"How could we forget those ancient myths that stand at the beginning of all races, the myths about dragons that at the last moment are transformed into princesses? Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love."
-- Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet
Projection is ordinary. Person A projects at person B, hoping tovalidate something about person A by the response of person B. However, person B, not wanting to be an obejct of someone elses ego and guarding against existential terror constructs a personality which protects his ego and maintain a certain sense of a robust and real self that is different and separate from person A. Sadly, this robust and real self, cut off by defenses of character from the rest of the world, is quite vulnerable and fragile given that it is imaginary and propped up through external feed back. Person B is dimly aware of this and defends against it all the more, even desperately projecting his anxieties back onto person A, with the hope of shoring up his ego with salubrious validation. All of this happens without A or B acknowledging it, of course. Because to face up to it consciously is shocking, in that this is all anybody is doing or can do and it seems absurd when you realize how pathetic it is.
LOL @ Pookie.
Here's one for Starfall:

This song is for Dude, since I have no idea who that is.
Well this thread went nowhere fast.
@CPig, I'm Baby. Not sure if that helps you remember, lol. Here's your song:

Dude looks like Baby
“I tell you, freedom and human rights in America are doomed. The U.S. government will lead the American people in — and the West in general — into an unbearable hell and a choking life. - Osama bin Laden
I think it would be better if we posted a song for the last SONG POSTER. Maybe that was the intention and in this case I just want to confirm my attitude towards it.
It would be also cool if you don't know someone well but then say fuck it and post whatever comes to your mind when you think of this person, even if your familiarity would be vague. I'm waiting to see a lot of "This came to my mind, don't ask why" explanations and I find it okay for the sake of progression in this thread. Eventually someone quite unknown to most of us will post a song here.

@Aquagraph, first thing that came to mind:
Unfortunately I don't know you well, but I get a strong bohemian vibe from you, and think you have a good enough sense of humor to not be offended by this satire of that lifestyle.![]()
Pistol your.avatar reminds me of.this song:

But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
Baby is now Dude? lol
IEI-Fe 4w3
Yeah, that was what I meant to happen. If it helps move the game along, sure. Just post whatever comes to mind when you think of the poster.
Yeah, lol. I think I'm going to change it back after a while, though.
Okay, someone else do Gilly. I already have a lot of posts in this thread.![]()

I don't get it...

We loved so many, yet hated so much,

Oh, must have missed that.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
maybe a saint is just a dead prick with a good publicist
maybe tommorow's statues are insecure without their foes
go ask the frog what the scorpion knows
Lmfao
I do adore that song.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
You were supposed to do me now, ******.
here's one for the16types in general -
maybe a saint is just a dead prick with a good publicist
maybe tommorow's statues are insecure without their foes

Y'all skipped over somavision, lol. Here's one for soma, because soma is the name of an allegedly hallucinogenic drink the ancient Indo-Aryans drank when they composed the Vedas:
NEXT PERSON DO GILLY -- NOT ME!

I didn't first bother to figure why was it that song because company (ironically female) and Kanye West culture alienation but it actually wasn't that bad and, ftr, I didn't find it insulting. I apply the term douche to myself all the time although I'm pretty nice and sensitive too imo.
Somehow this reminds me of when I thunk of @Starfall, maybe just the astrology reference in your name and the dreamy IEI thingy.

@Aquagraph:
This also makes my favorite ringtone ever.

@bird, I'm always struck by the similarity between yourself and Rana Del Rey, oh and welcome back.
