, "I know your purpose, my friend. You're looking for a war that will make the world safe from something, and you've come to the right place. We have six major wars running at all times, and there's never any waiting for an important position in any of them."
    "Sorry, but - "
"Right at this moment," the little man said impressively, "the downtrodden workers of Peru are engaged in a desperate struggle against a corrupt and decadent monarchy. One more man could swing the contest! You, my friend, could be that man! You could guarantee the socialist victory!"
Observing the expression on Simon's face, the little man said quickly, "But there's a lot to be said for an enlightened aristocracy. The wise old king of Peru (a philosopher-king in the deepest Platonic sense of the word) sorely needs your help. His tiny corps of scientists, humanitarians, Swiss guards,
knights of the realm and royal peasants is sorely pressed by the foreign-inspired. A single man, you know - "
    "I'm not interested," Simon said.
"In China, the Anarchists - "
    "No."
"Perhaps you'd prefer Communists in Wales? Or the Capitalists in Japan? Or if your affinities lies with a splinter group such as the Feminists, Prohibitionists, Free Silverists or the like, we could probably arrange - "
    "I don't want a war," Simon said.
"Who could blame you?" the little man said, nodding rapidly. "War is hell. In that case, you've come to Earth for love."
"How did you know?" Simon asked.
The little man smiled modestly. "Love and war," he said, "are Earth's two staple commodities. We've been turning them both out in bumper crops since the beginning of time."
"Is love very difficult to find," Simon asked.
"Walk uptown two blocks," the little man said briskly. "Can't miss it. Tell 'em Joe sent you."

    Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
    Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

I watched Fun with Dick and Jane with my sister. She liked it; I did not. The vibe of the movie seemed Gamma. Maybe Socionics can explain our preferences.

I watched the trailer. Jim Carrey is LIE and I think Tea Leoni is some flavor of Alpha. So, maybe split the difference.

I agree that the vibe of the trailer, at least, was Gamma. It didn't seem to me that the movie was worth watching.

I’ve had multiple people whose taste in movies I’ve generally thought to be OK recommend that to me. I assumed I just wasn’t “getting” the humor, or it wasn’t for me. Who am I to be the arbiter of taste...Well, Socionics was the only explanation I could think of for it. If the resident Gamma of the forum doesn’t like it, I’ll just chalk this up to it being a bad movie.

Edit: I just talked with someone who recommended the film. She said she meant the 1977 version, and that she didn’t like the 2005 version as much. I was unaware the 2005 version was a remake. Though the ratings of the 1977 version don’t seem particularly great either.

I can't click “like” on peoples posts due to the poor functionality of the site on my end. Just know that if you quoted me and were nice to me that I’m psychically sending you a like from my heart.

I just got it back from the shop today...I made a fckin' score and a half, there ain't shit wrong with it and passed the pre-inspection test with flying colors. Just needed an oil change and a couple of new sparkplugs. I am certain I could turn around and make a 4-5 grand profit on it but who the fuck cares about 4-5 grand...4-5 grand is fckin' peanuts. I'd rather tear up the fckin' road with it...

I'm 2 only minutes into this but: True. I remember back in The Day™ when I first visited a Hot Topic and they mainly sold music related and sub-cultural gear. The only "geek" stuff you would see there were things with a devout cult following that Myspace scensters and emos were also into, like Gir of Invader Zim (who the voice actor of hardly ever saw a penny from by the way) and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Sometimes you would see Youtuber collaborations if a YouTuber was really popular.

It was so enjoyable to watch the rebel detective Josef Matula solve crimes, punch bad guys and drive his Alfa-Romeo in 80's West Germany. The intro music is cool too.
