Become obsessed with a song or a particular idea for months on end?
Days on end...but not months. I don't have that much focusing ability. But the days on end is a manic-style obsession, and usually costs me more money than I have.
Unless the idea is about death and losing what stability I have. That I've been obsessing over for years. (one of my biggest fears is it happening while still raising my daughter, or as dementia sets in)

Nope, if it is a single idea or song we are talking about.
How about hours on end? I think I see how I don't accomplish grand things now lol

My current obsession is the music of Gretchen Parlato.

I'll be watching the show, and I kind of get biased towards my faves. It is sort of an outlet for me, finding someone who I can connect to and see myself in. I say that my personality is a bunch of fictional characters put in a blender.
As for the song, I may find a song that matches a certain situation I'm in, kill the replay button, and pick apart how I relate to it. There are some songs i never get tired of no matter how many times I heard them. I can latch onto things like this for months, or even years. But sometimes my mind will find something new, and while I still like the old thing, not focus on the old thing as much and start hyperfixiating on the new thing more.

Make things right? Who are we to decide when things are right and when they need to be fixed?
This. So much this.
I relate to the characters bit and connect it with the time when I was Doctor Who-crazy (still am a bit, but since I'm not really a fan of much post-Capaldi, the passion sort of died out. It's like rehab).
Although for me it's more like attachment than actually identifying myself with characters. I hardly find characters that I fully relate to in media.

Yes, I do this too. Can last months to years. I feel like it might have more to do with Fi than anything? Idk.
Evidently, according to certain people, I’m Se/Ni...so something to consider lol
Is being obsessive type related?
