Nausicaa was one of the first Japanese animations I ever saw, and it was fantastic.
Still is.
The Japanese version with subtitles is best.
Nausicaa was my first Miyazaki film as well! Similar themes he'd later perfect in Princess Mononoke (nature striking back, reclaiming land, etc), but I love that film.
