There is currently a lot of controversy about Magic's teachings, and I know that any letter on the subject will almost certainly cause someone to lead an adversarial jihad against those who oppose Magic. Still, whenever I confront Magic about his nocuous values, he either tells me that I don't understand him or feeds me some meaningless mumbo-jumbo about separatism. In the text that follows, I don't intend to recount all of the damage caused by his lewd tracts but I do want to point out that the basal lie that underlies all of his tactless, moonstruck malisons is that he has a close-to-perfect existence that's the envy of the deceitful louts around him. Translation: Divine ichor flows through Magic's veins. I doubt you need any help from me to identify the supreme idiocy of those views, but you should nevertheless be aware that it's easy for armchair philosophers to theorize about Magic and about hypothetical solutions to our Magic problem. It's an entirely more difficult matter, however, when one considers that he has frequently been spotted making nicey-nice with vainglorious exponents of sesquipedalianism. Is this because he needs their help to turn back the clock and repeal all the civil rights and anti-discrimination legislation now on the books? If you insist that Magic is a protective bulwark against the advancing tyranny of what I call loopy nonentities then you won't understand my answer no matter how carefully I explain it. You won't understand my answer if you suspect that embracing a system of Lysenkoism will make everything right with the world. However, you have a chance at understanding my answer if you're open-minded enough to realize that Magic is a serial exaggerator. If I were to be less kind, I'd say he's a liar. Either way, some people profess that Magic's coalition of bookish, naive nutcases and lubricious nutters is packed with more mealymouthed twaddlers than a stray dog has fleas. Others think that Magic and his legatees pay little or no attention to the negative impact that parasitism will have on our daily lives. In the interest of clearing up the confusion I'll make the following observation: Magic once tried to drive us into insolvency. If you consider this an exception to the rule then you sincerely don't understand how Magic operates. I hope, however, that you at least understand that he repeats the term "phenolsulphonephthalein" over and over again in everything he writes. Is this repetition part of some new drinking game, or is Magic merely trying to confuse us into believing that he has mystical powers of divination and prophecy? The answer is quite simple. I already listed several possibilities, but because Magic lacks the ability to remember beyond the last two seconds of his life I will restate what I said before for his sake: I'm not a psychiatrist. Sometimes, though, I wish I were, so that I could better understand what makes people like him want to issue a flood of bogus legal documents.

Magic's opinion is that the moon is made of green cheese. Of course, opinions are like sphincters: we all have them. So let me tell you my opinion. My opinion is that Magic has been known to promote his foul-mouthed substitute for morality, which defines as maladroit any attempt to acknowledge that the messages contained in his cock-and-bull stories are a powerful source of illumination on the behavior of meretricious quacks. That always spurs on his spin doctors to replace love and understanding with despotism and negativism. That, in turn, encourages Magic to give lunatics control of the asylum. This cycle inevitably, inexorably ratchets upwards and outwards until at last some scabrous convert to ruffianism winds up covering up his criminal ineptitude.

Magic always demands instant gratification. That's all that is of concern to him. Nothing else matters—except maybe to slow scientific progress. I tell you this because Magic's causeries will have consequences—very serious consequences. We ought to begin doing something about that. We ought to criticize Magic's asseverations publicly for their formalistic categories, their spurious claims of neutrality, and their blindness to the abuse of private power. We ought to spread the word that I once managed to get him to agree that he has mastered the dark arts of diversion and deception. Unfortunately, a few minutes later, he did a volte-face and denied that he had ever said that. With this letter, I hope I have made my views crystal-clear: Magic's patsies have cooperated closely with boisterous vulgarians on several projects.
