That is a cute emoticon. Welcome.

Yo Ho, Yo Lo.

I don't recall people saying that Te egos as a whole can't use them. Siuntal's joke was directed specifically atPoLR.

Hi, new person.
u appear to be like one of those ppl who've experienced utmost terror and become bubbly and giggly by the smallest things ever since, reminding themselves that they are in a safe place now
I am here to learn more about socionics and find this argument is very interesting to observe, but ultimately I fail to see how usage of emoticons means anything regarding cognitive functions. It is all part of communication. I find them interesting and I see them as little pieces of art that sometimes crack me up. I don't actually make the faces I type as I type, because I don't correlate what I type with how I communicate IRL at all. It is completely disconnected from me. For example, my face right now is zombie like and blank, actually come to think of it. Even as I typed the "
". Emoticons are like part of the alphabet.
Putting a "" after the sentence: "This argument is very interesting to observe, but ultimately I fail to see how usage of emoticons means anything regarding cognitive functions." actually means " you are all ridiculous and this is my ironic way of proving that"
The following theory is subjective, but I personally think that people don't talk IRL the way they type on forums. Maybe others see me metaphysically the way I type, but that seems disconnected to reality imo and shows a lack of imagination or ability to see the meaning behind things. I don't know which cognitive function I use the strongest on forums or what my internal motivation would even be to use an emoticon, but nevertheless I see it as an unimportant factor in typing a person.
My personal ethos: I've read quite a bit about myers briggs, cognitive functions, and enneagram and am on other forums (with a different username.) This is somewhat of a social experiment.
Ho ho!
I don't care about fitting in, but I've never felt like leaving a forum within a day of joining.

Yes, this is a great place to learn about socionics.....and sociopathy......and narcissism. Good luck.
Emoticons are a type of information. The types of information a person tends to communicates does have everything to do with type, though there are nuances and obfuscating factors.
This is not a comment on mallow's type.
Welcome.
I realize that I began using emoticons when I started dating my IEE about 3 years ago. I asked him what ":3" meant and found the way he used the emoticons hilarious. I started texting my family using emoticons to see what they would say. At first they were laughing because it was different for me, but now I communicate like that and find that they can be another way to express a word or even several words at once. It is a lazy way of saying something sometimes (or efficient) however you want to put it.
That is how I view it in my book. I think it is interesting (although not surprising) how much skepticism there is around ILI. I tried leaving the forum because it seems that it isn't thriving and people are skeptical before welcoming which isn't how I would want a forum to be run (I'm building a site atm), but I am strangely drawn here and like it here, even though the vibe is skeptical, judgmental, and rude sometimes.
