I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Not me, not usually. For example, I have to do some yard work today. I'm not setting a goal for how much I want to get done because I don't know how long I'll feel like being out there. I wanna leave it open-ended. I might get a LOT done, or none. Doesn't really matter I guess. If I had a deadline set by someone else, then I'd get it done, but probably at the last minute. My tasks are ruled by my internal motivation, for the most part. If I had a goal that was really important to me then I guess I'd break it down into easily-doable sections or something?

It might be easier to ask 'What kind of tasks do people do that have no desireable/end result?'
Though, one could say that even busywork has the goal of keeping busy (related to that whole idle hands being the devil's tool, kind of thing).

    My thoughts exactly.
