I can see much of Joy's points.

In most of our schools here in the usa, we are not taught to learn, we are taught to recite. The better we can recite, the better our grade. If a student takes the information given into a direction which the teacher had not intended, many teachers get upset...an upset teacher can result in low scores. (NO, i'm NOT saying that ALL teachers are like this....just that, due to the system which the teachers are required to follow, this is the vast majority of experiences by students.)

I learned how to pass tests. That about covers the majority of what I learned from school.

I too have issues with someone else deciding what i should learn, when, how long i have, what kinds of work to do to pass the test, etc; which may or may not follow how i learn. On the other hand, for myself, I do need some kind of guidelines..like..."in order to understand this subject, you need to understand these premises....here's some ways to gain personal experience/understanding of these premises".

Well, about ENTps and school i think you are mostly right, as to me knowledge is very important, but a diplomae is a copyright to me, in that information is out there independantly of the institutions. Only i don't believe it would be right for a school to diplomate someone who learned by himself or in another institution because a diplomae is basically an endorsement. Analogy: Say i organize an event and i get endorsed by Pepsi, it wouldn't be right to sell Coke in my event for obvious reasons. It's basically the same process (Though a diplomae also holds some kind of quality control property, in that even though by definition, learning means passing the quality control, some people will take shortcuts and fuck everything up). I think all ENTps i know would agree with that.

Now does it mean that i'm (Or ENTps are) not interested in learning? No.
I also think there are some jobs where the educationnal system provides the most efficient way of learning. (Ok it was a very contracted version of what i think so the above might sound like an impulsive reaction (At least to me) as i don't feel i considered enough counterexamples as for the path of my point to be very concise, only i don't feel like writing a book on the matter, so in the worst of cases, i can correct resulting misinterpretations or answer questions if it becomes needed)

As for problem solving, i don't always solve problems the same way. Also, many ways of solving a problem "feel" equivalent. One way of putting it would be to say that it depends whether you feel like eating apples or bananas at the moment of solving the problem. What's important to me is not the way i will solve a problem, but to be aware of the most possible implications of the system that contains the problem both in itself and towards other systems, and of the different ways of solving it so that when i think about it, it "feels like home". Transforming abstract objects and processes into mechanical ones and vice versa is a good example of the result of what i'm trying to explain.

How do I solve problems? I kill everyone.

Education is a foolish concept. Wisdom is not a product.
