My ILE son said "MOM, I really want to watch something with you" He turned on this show with a schizophrenic as the protagonist. Half way through the show he said "I love you mom" See how sweet ILEs can be?

The Barnum or Forer effect is the tendency for people to judge that general, universally valid statements about personality are actually specific descriptions of their own personalities. A "universally valid" statement is one that is true of everyone—or, more likely, nearly everyone. It is not known why people tend to make such misjudgments, but the effect has been experimentally reproduced.
The psychologist Paul Meehl named this fallacy "the P.T. Barnum effect" because Barnum built his circus and dime museum on the principle of having something for everyone. It is also called "the Forer effect" after its discoverer, the psychologist Bertram R. Forer, who modestly dubbed it "the fallacy of personal validation".

Yeah...that registers to me as jumping to conclusions and not considering possible alternatives. "I didn't leave him, he died." I would think Ne is involved in considering those kinds of possibilities. He should see all the possibilities of why they might've split up by looking at things from multiple angles. The thinking should be less linear. Ne is more expansive, divergent, and producing options; not convergent or linear like Ni.
What are your insights as to why he would be ILE?
EDIT:
On a more personal / side note, this is exactly how I feel when people fail to consider alternatives and judge me using their own assumptions. 99.9999% of people fail to consider alternatives and just assume without enough active listening to ever eliminate alternate possibilities properly (which is the only ethical way, if you ask me, because without that you go around falsely accusing people and misjudging/misrepresenting, and perhaps even attacking, their character...and it's all baseless...meaning you end up doing all of that to someone who is, quite possibly, perfectly innocent of all of your accusations, all because of not exploring/listening enough to ensure accuracy).

Fun fact, my signature is actually about that...peoples' linear thinking causing them to miss the mark about others...and my response of silence: letting them be wrong about me and rejecting them, choosing to remain unseen by them because of my rejection of them...and they'll be blind to every dynamic that has taken place because I refuse to coach them out of their folly. Letting them remain a fool is the recompense. Maybe they will learn what I understand when they are 60 or 70. Maybe they will never understand it at all. Not my problem...let their own misjudgment of everyone around them isolate them from those who are good. They harm themselves with the consequences of their own actions more than they harm me with their actions. I'm capable of walking away from them, they have to live with themselves.

@chriscorey It's funny, isn't it? How Fi can make you experience something and determine it's unethical, which strengthens / goes against the PoLR (in this example, makes you consider alternatives more because of deeming it unethical not to). Wonder how other functions work in similar ways.
Yeah I've been learning about Fi my whole life due to my missteps with it. Blind people learn to read braille. I'd have to be really dimwitted not to see it by now. What I can say is that Fi can seem like a chore. And I know I'm terrible for thinking this.
I do I appeiciate Fi habitual truthfulness. I love Fi for that.

So...people most likely process their polr through their base function somehow, to some extent. I wonder if this can help hone communication. Maybe, for example, an LSI could be taught about Ne via Ti; LIE taught Si via Te; etc. Maybe approaching things through the angle of someones base function might make them more easily understand.
