Default Quick type test: distinguishing mirror types

    Exxj v Ixxp
    Which one describes you better?
    Exxj: proactive, restless
    Ixxp: relaxed, go-with-the-flow

    Exxp v Ixxj
    Which one describes you better?
    Exxp: mobile, impulsive
    Ixxj: calm, balanced

I don't think its quite that simple. For example, ESFjs can be quite cheerful and fun loving, INFjs often appear very kind and considerate.
I was talking about distinguishing mirror types, for example INTj from ENTp

    So:
    Exxp v Ixxj
    Exxj v Ixxp

    Perhaps this:

Which one do you think other people would be more likely to use to describe you?

    EJ vs IP:

    EJ: agitated, restless, proactive

    or

    IP: melancholic, relaxed, go-with-the-flow

    EP vs IJ:

    EP: sanguine, strong, mobile

    or

    IJ: phlegmatic, stable, balanced

I would not recommend that someone chooses between all 4 but it should be useful to choose between EJ or IP, and EP or IJ.

Would you consider EJs to be Choleric?

By these definitions, I am definitely Exxj.

Yes, but that word has conotations that might make some EJs disagree.

    As I said:

I think it's not a good idea to try to type yourself by picking up one temperament among 4, especially EPs and EJs, and IJs and IPs, will often get mixed.

I do think it's useful to decide between mirror types, after you have arrived there from functional preference, if you are choosing between extremes, ie EJ or IP, EP or IJ.

I actually would pick "proactive, restless" from all four. I wouldn't say I'm calm and balanced, I wouldn't say I'm impulsive and I wouldn't say "go-with-the-flow" describes me.

I especially like the word "restless". I don't have ADD, but I'm not a patient person and my body language can seem restless even when nothing bothers me and I feel absolutely relaxed (in an ok mood).

    @Kristiina

But, objectively speaking, how do others tend to describe you (even if you don't agree)?

I barely know how others see me, but I assume they agree with 1. I decided to ask. Not too many friends are online right now, but I asked the question from 3 people. I gave them all 4 choices.

My ex didn't want to answer at first, because he barely knows me anymore. Finally he said "mobile, impulsive" and said that my entire family is like that in his opinion. (must be the Fe, Erkki has said the same thing.).
My brother also said that he barely knows me anymore, but said "mobile, impulsive" ... and added "or proactive, restless".
My friend, who is a good judge of character and has known me for about 3 years (since 1 year after I had come to university), said "proactive, restless", and said that others aren't really me.

EDIT: Another friend who has known me for 3 years (Erkki introduced him). He said in about 3 seconds: "proactive, restless". I said that people have also said "mobile, impulsive" and asked him about that. He said that I don't jump between the topics. I choose my final destination and I stick with it. And if anyone starts conflict it, I become more aggressive. (it sounds bad in translation, but it's very accurate in Estonian).

    @ Kristiina

Taken that input at face value, it would indicate that you are EJ or EP.

Isn't the difference between "mobile" and "proactive" a bit blurred?

The two words have a clearly differentiated meaning, however IMHO they tend to be highly correlated in charachter.

    @FDG

That is precisely why I said that you should use those descriptions only for choosing between EJ and IP, or EP and IJ - - not for picking up one amongst all the four to start with.

I think that if functional preferences have already pointed out that one is ESTp or ISTj (for instance), to choose between EP and IJ will be more useful than to try to fine-tune the functional preferences even further - but only if you have already reached that point.

I would rather say, that when I still lived in my parents home, I behaved like an EP, but even since I moved out, I have started acting like EJ.
The ex barely knows me anymore, he said EP, brother who sees me every time I visit my parents, said that I have changed a lot and I'm either EP or EJ. And both people who didn't know me when I still lived in my parents home, said EJ without hesitation.
