    Default Enneagram Test! (It Works!)

I spotted this link in one other thread...I believe it was Gilligan who posted it. Please do this test and say what you got...
    http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/dis_sample_36.asp

    I got this:

    Type 5 8/8
    Type 1 5/8
    Type 6 5/8
    Type 9 5/8
    Type 7 4/8
    Type 3 4/8
    Type 4 2/8
    Type 8 2/8
    Type 2 1/8

    So I'm a definite 5. I don't have a clear subtype though. 5w1, 5w6, 5w9 perhaps. I am definately not type 2, 4, 8.

    Here is summary:

    Type One
    The Reformer

    Type Two
    The Helper

    Type Three
    The Achiever

    Type Four
    The Individualist

    Type Five
    The Investigator

    Type Six
    The Loyalist

    Type Seven
    The Enthusiast

    Type Eight
    The Challenger

    Type Nine
    The Peacemaker

So that makes me an Investigator with some Reformer, Loyalist and Peacemaker in me. I'm not much of a Helper, Individualist or Challenger.

P.S. Don't bitch about enneagram Just test yourself! If you know another thread related to this please post a link!

Ah yes...w is for wing or something? So it has to be somehow related to the primary Good point. 5w6 then

As always I doublecheck with my wife I'm still 5!! This time 5w4 comes first, 5w6 second. She says I couldn't be type 9 after reading the description.

This is a step by step analysis of type 9 according to her...

    Type Nine
    The Peacemaker

    The easy-going, self-effacing type.
-> Hmm. Hard to tell (meaning is not well understood).

Nines are accepting, trusting, and stable.
-> Not accepting more often suspicious. Not trusting more often skeptical. Somewhat stable.

They are usually creative, optimistic, and supportive, but can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace.
-> Somewhat creative. Used to be quite pessimistic but nowadays somewhat optimistic. Somewhat supportive but generally more interested in own pursuits than supporting others. Not so dependent from other's opininions that would agree with them just to keep the peace (not actively making trouble either). Usually somewhat discreet in bringing up opinions if it would clearly cause conflict or make people greatly upset.

They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict, but they can also tend to be complacent, simplifying problems and minimizing anything upsetting.
    -> Basically answered above.

They typically have problems with inertia and stubbornness.
-> Hmm...problems with own or other's stubborness?? Concerning own stubborness...is usually open to discuss his opinions and change them if it seems the most rational thing to do. Concerning other people's stubborness...it annoys and amuses at the same time.

At their Best: indomitable and all-embracing, they are able to bring people together and heal conflicts.
-> If the conflict would hurt self interests then is motivated and often able to heal the conflict. If conflict is unrelated to own self interests is not too interested in taking part in it. However, sometimes can try to advice people where no advice is wanted which can cause conflicts. Is good at healing those self-caused conflicts. When younger had a habbit of creating a minor conflict and then finding a way to heal it (which was annoying).

Aha. 1 and 5 are tied, and 3 and 8 are tied in second place, which, as I've been doing some research on the enneagram, is exactly what I thought I'd get. The other five have very low scores next to them.

However, I believe the MBTI and socionics are far more effective because they give versatility, ie you can be this and not that, whereas in the enneagram, you have to be this and that. Do you see what I'm saying?

There should be a "both" option I know the point of the test is to make you chose, but it really isn't an accurate choice.

    1. I've been
    romantic and imaginative.
    pragmatic and down to earth.

(more so 1, though, as per INTj intuitive subtype creativity)

    11. Others have depended on my
    insight and knowledge.
    strength and decisiveness.
    (both for me, equally)

    12. I have come across as being too
    unsure of myself.
    sure of myself.
(both in different situations. Socially unsure, intellectually too sure, etc)

    21. I've often felt the need to
    be a "pillar of strength."
    perform perfectly.
    (Both for me, equally)

    22. I've typically been interested in
asking tough questions and maintaining my independence.
maintaining my stability and peace of mind.
(both for me, equally. I don't see how, for me, I could really pursue them separately - they are very closely related)

    25. My habit of
    being "stand-offish" has annoyed people.
telling people what to do has annoyed people.
(both really, but I chose the first one as pers stereotypes, etc. Situational variations.)

    33. When I've had conflict with others, I've
    tended to withdraw.
    rarely backed down.
( Depends on whether or not it is worth it... but I'm more liable to be challenging)

it says that I am a tie between a one and an eight.
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."
    --Theodore Roosevelt

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

    Close to accurate, but my actual Enneagram tritype is 4w3 > 5w4 > 8w7 sx/so. If we rank them by types, I'm 4 > 5 > 7 > 8 > 3 > 9 > 2 > 1 > 6.

I always test as a 6...it was always a toss up between six and one but six seems more accurate overall.
