Wink Hi everyone =) I'm new here and lets start off with an intro and a fun game !

Hi, I've stumbled upon socionics yesterday after talking to one of my best friends about her upcoming personality psychology exam. Saw the VI stuff in her textbook of the different faces of people with different personalities, and started getting very interested in this.

I've actually taken a personality course and learned about socionics about 2 years ago but I forgot all about it.

Anyway, my name is Jason, and I'm a fourth year psychology student =). Since i've been really into personlity types in the past 2 days. I've probably done 4 different MBTI-like tests, and 3 ennaegram tests, as well as a subtype, but I want you guys to guess what I am, thats the game =p.

I'll post a thread soon in the "Guess My Type" part of the forum and post the link here and maybe put up a poll or something.. though it would've been cool if there was an option to hide the poll until after you voted, full of biases.. if you know what I mean..

I'm 21 years old. and well.. i'll post pictures too.. so you can probably try to VI my type.

    Hi Jason, welcome.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Hey lungs. I actually just read 3 random pages of it that morning at my friend's house, but it was about how physical appearance as well as how someone's room looks can portray their personality. It's this textbook.. http://www.amazon.com/The-Personalit.../dp/0393933482 . and the pictures of the top 10% of people with certain traits (exact same pictures as the ones posted by ashton in this thread http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin...cal-Appearance) was in the textbook =) as for acutal socionics, i'm not sure.

*Youtube videos are being uploaded now, for you guys to guess my type part 2 (videos).*

*edit youtube videos up!!!! http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin...eos-this-time! **

I didn't bother to look at anything, so i'll go with SLI or ISTP
Projection is ordinary. Person A projects at person B, hoping tovalidate something about person A by the response of person B. However, person B, not wanting to be an obejct of someone elses ego and guarding against existential terror constructs a personality which protects his ego and maintain a certain sense of a robust and real self that is different and separate from person A. Sadly, this robust and real self, cut off by defenses of character from the rest of the world, is quite vulnerable and fragile given that it is imaginary and propped up through external feed back. Person B is dimly aware of this and defends against it all the more, even desperately projecting his anxieties back onto person A, with the hope of shoring up his ego with salubrious validation. All of this happens without A or B acknowledging it, of course. Because to face up to it consciously is shocking, in that this is all anybody is doing or can do and it seems absurd when you realize how pathetic it is.
