Typing by a third party of uncertain type is a weak strategy. Even so, has Abbie written something so extensively comparable? Can it be said to have been written as a representation of her underlying psychology, rather than because of upbringing, e.g. motivated by the culture of a particular religion or ethos?

When I read about Washington's own path in regards religion or relations towards other people, he followed his own path: an analysis of his behaviour in these areas is likely to be far more productive than comparing him broad brushstrokes to some young person whose flavour of their personality has not been expressed for an extensive period of time.

I have never seen evidence of Washington being ego and to say he is ego because he feels the need to write a guide on "civility" because he is -valuing (and thus an area where he was not strong) seems like a perverse argument. I think it is more likely that he compiled this work at a young age because it was precisely the sort of thing he identified with...I don't think a ego type would see any merit in writing such a work, even for his own use (a brief summary perhaps, amongst many such works...something dashed off amongst other concerns...but this was not the case with Washington). The obvious comparison is with Benjamin Franklin, who extensively churned out pages of positivist advice and proverbs, along the lines of "Don't leave for tomorrow what you can do today" and lines about how making enemies is not a constructive thing to do (the overall impression of Franklin is someone who is too busy to care for such things, and who dashes off many such works...but nothing about "civility"...certainly not page after page like Washington). Even Jefferson as a probable type is distinctly different in focus from Washington.
